Great thanks for posting this film !! I'm french, and when i was child there was still one of these garbage trucks running in the Streets. (1970-1980). Kuka was leader in Europe in the middle of 60's for their garbage trucks. The company now only manufacturing robots for industry. It is Faun, a German environnement vehicules company, who still manufacturing this type of garbage truck, named "Rotopress". The only moving part in the KUKA is the rotary drum inside the body, which has a spiral vane welded to the interior wall. This vane carries the trash into the rear as the drum rotates. Check out the KUKA album on the main site for some cutaway drawings, which may better illustrate the concept.

I have watched these videos guys and i still don't undrstand how these trucks work.They will not show you inside the back of it working geeeees.
