I usually grow a herb each year, this year it's rosemary which I knew nothing of I was just like....this is the plant I will grow. And I've looked it up as it has grown like we are both growing together.
I like meditating and inviting a plant spirit to reach out to me before I start this process. I have found plant spirits that already have a connection to me or my family line reach out to me, and it leads to a much deeper and individualized experience. 😊
I truly enjoy growing what I am able to. Particularly for herbs with connections to Norse/Swedish practices that might not grow natively here in California. But not always. I find growing plants helps with some of these steps, seeing how it grows, learning what it needs, giving it your constant energy through tending and care. I love meeting new plants in the wild, but raising them is wonderful as well. This was very helpful, thank you!
Oh yes definitely!!! 🥰 I‘m pretty sad that I don’t really have the possibility to do that where I live. I don’t have a garden, my flat is too dark and on my balcony everything gets pests constantly (and it’s also very dark)… 😞

It may be quite obvious, but people who live in Urban areas and only have access there to public parks or such places, please keep in mind that it's generally forbidden (in most places, maybe not everywhere) to take parts of plants from public parks etc. Especially parts which are still growing on the plant, as well as the roots. I guess it's okay to take plant parts which have fallen to the ground. If you are unsure, better check with the parks in your region.

I feel spirits as well, but when I medititate I can see images forming in the darkness. They kinda shift and appear. Usually when I'm connecting with an energy or a spirit. So when I want to receive messages or connect to the energy of a plant, I do that.
The area I live in has a lot of natural White Yarrow and Dyers Woad, which I'm hoping to establish connections with. They're not very common plants nowadays but their histories and the lore surrounding them fascinate me so I'm going to attempt to reach out.
I love these ideas. I have a tree that I used to touch every day on my way into work. (I go in a different door now, and I miss him.). I realize that I don’t even know what type of tree he is. And I knew nothing at the time about offerings. I think I owe this tree an apology. Speaking of offerings, what do you offer a new plant? Also, you mentioned if you don’t give an offering, one might be taken. Does this apply to other magick? I keep burning my finger during my spells. It’s just a tiny ouch, but I’m not being careless. It almost feels like something that is happening to me as opposed to my own lack of candle safety or anything. I would love to know what you think about this. (PS- I just started witchcraft intentionally though I can see some of the practices being part of my life in the past also.)

I know im late but im REALLY excited about this video. I don't have access to books at all since Im not open about my practice so I would rely on Google - How the plant is used mundanely today, ways it can be used medicinally, how they were used historically in the folklore and gathered correspondences that way Im so burnt out. I was like do people have to do all this just to get started?! It wasn’t all that rewarding for all that i put into it So thank you bentel for this ❤
