Let me know if you know what transmission I have in the comments 😅
I hope this helped you get an idea of what goes into installing a LS clutch kit!

Thanks again for all the support 👌

Damn I never knew how much math was involved when installing a clutch. Good job bro
This is a great video if you need to install clutch components during a rave! Seriously, good video, you nailed the steps.
Been waiting for a video lets gooo !
Great work
Great video. Maybe down 1 click on the music.
Did it allow the clutch to release?? Part numbers please
My question is it how much hp until it blows up? Because I've heard of the nv3500 but i don't know anything about s10 transmission.
I recently put a 4.8 LS in a 98 c1500 that has a NV3500 already. After mating everything up and firing up the motor now I find the clutch will not fully disengage to shift. Your video explains why thank you. Do you have a part number for that shim? And what kind of micrometer is that you used? Thank you for any help
Nice 👌 and glad it helped! I used a caliper to figure out what size spacer I needed. After you get that figured out, check out Summit Racing for RAM clutches hydraulic throwout bearing spacers. I believe my mine was the .5 inch one but I'm not 100% on what transmission I have 😅 so field verify yours 👍
I thought I put the wrong pilot bearing or flywheel bolts in. I'm having the same problem '02 sierra 5.3L w nv3500
How did this hold up doing the same thing rn just wanna make sure the clutch is all good
Unfortunately I haven't had time to finish the car so I'm not sure 😕 Hopefully finishing it this summer 🤞
What’s the part number?
I’m looking to do my first engine swap and car restoration on a 80 280zx. I was looking to do a 5.3l vortec as well to save on costs. Do you have any tips for purchasing a drivetrain? Like what would be the most cost affective way?
Honestly I don't think this is a very cost effective swap in general just because the lack of aftermarket support for this chassis. That being said, the NV1500 out of an S10 (make sure it has the LS bolt pattern), 4.8l clutch kit, and an iron block 4.8l or 5.3l is probably the most cost effective drive train. I would look for a rebuilt transmission (found mine on ebay but picked it up from a local shop) but it might not hold up if you're planning on clutch kicking and racing from a dig. As far as the engine goes look on offer up, facebook market place, or a local junk yard. Check out a company called Apex Engineering, they have a crossmember for the 280zx to make this swap easier (I wish I would have known about these guys lol). I already have roughly 4 grand in parts and countless hours into this build and I still have a couple thousand to go 😅
@@likablemichael ty!
Do you know what year nv1500 tranny that has that bolt pattern?
@@speedymillz2328 I believe 00-02 if I'm not mistaken. Check out some of the LS swapped S10 forums 👌 they have a lot of good information
Hello my name is julio I have an LS 4.8 and I have a NV 1500 transmission I’m trying to see how I can go about this. Do I basically have to get the same thing that you have to make it work?
The most important part of all this is that the transmission bolt holes align with the LS bolt holes on the block. Some NV1500 and NV3500 are correct, some are not.
Where did you get your numbers for .125”-.2”? Is that spec for all NV3500s?
The clutch shim kit called for that tolerance
Thats an NV3500. The NV1500 only came in the "Metric" bellhousing pattern. An LS4 would bolt to an NV1500, but thats the only LS engine that will.
Good to know 👍 I guess it's just a different variation of a NV3500 being it has the shift turret towards the rear of it? The transmission shop I got it from had NV3500 but they all had the shift turret close to the bell housing
@@likablemichael the S10 NV3500s had different gear ratios and different shifter position than the C1500 NV3500s
If it's a v6 4.3 transmission it's a nv3500, I think the 2.2 4 cylinder came with the 1500
Thank you for the information! I appreciate it 👌
Yup. I don't think the 4 bangers ever came with a 4 wheel drive setup and the NV1500 was only a 2 wheel drive setup.
In the future could you please get rid of the background music. It's annoying and distracting and unnessary.
I might start a second channel for a more thorough, less edited version without all the music tidbits 👍 I don't know when that'll be but I appreciate the feedback
