Great review. I bought this rifle as my first firearm. I now own much larger calibres, but my 1517 Annie is still used most, nearly everyday after putting more than 3000 rounds through it. My only comment for anyone buying, is to ensure you put money into the right places. Good optics and a good moderator. the only time this rifle hasn't shot MOA is when my Hogun mod began to shed fibres of the internal material. Oh and make sure you torque up ALL your scope ring fastenings!
I've had the same rifle for over ten years. The trigger on mine is b awful too. I set it up in accordance with some info I got from the Web, ie wind the sear engagement screw until the bolt fires then back it off a quarter turn. This improved things but still creeps slightly. The trigger weight is far too high, I've backed the spring off to minimum but still feels about three times as heavy as my Daystate. Another thing to be aware of, that big bolt knob can easily get knocked open slightly when carrying it on a sling. Unsling to take a shot and you'll be met with a "click". Always check the bolt is fully closed. Most of this rifle is pure quality but just not finished off right.
The Match 54 action sporting rifles have the slide safety, same as the 1517 from 2010 onwards. Yes, the slide safety catch is too stiff to use comfortably. However, it's a relatively easy thing to lighten the safety; any competent gunsmith can easily do it.
Just on this review, and as you seem to know exactly what you are talking about with no 'fluff' , all I can say is,.." Ohhhhh I would like to have one of those rifles."
Would you mind telling me if that is a cock-on-open action? I’m guessing yes, but I hate to assume anything. Thank you for sharing this. Great stuff!👍🏼👍🏼

Byron does an excellent job as a reviewer, he talks very well and he has a lot of experience, perfect! More videos with him, please!
Byron. I totally agree. I have the 22 rim with thumbhole stock it is exceptional. Rate it above and beyond my Sauer 202 and sako. Good job as ever.
Fantastic review my friend,, just bought a 14/16 in 22lr and can't wait to get it out on the crows 😁👌❤️🇬🇧

Excellent review, very well done. Any chance we could get a review of a Sako 85 Bavarian or Hunter?
Cheers Mate! Are you able to review the CZ 457 American. As you are great fan of the CZ’s. cheers

Ring screws are optional when you have a rifle of this quality.

nice rifle, are the barrels free floated on these models?
