Nice build, I still have my green hot streak!! ill never part with it!!, originally had a white plastic roller seat, although it along with plastic mags are long gone. Glad to see it getting so much love in the comments.
I have an orange & green hot streak all original except tires & grips. Basically a barn find, it was my wife's cousins bike. After growing up & having several bikes stolen needless to say this one stays in my house lol.
One of my childhood friends had a Diamond Back in the late 80's/early 90's. I can still hear him talking with that lisp while we were doing what kids do in and around his building. ☝️😅Nussle sandwiss = knuckle sandwich
Totally bad ass that video just took me back to the good old days I used to have that exact same bike I bought it at a little thrift store for 80bucks the guy let me put 11dollers down all I had then I paid 25 a week till it was paid off first thing I ever worked for an bought my self dam been so long ago am now 52 an still riding 20 inch bike s thanks for the trip down memery lane
I picked one of these up for a couple 100 locally and restored it too. Still cool af but you need to tilt the bars forward more! All the cool kids tilted their bars!
Sweet!! Mine is same color. everything same as it was except. skyways mags I added after the fact. Took of my ACS rotor through the years, added bulldog rear brakes. Knee saver handle bars
I had the same exact bike same color same everything. I took this bike everywhere. It was 350 bucks at the Schwinn store I begged my parents for it. I would love to have it again just to have it
Awesome bike brother! I am doing a reno on a 1987 Diamondback Strike Zone in magenta right now. I know you said knock off anyways but those look like my originals with the double fin star pattern instead of s single fin. The hardest part for me has been cleaning my mags. They have yellowed and so I have gotten them really clean but it certain light you can still see you yellowish tint to them. Did you see similar problems with the mags you put on?
I have an 85 in battleship gray that was hanging in a bike shop since new, it was never ridden. The find of a lifetime! Keep looking......they are still out there
@@kevinbrant2188 I had a friend as a kid who was a bit older and he was also the neighborhood tough guy. His whole family was tough. He taught me how to ride BMX and motor cross. I had that diamond back in 86. My friend was killed on his Yamaha just after and his name was Brian Brant. He was 18. His friends called him Shawn and he was also an exceptional artist. Be well…
Holly crap you guys do UA-cam? While I’m here, you by any chance have any heavy weights from midschool with frame standers? With out naming any a yes will be all I need. Being NW US, I’m pretty far but I got my main family in Rochester NY for a shipping jump off. We are talking heavy weights LOL. Unless it would be cheaper to ship one to BC. What I’m looking for is a frame and matching 990(ubrake) fork. Vert/street park(real street parks not that modern sht) say like a trek subvert3.0(96-98) 96standard shorty, 96-97 S&M sabbath??? Let me know with a yes. I will reach out asap to set something up
Does anyone know what the list price was for this bike at that time? $200-300 or something like that? I had the 1987 DB Hot Streak in green and it was my most prized possession.
