Matilda visits Helsinki

We finished our Christmas trip to Finnland with a visit to Helsinki, joining us on our trip are the grandparents Dave and Desley from Australia. On our captivating journey to Helsinki, we ushered in the New Year 2023 with an unforgettable family adventure! We're excited to share our delightful experiences as we explored the stunning Finnish capital alongside our three kids, Matilda, Leander, and Heidi.
Our first stop was the enchanting Kids City Museum, where imagination knows no bounds. Watch as our little explorers engage in interactive exhibits, unleashing their creativity and curiosity in a world tailor-made just for them. The joy in their eyes and the laughter that filled the air made this museum visit a highlight of our trip.
Next, we set sail for the historic Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage site that welcomed us with its fascinating history and breathtaking views. Wander with us through the ancient fortress walls, as we're transported back in time while our kids run free amidst the charming cobblestone streets and lush landscapes.
In Finnland, the sun sets early in winter but we elevated our New Year's Eve celebrations to new heights - quite literally - with a dazzling dinner at a rooftop restaurant. The panoramic cityscape, adorned with shimmering lights, served as the perfect backdrop for our family to reflect on the past year and embrace the exciting possibilities of the one ahead.
But the excitement didn't stop there! A visit to the world famous rock church and the wind organ, a tour of the HAM, the Helsinki Art Museum and the Helsiniki City Museum just to name a few of the destinations. Our journey also led us to an underground play center built inside a Cold War bunker facility, where our kids could run wild in a world of endless fun. From bouncing and sliding to joyous laughter echoing through the tunnels, these playtime moments were an absolute blast for all of us.
