Apex doesn't limit player slots, I'm not sure where you got that information? You can adjust the player slots yourself on your server panel, and it is only locked when a game specifically will not run if you set your player count any higher. They do have a recommended player count for each package but this is not enforced. Zero artificial player slot limit present whatsoever outside actual game limits. Source: I work at Apex and at the very least on this date January 2023 there is no player slot limit enforced. That's the sort of thing we deal with every day and we won't shrug you off and tell you it's perfectly normal. ^^ If I tried to help you without seeing the server I'd be giving you overly general advice and it probably wouldn't be too helpful; there are a lot of possible reasons for lag that we can narrow down if we have the server in front of us.
@@DerekSan_Arg You can manually upload any mod files/other server files to an Apex server that you want even if the modpack isn't available on the installer, so just as long as the mods work on servers you can run them on an Apex server too.

I'm personally moving away from my free modded server I've run on aternos for over a year because I require something stronger. Despite this I have two other modded servers I also run on the side on Aternos. I would say they work pretty well if your looking to just play with your friends as even though I run these servers they have only ever been for me and my friends. You can use mods, but try not to use too many. I wouldnt use anything much over a hundred and that's if you only have a few people playing. As I said, good to start understanding how servers work without spending money or to just have a server to play with your pals here and there

Shockbyte sometimes have long wait times, but once you have your server, the service is actually pretty neat. The best part about them is the library of guides on their youtube channel. Good stuff.

sparkedhost as far as i know is good for beginners who dont want to risk much money for hosting on the other hand Apex is good for modpacks and plugins and fast the downside is its reallly expensive
Apex hosting charged my friend 200 a month for a 3 gb server because all the add ons they threw on. and scalacube sucked for ark hosting but that is a diffrent game so maybe it runs smoother on minecraft,
aternos is fantastic for free servers, but it begins to falter HARD with larger modpacks, to the point of being outright unplayable on a bad day. Good for starting out with, but dear god will you be glad once you actually start paying for your servers.
unfortunately servers require upkeep and one time payments wouldn't be viable for the people that own the servers, aternos is a viable option for free you could try that, or try the cheapest option for a server if possible of course
multi craft panels are terrible. pterodactyl (or apollo as sparked calls them) is much better and more responsive. i operate a server network using sparked host shared hosting across all three tiers: budget enterprise and extreme. they are very cheap and offer 10/10 customer support (10 second response time to a TICKET) - would definitely recommend
Don't listen to the other comment, Aternos will run like absolute dog crap for what you want. I can't which host but I can say, for 1.19.4 (current latest version of MC) you'd probably want at least 5 - 7gb of ram. Price just depends on the hosting provider really. Use something like paper if you want decent performance.
scalacube scammed me. I've sent 2 refund requests and i got 0 help. I completely don't recommend it to anyone. there is much better services like pebblehost or shockbyte that are not trying to scam you.
Any recommendations? I am running a 3 man modded server with big mods like The undergarden, Ice and fire, Twighlight forest and other mods (150 mods). Right now im using Shockbyte Zues plan 12GB but when anyone goes exploring and render new chunks in ,the server will just crash. Should i upgrade and invest more with shockbyte or are there better server hosting options for my modded world?

There's the Essential mod, allows you to essentially play LAN over distance for free.

i tried hostinger. my server properties file keeps reverting to their default settings, which has pvp disabled, and difficulty forced to normal.

Yes, this can easily be done via the file manager within your Minecraft server on the Apollo Panel - Sparked Host's control panel.
