PLAY Airlines | A320N / A321N | Stansted to Baltimore via Reykjavik | Tripreport | An Honest Review

Hello and thank you for viewing my video. I was intrigued by PLAY ever since I first saw the announcement that they would carry on where WOW Air left off. And as many of you may know, it didn't end well for WOW.
After researching some itineraries I could schedule in around work, I found a good deal with PLAY from STN to coincide with my time I had booked off. For just £64 (YES.. SIXTY FOUR pounds) I couldn't say no, so I booked it without checking hotels or transport options the other end.
A more in depth review of my ratings is below...
Here are my ratings for both flights combined
Price: £64 for the flight (£250.78 after tax and seats) (9/10)
So I may have rated this 9/10, as for 2 flights onboard almost new aircraft across the Atlantic is a bargain, especially one way. As for all flights departing the UK, we are hit with a huge tax bill. The flight fare was actually £64, but UK APD (Air Passenger Duty) was £84, then other taxes such as departing and landing pax tax were added. The once I added my seat it came to a total of £250, which still isn't bad for a transatlantic hop from the UK to USA.
Cleanliness: 10/10
As expected these days, the aircraft were spotless. There isn't much more to say on this one!
Food (Price & Quality): 10/10
I thought the food price and quality was good for a low cost airline. It is always going to be expensive but for what I got i think it was worth the money.
Comfort: 8/10
As stated in the video, the A320N wasn't comfy, I had no room at all, so it was a typical low cost experience. The A321N however was very spacious. When I flew the aircraft they were leasing was fitted with 194 seats out of a possible 220 (I think). But I did notice reports that they will be increasing seat capacity so legroom will be worse in the future.
Crew: 10/10
Both crews were great. With good knowledge of English & of course Icelandic. They were fast with service and didn't seem to stop moving on both flights.
Punctuality: 9/10
I scored this lower as despite both flights arriving earlier than scheduled, both check-in procedures had problems. At STN the ticket machine wouldn't read most mobile barcodes, meaning they had to check manually, causing a late departure. And in KEF they checked passports and tickets 3 times (all different staff members) causing delays. Plus the gate area wasn't clearly marked out so lots of people were quieting in the wrong area. But we still arrived early both times so I can't rate it too badly.
Overall: 9.3/10

Just some polite viewer feedback for future videos - can we see more of the overall experience, not just a long shot of outside the window. Check-in, boarding, seat/pitch, inflight sales and service etc.

Thanks for the feedback, I certainly want to try and capture more shots that include this, I'll be honest, I get a bit self conscious when filming and think people will judge me, so I put myself off sometimes from filming certain things.
I should hopefully be taking some flights in a couple of weeks so I will try to use those flights as a learning curve for myself to overcome the anxiety of filming and I will capture as much as I can. Thanks once again 😊
