The basic aspects of sitar riyaz are very clearly and logically explained. I think this comes with clear thinking and a scientific approach to teaching music. 😊🙏🙏🌹
Fantastic teaching. The sort of video that makes you enthusiastic to learn. It's been so difficult to find an intuitive lesson on these traditional techniques that one could understand without previous sitar experience.
Thank you for posting these excellent tutorials. I went thru 5 in one sitting and want to keep on listening to you. Thank you again ... I have already subscribed to your channel. I will be going thru them in more details again, start making my notes and start practicing again. You are great ...
Very nice and clear explanation.. I do follow such steps too for just 1year and its helped me much to improve the technical skills to play and more understand the structure of playing
I can now call myself an advanced level sitar student , and i can say that the advice on this video is totally priceless. The most seemingly basic excercises , go a very very long way , and he has covered all of the most important building blocks. Thank you !
Sir I am Sudesh Kumari again u will be happy to know that in two days I have improved a lot, I start with all alankars at least for half an hour, I wish could talk to u I don’t have ur tel, no , I am very. Blessed that I c@n watch ur videos, thank u so much,
I think that no sitarist has explained so beautifully all the important elements for playing sitar. One thing you have not experienced i.e. Single , Double and Choudoon. Thank you very much Sir.
Good very good you are a great person who give basic and confidential lesson to all Jo ustad nahi sikhate wo app free mein sikha rahe Ho Weldon App ko bhut bhut God blessing and Thanks
Sir, your tutorials are very motivating and useful...though Sitar is not my instrument, yet I am tempted to learn Sitar, simply because of the interesting way you teach .. you are making a huge contribution in enriching the knowledge of the viewers...Thanks a lot Sir...
Really it is a very good technique. But may I request u to explain that, how can one know, that, while practicing Gamak, how much distance/length to be pulled on a fret to get the next note exactly.
Thank you very much.I am practising sitar. I would like to know , how to prepare the first two fingers of left hand to play smoothly and easily How to develop markings (cut due to wire ) ,so that the left hand runs effortlessly. Secondly, how to give strokes so that only first wire will give sound and not second SA wire.
This is pure gold Sitar Sam and you make it so easy to follow the instructions. I have not seen anywhere else such comprehensive instruction on the mizrab just for one example. I would like to study with you in individual lessons. Is this possible ?
Very effective method of rewaj. May I know how to do permutation and of combination of boles murchana paltas . If you write one like this then I can understand. Please sir. Namaskar to you.
Very significant video for the beginners indeed. May i request you to please also narrate "in writing" which surs are you playing while rehearsing "paltas", especially when using combinations of 2+2, 2+3 and so on. This would facilitate beginners even more. Best Regards.
sir may i request you to kindly mention the "surrs" while rehearsing paltas in 2+2, "2+3, 3+2 and so on. Or you may please make a mention of any video you have elaborated the surrs for paltas in. I shall be obliged. Best regards.
Wonderful. Just one question.....Don't you think Sapat and Meend should be included in the sequence of daily riwaj?....also sparsha, kritan and jamjama at a later stage?
Rather I would say sapat and gamak in stead of meend. Meend is the finest thing to practice and at very proficient stage. Other than that you must practice all the elements daily.
Dandavat pranam PrabhuJi🙏, thank you for these great videos. Can you write the bols used. It goes so fast even with youtube slowdown it is difficult to follow🙏

Thank you so much sir...
Thank you so much

Thanks 🙏
Which is it better to practice -- chougun or aathgun?
Practice slow and steady. Once things are properly done in slower speed then first try 4x then 8x speed. But first thing to do proper slowly.
Wonderful. Just one question.....Don't you think Sapat and Meend should be included in the sequence of daily riwaj?....also sparsha, kritan and jamjama at a later stage?
