You can, but there was no pre-heat or post-heat like you HAVE to do with cast. It's pretty fucking hard to do tbh. Most welders and welding shops turn away cast because it's so easy to fuck up.

Instead of having a hammer. Spend your money on a grinder, welder and welding rods and make one of these. Last time I checked, hammers came with a claw to remove nails.
