    What is then the difference between EPT and cold tests since they both stimulate the underlying nerve fibres? How will performing EPT and cold tests help in arriving at a more reliable diagnosis?

    • @SaiNaveenKumarPilliPTBD18
      @SaiNaveenKumarPilliPTBD18  2 роки тому

      Hi Kyriake, the diagnostic accuracy of both these Tests vary and moreover, EPT is not reliable in certain clinical situations such as immature permanent teeth, full-coverage restorations, concussed teeth etc. Usually, the most ideal way of performing a pulp sensibility test is a combination of cold test & EPT. Hope it's clear, best wishes.

    Is it possible to use the tip on the gingival 3rd? Would that give a false + because the gum is stimulated in this case? Thanks for the video!

    sir, what would be the narrowest part of pulp at
    1.radiographic apex
    2.dentino-cemental junction
    3.at the orifice

      I reckon it's CDJ as minor constriction or minor apical foramen often coincides with this histological landmark.

      "The narrowest part of the canal is to be found at the 'apical constriction', which then opens out as the apical foramen and exits to one side between 0.5 and 1.0 mm from the anatomical apex."

    sir enamel and dentin are good conductors of electricity? if yes.. why this current cant conduct to other teeth and give a mixed response?

    • @SaiNaveenKumarPilliPTBD18
      @SaiNaveenKumarPilliPTBD18  7 років тому

      Theoretically its possible. But clinically no such findings. Moreover, studies have proved that EPT is as reliable as cold testing except in few clinical situations. You can check out a recent live session on the same. Drop a mail @ proudtobedentist@gmail.com for doubts clarifications.

    Regenerative endodontic treatment can be done on mature permanent root canal treated teeth.
    If yes then in your known reference can suggest a endodontics clinic or hospital name for doing this treatment please reply me as soon as possible.

      Hi Shubham, as far as my knowledge is concerned it can be done successfully in immature teeth or teeth with open apex. Also, I have no idea on where such treatments (Regeneration in mature teeth) are done. Best wishes & love.

      FALSE POSITIVE- Innocent found guilty i.e tooth is vital but showing it was non vital . FALSE NEGETIVE - innocent verdict for guilty i.e tooth is non vital but shows that it acts as vital .
