Zaire music was massively popular in Nigeria in the 70s! Wow! We had no problem playing music from Zaire, Cameroon, Ghana, East and South Africa. Now, some African countries are not happy with the popularity of Nigeria's Afrobeats.
The sorcerer of the guitar, perfect art...I'll build him a statue in my hometown and name the street as Franco of Zaire Avenue for memory of TPoK Jazz members.
When I was still younger, my uncle used to listen franco's music like mario. Now this genaration of social media, It gets me to know franco very well. Yeah was strong man the singer and guitarist. Rip music commander
Aaah le Grand Maître Franco Luambo Makiadi dans ses Oeuvres.C'est vraiment nostalgique. La belle époque. Reposez en paix tous ceux qui nous ont quittés
I don’t speak Lingala but this music touch my heart with mix of emotions and lots love once I start listening I can stop reminds me my father and his friends when they were young .
I am a retired Kenyan broadcast and news agency journalist, a Unesco Consultant. I learned Lingala in evening classes at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. This is the summarized meaning of the Song Falaswa, a Simaro Massiya composition. A woman is narrating her story about her former husband Falaswa, ie Francis. She had been married to Francis for ten years, and she failed to get pregnant. On parting ways with Francis she immediately became pregnant and gave birth to a baby. During her failed marriage to Francis, her in laws had called her all manner of names, such as "drunkard." Francis had taken her to various fortune tellers. Francis also took her to a doctor who ordered for a medical examination. Francis fled to Bas Zaire (now Bas Congo) province, then to Cameroun. The doc telephoned the hotel in Cameroun where Francis stayed, demanding that Francis returns to Kinshasa, where he had run away from heavy responsibilities. The song ends there. My understanding of this story is Simaro has a hidden meaning, an innuendo. Fans in DRC are best placed to unearth this deeper meaning - in Lingala they call it MBWAKELA. Can a volunteer from Congo unfold this Mbwakela?
Oooooh my! Sounds a little like Biselela but nonetheless, a masterpiece. Great seeing Franco sing. In most cases, the great Luambo just talked, rapped, if you like and we danced our heads off.
Malage de Lukendo, Carlito Lassa, Dizzy mandjeku, Lokombe Ntal, Ndindudi, Makabi, youlou mabiala wako bado wako hai. Wengine kama Jolie Detta, Baniel Bambo sam mangwana.

Tu as raison Steve S. Nous devons sauvegarder ce patrimoine culturel musicales.Par contre en politique tu as oublier de citer Mr Etienne Tshisekedi Wa Mulumba, grand opposant politique et père de la démocratie chez nous en RDC.
This about a man who can't impregnant his wife, but all blames it all on his wife. Until they got separated, and the woman was pregnant from an another.
The advice and conclusion: Walk away from uncalled for troubles, we don't know what happens in other peoples' houses. The woman kept the family secrecy....
@Mukiti M. This is epic composition. Real life encounters. I am a doctor and I confess men we fear problems to be on our side. I feel for the guy. Franco is a real magician when it come to composition of songs...
