Thatcher sold off council houses and receipts were not legally able to reinvest in social housing Jeremy hunt forgot to mention his 5 Brighton high rent property go figure
amazing that those properties you couldnt give away in the 60s are now so expensive that only the richest hedge fund managers in the world can afford to live there
Incredible to think that when I was born, my mum and virtually every other mother in that maternity ward, were smoking in the bed with us babies next to them! It was absolutely normal back then. Also, you'll find many old videos on YT showing women shopping in stores and supermarkets with a cigarette in hand! Quite bizarre in today's world, but normal back then.
Tough times back them 💪 we lived in Wandsworth early 70s had no bathroom had to go my nans in shepherd's bush just down road no one had bank cards back then once you run out of money that was it and people moan now days
Absolutely love this. Thank you for releasing short films like this that remind us of our past and just how lucky we are today.
The Norfolk. Was one of my favourite pub's..
My dad went there he is 84 now 😊
So beautiful. And now look at what’s become of an amazing city…
And what would that be exactly?
It looks just as good now. Even more cosmopolitan and vibrant, one of the best cities in the world.
@@lizclegg7556stabbing capital of the world 👍🏼

(3:37) The little one's chewing on a packet of cigarettes.
Well, you've got to keep them occupied somehow...I guess.
Wow, I forgot there was a time where people use to smoke in front of their newborns, what a strange time.
What a decent man. Where have all the decent people gone?
Where I grew up in 1970s!
Oh cool. Do you go back to visit or are you still there?
@@pmacc3557 I still pass by often on the way to work!
Was it a fun place? Looks very vibrant and rich in culture.
@@jennytaylor3324 Yes! My dad was from Trinidad, my mum English!
@@Blackedoutewoks Sounds amazing! I believe multi-cultural societies are a lot more interesting.
What a treat to hear "If You're Irish come into the parlour"
Please no depressing comments!
