The people you're talking about aren't bankrupted by medical debt, they're bankrupted by undue regulation, non-competitive practices, and personal financial ineptitude.

A former fiancé's mother died of cancer and bankrupted her family, a former stepfather who dad got sick and lost the family farm because of the medical expenses. I've also had family members see it happen to patients they attended as medical professionals themselves. Hell my aunt was an administrative chief of the hospital I was born in. She dealt with the nightmare that is private insurance in this country as a medical administrative professional for years before she finally got out of the field due to burnout.
And what's more even if I hadn't seen it up close and personal the data is out there to support my personal experiences over and over again. So I have the access to information that disproves your point of view on a personal level and at a MACRO level. Just because your personal experience hasn't put you into touch with somebody that was ruined by medical bills doesn't mean it's not a huge problem in this country. But what can I expect from somebody that wants to argue with medical professionals on the subject without having any connection to the field themselves other than being a patient. And on top of everything else you people look for a reason to pick a fight on this shit. You never will listen to any evidence or reason that doesn't support your own opinion, never are willing to admit you might be wrong. Yeah you don't watch Fox, what is it then One America, Newsmax?
