- This was a long awaited to visit Sikkim in winters to see the beautiful green West Sikkim, snowy North Sikkim and snowy as well as patriotic East Sikkim (Nathula - Indo China Border). Come, join me in this Sikkim Travel Series as I explore the beautiful North Sikkim.
North-Sikkim is the best destination for those who are looking for a natural gateway to spend a few days amidst the pure nature away from the crowded city life. The weather of the North Sikkim is usually frosty cold in the winter season and pleasantly cold during the summer season. The Khangchendzonga National Park and the Shingba Wildlife Sanctuary are the major wildlife attractions in the North Sikkim. The Red Panda which is the state animal of the Sikkim is a native animal of the North region. It is the State Animal of Sikkim. The region is the heaven on Earth for the trekkers and adventure seekers with the hypnotic beauty of raw mountains, valleys and forests. Most tourist places of the North Sikkim are restricted to the Indian citizens only due to the proximity of the India-China border and required permits to visit here.

Sikkim is truly a hidden gem.There is so much to explore. As sikkim is very close to my hometown I have visited sikkim about 12-13 times but it never gets old. Each trip is a new experience.

We visited North Sikkim last May and the roads were pretty good. Really sad to see such a level of destruction.

This was shot in Jan end 2024. You surely be able to visit Lachung, Yumthang and Zero Point in March end. But for Lachen and up till Gurudongmar Lake, you will need to get in touch with the locals, since the road was closed in Jan end. Not sure if it has opened or not
