- Hello everyone and welcome back to The Beatles Forever. Today we are going back once more with Peter Brown. He had the permission of the Beatles and their loved ones to do a book setting the record straight on the Beatles.
Today we will find out about the Dollies, Love found, and a bit of a scandal.
Peter Brown obviously wrote "The Love You Make" about his time with The Beatles, which I read 30 years ago. I don't recall anything particularly shocking, even reading it as a teenager. However, the individual Beatles were not happy. I seem to recall Paul burned his copy. Peter was an interesting character and in a position to know most of what went on in The Beatles' organization. I certainly think the book is worth a read.
Thank you for your comments. It is interesting you and another viewer mentioned that Paul didn't like the book. In the beginning of the book Peter said that he had the Beatles permission to tell their story. I guess they didn't see all the stuff he wrote before it got published ha.
John Lennon described Peter Brown as a three-hour martini lunch hanger-on.
And note that Brown didn't write and publish his book until after John was dead and couldn't talk back.
I love Paul’s values,thx for this @THE BEATLES FOREVER
You are very welcome!
It’s easy to be shelf righteous regarding “it’s a man’s world” perspective while all the same we carry those outgrown instincts in vicious subtle ways. Let’s celebrate the beautiful things of the past in full light of the often grittier realities of their being. No one is any better or any worse than anyone else is capable. Balance being the tricky part
Interesting stories that emphasize how young they all were & did immature things at times as a result. Their genius as a band makes u forget that.
I read this book years ago but I could not remember too much about it so was glad to listen to your video. I do recall it did not go over to well with Paul for some reason. Enjoyed this installment. Take care!
Thank you for your comments. I am surprised Paul didn't like it. I haven't gotten through with the book yet, so there may be something said he didn't care for. We will find out.
Another fab chapter! :)
Thank you I appreciate it.
Poor Dot.
I know that must have been terrible for her. She was probably supporting Paul in his music career and then he dumped her.
