    As always you are doing great content. Can't wait to see what cards this CC precon add to DashIO arsenal.

    I'm a big fan of the Armory decks. I just started up in FAB, and I picked up the Azalea deck as my starting point, and I've picked up a few upgrades thanks to some deals from other players at my LGS. My deck isn't quite as strong as the established players at my LGS, but I don't feel like I'm totally outpaced because of my deck, but more because I'm still learning the game.

    It feels like the Dash AD from the reveals we got already is to help Maxx more than anything

    I've been watching the kayo one for a while. The fact that it keeps going up and selling out is impressive

    The Armory Decks are a great way to get into different heroes.

    At the time of me checking I believe there was only one and then it's sold out again and I think somebody is drip feeding them in and letting the price go up for the kayo deck... I haven't yet figured out why the price of the singles inside haven't gone up, but my theory is that people are buying the deck to play it as a deck, not for the pieces as much. I think that's already past. Which is really good far this deck. I know my store still had a couple copies and I picked an extra one up for later just in case but the reason they probably had them was because when the decks first came out they tried to sell it to me for $80 and I think it left a bad enough taste in all the locals. Mouths that people haven't gone back to go get it now that they've dropped the price to 40 in line MSRP

    The first strike decks are great. I I played them the other night with my daughter and I would say it gives a pretty decent initial experience. The Armory decks are probably not the best first experience. They're good. They're as idiot proof as I think they can be made but they are good for going to your local Armory and wanting to play but not having a deck with you. You might not win more than likely, but you'll probably at least pick up one win. I know I've been playing them into talishar for a couple weeks now and they are pretty consistent

    As a new player I don't want to play an undeveloped bottom tier hero, I appreciate the intro into the game being through more developed and proven strategies. This way I know that I'm investing in cards that could become viable if I choose to upgrade my inventory along the way.
    I just purchased an Azalea armory as a brand new player. Really cool, best stand alone starter deck I've probably ever come across in TCGs.
    Though it does need quite a few investments to be made competitively viable....

      I understand Talishar numbers are by no means a perfect unit of measurement, but they do at least give us a decent idea of what we can expect going in to each matchup. With that said, if you go off the most recent data logged for Azalea, she is around the bottom of the pack when it comes to overall win % at 44% (out of 10,000 games played). With under 50% win rates against all of the current meta contenders: Dash (44%), Prism (32%), Kayo (41%), Nuu (43%), Zen (44%), and Enigma (43%). So, while you might not be getting an "undeveloped" Hero, whatever that means, you are getting a bottom tier hero currently. Meta shifts all the time, so it could change before you know it.
      I'm sure we both understand that pilot skill will always be a factor but that same argument can be used for any Hero/Matchup, which is why we just recently saw an Uzuri win a major tournament. One of the best Azalea players in the game right now is Brody Spurlock, he actually made top 8 at the most recent Calling: Manila, but he was running Zen, not Azalea.
      And lastly, like you said, you bought the Armory deck and now you still need two other Red in the Ledgers, Fyendal's Spring Tunic, and Codex of Frailty if you want to be competitive (~$300+ USD)

      @@Vvulfkrit Strong points, especially with the steady meta-shift, you really never know what will work. Shoma!!!
      On the note of a hero being "undeveloped," I just mean that it's harder to learn about a hero that doesn't have a bunch of deck profiles, high-level replays, gameplay breakdowns, or any other insight into the strategy published on sites like YT.
      Less performance, less development, less content. Harder to pick up. (my line of thinking)
      I realize now that "un(der)developed" was the word I was looking for.
      Love the content Vv, keep it up!

    I'll be honest with you. It's $40 for any of those decks at all of my nearby lgs's and there are like four around me that serve flesh and blood. The stated purpose of the Armory deck was to make at least a somewhat competitive starter deck for somebody to pick up and play an Armory with not quite to fully learn the game. I would agree with you for the price point of an absolute starter kit, but this doesn't feel like it's meant to be a starter kit. The kayo deck could be thought of as One, because of the way the mechanics work, it's been linearized to such an extent that there is no way you can miss your discard trigger, but the Boltyn deck is probably an order of complexity greater. It's still been streamlined so that you'll have your soul, but you have to know a little more about how to use it and the Azalea deck. I'll be honest with you has a much higher skill cap than the first two

    I found it comical how you kept going on about how they should have picked Maxx because he needed the help more or he has fewer LL points. I couldn't figure out if you knew there was two separate Dash heroes or not. Dash, Inventor Extraordinaire is about to LL. But Dash I/O has 6 points more than Maxx, they are practically tied. I am sure this deck has been in the works for a while and when they started, Maxx would have had more LL points than Dash I/O.

    I think if they keep printing “starter product for armory event” which have no useful cards at all and a new person gets completely screwed at a local event - this person will never go back to playing FaB again.

    • @Vvulfkrit
      @Vvulfkrit  4 місяці тому

      Are you saying that all the cards in FaB outside of the staples or newly designed cards are not useful? I apologize if I was unclear, but what I was suggesting to not only put bad cards in the armory decks, I'm saying to put good cards in the deck that are already available to older players (not exclusive cards). This way the veteran players don't have to get their playsets of new cards by buying out Starter decks, because those should be used to entice new players in to the game (which is hard to do if they are bought off the shelves first by the vets).
      And lets be honest please, a new players showing up to their first FaB locals is probably getting rag dolled with whatever deck they bring and you know that. Which is not a big deal, it's common across all competitive TCG's. I believe there is a misconception that a lot of new players might leave FaB because they are getting beaten too severely, but the reality has more to do with the price of the game, the toxicity of some communities, and the dwindling player counts at locals all around the country.

      @spetz911 4 місяці тому

      @@Vvulfkrit I’m saying that their marketing is a bit misleading. Because they release “a project for new players” which is “good to go to a local armory event”.
      From my experience there is no point in going into a local armory event unless you have e a tunic and a full playset of legendary armor. So they should probably market these decks to someone who played precon blitz decks and want to level up their game. And these are not new FaB players! So I get confused when I hear that “an armory deck was nerfed and has no arcanic equipment, because they don’t want to scare new people with too much power”.
      PS: I also think they should clean up formats and replace one of the formats with Clash if they want people to stay in the game long term.

    • @spetz911
      @spetz911 4 місяці тому

      @@Vvulfkrit BTW I’m still a new player from FaB point of view because I’ve been playing precon for 3 years. And now the formats are so confusing so I don’t even know where to go next. Our local events only have CC, Blitz and Commoner. I can’t afford going to the first two(I may try it once with my armory Azaleya with some upgrades added), but other than that I don’t see much point. Commoner may give me a chance but hero’s character get lost in this limiting and I wish I could add a few cheap rares to make it more viable.
      Overall I just want to have fun with this game and being able to try a few heroes at a local event after opening a few boxes. Instead of being excluded from 66% events because I don’t have 3 C&C, bunch of Codexes and a tunic.

      @@spetz911 i think you are wrong, but just because we have local samples that would show you, we had an azalea player that played and still played without any cnc and expensive cards and was always a power player that everybody respected and even won some one of our pro quests. The thing always has been that he practiced the deck a lot and knew the matchups, these are the most important points, expensive cards give you a small edge only if you have experience with them and know what you are doing (talking about deckbuilding).

    • @Vvulfkrit
      @Vvulfkrit  4 місяці тому

      @@spetz911 Oh gotcha, ya I 100% see what you are saying now. Thank you for the response clarifying everything for me. Ya, I'd love for them to print out an Armory deck with full playsets of relevant cards like C&C's, EStrikes, AoW's, Codex's, Fyendal's, and other cards like that. It would help lower the cards costs in the market as well which will help entice new players to join and stay. I don't see how it would be a bad idea to print out Class specific big-$$$ staples in them either. A Viserai Armory Deck with the Spellbound Creepers and an Arknight Shard, or an Azalea deck that actually has Codex of Frailty in it, and so on. I was just trying to say that it makes no sense for them to make a product geared towards attracting newer players in to the game that has cards in it that are exclusive to the deck that everyone needs, because then the veterans just swarm the stores and buy the decks out lol
