Thank you very much Martyn. A perfect walkthrough for my kids to follow. Just received delivery of 2 of them along with 2 diy line following robots. Still waiting for a diy radio kit that I ordered as well.
That was great fun....thanks, Martyn! I have several different types of these Chinese BT MP3 players now that i build up from incredibly cheap parts and plastic tubes into great sounding players. Thanks!
Thanks Martyn for the video. In my bluetooth kit the are two leds doesnt work,(dont light on) but I desolders and check is ok. These leds are marked in the main with D4 and D6. Do you konw why this happend?. Thanks
If you just want a MP3 player with a built in speaker, the Retekess V115 is really quite decent. has a micro SD card. plus it's a radio so if you want to listen to the radio it gets pretty good reception. but you can also use a USB cable or line in for audio as well.
Hi, thanks for your video. I have everything ready now and everything seems to work fine except for one detail, the sound is so low that you can't hear any sound even at the highest volume. I also felt that the white panel is a bit warm. I don't know why but I got a pair of capacitors 470uF 16V in the package. The capacitor solution do not work for me. What could be the cause?
I would visually inspect the bluetooth/amp board and make sure there are no shorted wires/solder splashes and so on that might be affecting the amplifier. I haven't looked in detail at this board, but I suppose that one of the 3 chips is a class D amplifier chip, so I would look around this one for potential problems.
I built a wired speaker kit from banggood and incorporated a bt unit into it. I also found I had to run it from a plug in supply as it was drawing to much current for a smaller power brick!
As far as I know, it listens for pairing for a short time after power-on. I'm not sure that there is any way to force the player to rescan other than power-off/on. You can try doing "forget device" on your phone/tablet, switch to airplane mode and back on again, then you can be sure that it will scan and try to attach anew.
hey so yeah i want to buy this for my brother but i cant afford it wright now lol but yeah thanks for making this video so i know if i should get this or not lol so god bless and keep on keepin on ill see you in the next video also im a new subscriber

How was it
I read on one of the vendors' stores that the 470uF caps go in series with the speakers, to improve the bass response. Mind the polarity.
Series or parallel? Series wouldnt work would it? Also what does the potentiometer do?
The trim pot adjusts the threshold of clocking the LEDs. Yes, series works for the caps to speakers.
@@StevePotter Won't that filter out the higher frequencies?
Thank you for making this I had no clue how to make this and then I found this video, such a lifesaver

The modules themselves are so compact that all kinds of builds are possible.
I have the exact same kit...they never sent a instruction manual! argggh

I would probably check the corresponding pins of the 4017 to make sure that it's not shorted, and can provide a high output.
@@MartynDavies ok thanks, already is fixed. Now works properly
Great vid. Cheers from the US. Liked and Subscribed.

Thank you, Sir.

For some reason my LEDS don’t work at all and I didn’t get a spare capacitor in the box either
I would check that the 4017 chip is getting power - pins 8, 16 on that chip. If it is powered there should be one LED on.

The big brick at the end of the video can source 1.5A, so this is plenty.
A mi me llego todo apretado en una bolsa. Y sobran 2 diodos y un condensador de 470 uf que no aparece en el esquema.
Por donde lo compraste

where exactly?.can you.point it on the diagram?

I got and built this last week and it worked great for a couple of day, but nownthe BT does not show up anymore :^(

@MartynDavies I tried forget the device, and now the YMxx is not advertised anymore, lol. Checked with 2 phones
Yes that does sound busted

International shipping prices out of China seem to have increased quite a bit in the last year; I'm not sure why this is.
