I am head over heels for the three nightcrawler episodes. I come back to them at least once a year because I always have a blast with Kurt's fun side adventure about fighting pirates and getting hunted by Mojo, and his discovery of Genosha's dark side. It kills me every time, when he teleports across the entire ocean to warn his friends, only to get kicked in the face and dragged back to prison. Teleportation is a daunting skill to use to its potential without completely disarming the stakes, but it was awesome to see Kurt's powers used with real intelligence and creativity. Not every episode is stellar, and the main plot line was even boring at times but I think that's because there were so many other plot threads and side adventures that had so much to offer. Frankly, the way that so many of these plots were executed shouldn't have worked, but often did. Wolverine shouldn't be the leader, pheonix saga shouldn't suddenly happen in the finale on top of everything else, hulk shouldn't randomly have an episode cameo, etc. but the team worked hard to make these elements hold up and I think they do. The problem with the show is that it wanted to do EVERYTHING. It was torn on all the things it could be--a dark gritty show or a colorful one, a what if kinda scenario or a defininitive x men property, a spin off of the movies or a remix of the x men from the comics. It didn't want to let go of any elements, so it kinda drowned itself in all of them. I liked the writing, and it's obvious the show had a lot of creativity, even if it was clumsy about how to channel it. It's not perfect by a long shot, and I'm particularly frustrated with how they handled Scott but I loved the show's passion and I generally found the clumsiness endearing. For me, the show was worth it just for the handful of stellar moments we got: the robot Rover, gambit stealing magneto's helmet, Emma Frost's choice to be an X Man above anything else in the end, Warren's sad descent into archangel, and nightcrawler's trilogy.
Yeah and from what I heard from the creator's Twitter account later on they would do a crossover with Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes but after Disney bought Marvel nope
It’s really amazing that with all these adaptations of X-men we STILL haven’t gotten a faithful Age of Apocalypse story. It’s one of the best arcs from the comics right up there with future past and dark phoenix We’ve seen plenty of Days of Future Past and Dark Phoenix adaptations but NOT ONE AOA
You could argue the closest we got was the LEGION show basically making their own "inspired Age of Apocalypse adaptation" (much like how LOGAN film is a loosely inspired adaptation of Old man Logan).
S2 oF WATX was going to be that (at least in the future) and how awesome would that have been? An entire season dedicated to that. And I could see sometimes they did the right thing in the present which just cements that future more.
Fun Fact: *"Wolverine and the X-Men"* was also the title for a proposed film between 1989 & 1990 for both Carolco & Lightstorm Entertainment that was to be directed by Kathryn Bigelow (one of James Cameron's then-wives), written by Gary Goldman and Cameron himself as the producer. Bob Hoskins was slated to be Wolverine (no joke) and Angela Bassett was to be Storm. But the *"X-Men"* film went into development hell after Stan Lee picqued Cameron's interests about doing a film based on *"Spider-Man".* Sadly, his vision of the web-slinging hero would also never come to fruition, but a concept from Cameron's treatment was kept in the Raimi film trilogy: the organic web-shooters.
@@xgray2012 For me, Scott McNeil will always be THE Rattrap, Dinobot and Waspinator, while Steve Blum will always be THE Spike Spiegel, BlackWarGreymon, and Orochimaru. So hearing him as Wolverine is a win-win for me.
Me too Steven Blum is truly one of my favourite voice actors as the man is a phenomenal talent that has given incredible and down right perfect performances as iconic and fantastic characters defining countless generations, such as of course Wolverine, but also Spike Spiegel, Ben 10, Subzero, and Baraka etc... and countless other stellar voice performances
I actually really love how much praise Doug has for X-Men Evolution now since watching and reviewing it I agree completely with his views on each show X-Men TAS is the definitive adaptation of the comics and Evolution is a great reimagining with more focus on characters whereas Wolverine and the X-Men is set up to relate to the Fox movies
Yet another criminally underrated Marvel cartoon that deserved better, I'll admit I do prefer X-Men Evolution and the 90's series a bit more, but I still really appreciate and like the direction of this series. I also really appreciated the darker tone and characters like Emma Frost, Nightcrawler, Wanda, Logan, Magneto, Mr Sinister etc... I also like the B plot surrounding The Days of Future Past storyline.
@@milkiassamuel780 His episodes in the 90's show were some of my favorites. This is my favorite X-Men cartoon. I do like the 90's version, and it's pretty definitive, but it had some really low lows.
Fun fact: officially, the Earth number in this show is the same one as Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (which I'm sure is in this Disneycember). That means the Wolverine that is in this show is the same one that appears in EMH.
Nope, not yet in disneycember, hope we get it this year 2024, that show is part of the marvel cartoon trinity, along with x men TAS and spectacular spider man
Fun fact: does the voice of Polaris sound familiar to you? If you grew up watching Disney Channel in the 2000s, it should. Liza Del Mundo did a whole bunch of Disney Channel bumpers.
same. I've seen all 3 though and Wolverine and the X-men is by far my favorite. The 90-s show was very a much a product of its time, plus had all those bright costumes and all. Evolution was very childish, focused on main characters' school problems. WaTXM by far was the most mature and well-balanced, easily watchable for adults. My guess is they also wanted to get adult audiences with it, not just kids.
@IStevenSeagal I'm calling Evolution childish because it literally deals with school problems, not something appealing to me as an adult. It deals with a lot of mature themes, but at the same time most of the main characters are immature kids, unlike WaTXM. I've watched the whole show a week ago and I don't really get the praise it gets. Some episodes are amazing, but mostly the show is pretty average. What pissed me off the most is how they stretched the Apocalypse story for the whole season. First they introduce him, then show nothing but filler in episodes 2-7 like nothing happened. 90-s series dealt with a lot of mature topics, but again, the tone, the visuals, the animation - it screamed being aimed mostly at kids. And length doesn't matter, the quality does. I've already watched WaTXM about 5 times, enjoying it every time, showing it to several of my friends, they all liked it. Can't say I'll ever watch 90-s show(maybe the continuation 97 version) or Evolution ever again.
@IStevenSeagal Nope, everyone's different and prefers different things. I'm not a causal(in that case I wouldn't have watched all animated shows, movies and Legion TV show), neither I'm a hardcore fan, I guess I'm somewhere inbetween. I guess I could call myself a fan of First Class and Days of Future Past movies, because those were brilliant, and of course I REALLY love Wolverine and the X-men. When it comes to Marvel I'm a fan of Agents of SHIELD seasons 2-7, due to their brilliant storytelling, character development and plot twists, along with fantastic VFX and soundtrack by Bear Mccreary.
This show actually takes a lot more from the comics at the time than the movies. I also think it takea place in the same universe as the Hulk Vs animated movies.
Yeah it takes place in the Yostverse where Avengers EMH and most of Liongates films take place for example Hulk Vs. Wolverine takes place before Wolverine and the X-Men and Avengers EMH meanwhile Thor takes place after Avengers EMH
@@YungandRekless545he didn’t grow up with X-Men Evolution and has praised that a lot but his praise for X-Men the Animated series is out of the ordinary as it’s the definitive adaptation of the comics and heaps of the people love that version A lot of people share Doug’s opinions when it comes to Wolverine and the X-Men
I've heard Steve Blum voice Starscream with a scratchier voice. He sounded perfect there, so I'm think if he did that with Wolverine, he would've just made him sound super evil.
This was the only X Men cartoon to air on Nicktoons, because Marvel originally was going to air the cartoon on Kids WB before it folded in 2008. Also the final Marvel cartoon to ever air on a non-Disney network!
@@denickartthe Superhero Squad was airing around the same time on CN prior to Disney’s Marvel buyout. The Marvel anime on G4 were originally aired in Japan, we’re talking about original Marvel cartoons on rival kids networks since the Disney buyout.
@@denickart it ended due to Disney’s buyout, but I’m talking about brand new Marvel cartoons from the late 2000s, since lot of Marvel cartoons aired on different networks, since both Wolverine and Superhero Squad debuted in 2009. Marvel also ended Spectacular Spider Man around the same time!
You should try "Wolverine Vs Hulk" if you haven't already, Steve Blum reprises the role. It's a more adult cartoon movie with lots of violence and blood. It also has the best Deadpool, Nolan North.
Was really into this series when it aired on nicktoons back in the day could've sworn this had more than one season one of my favorite versions of the x men right after evolution once Disney plus launched this is one of the show's I immediately wanted to go back and watch again 😊😊
I can understand and even agree with Doug's points. However, this series is probably my personal favorite of the X-Men shows. I like the 90s and Evolution series just fine, but if I had seen this show a little earlier in my childhood I would have adore it all the more. It had the right amount of action, drama, and dark edge that I would have wanted to see more of in the other shows. This show should have definitely gotten another season and who knows how much better it could have gotten 😎.
After watching this video, I found it a bit surprising that it didn't include mention of the episode where the team encountered a mutant whose explosion power could only be contained by the mutant holding facilities Senator Kelly set up.
It’s okay man it’s your opinion I loved the show the characters like Emma,Magneto I actually like Cyclops tragedy and seriousness and Wolverine voice and his character the animation was good this was my X-men but i would love to give this another season

When I think of the X-Men, this is what comes to mind first. This was my favourite show as a kid, and it's what made me track down the films once First Class came out. It blends the stuff from the comics like the insane costumes with the attitudes of the films very well. Not bad for a series where they weren't allowed to kill anyone! And honestly, its the connection to the films that helps it for me. We didn't have the other shows, but we did have the films. This felt like it could potentially be set a few years after X-Men II in a world where X-Men III didn't happen. To a lot of people, this is who the characters are. You talk about how the characters don't feel right, but this is where many kids in the UK discovered the X-Men, so these ARE what these characters are like, Miserable Prick Cyclops being a notable one.
I think I like Evolution and this compared to the original 90s Animated Series mostly for the more modern voice acting. The 90s voice acting, while great for the time, is not something I can go back to easily since Batman: The Animated Series, which has amazing voice acting that has aged beautifully, came out in the same era.
What I enjoyed about this show is that it really aped the future of the comics. Wolverine increasingly became more of a leader and less of a brainless thug, while Cyclops became more of a miserable piece of crap. It was a little paint by numbers in terms of things it needed to do, but I feel like it changed up enough to be its own thing.
I like what this show was trying to do, and how different it was from X-men Evolution. But I just couldn't get over how Cyclops and Wolverine basically switched personalities.... even with Scott's one cool episode, it just was SO trying to make Wolverine something other than he is
They didn’t get a season two because the company making the toys backed out due to low sales and the show was being funded by that company so once they were gone and they couldn’t get another backer in short time it got canceled. So it’s like what happened with Young Justice (though that at least got two seasons till Mattel pulled the plug) which is also on that toy company’s fault because there was zero advertising for the toys. No ads in magazines, no tv commercials, nothing. I only found out there was action figures by pure coincidence as a local regional store called Newbury’s had some and I do regret a bit not getting the one of Emma Frost at that time as they were just under ten bucks.
I actually really liked this series when it came out. Sure, I didn't like it as much as the Fox Kids X-Men, but the idea of Professor Xavier being gone, and Wolverine having to lead the X-Men, was a really interesting take on the classic characters. Also, you can't go wrong with Steve Blum as a voice actor. That guy is a legend! Just like Rob Paulsen, and Tim Curry.
For those wondering, the show was cancelled after 1 season because it was greenlit by Marvel to promote the Fox movies in a pre-mcu era. When Iron Man came out, they greenlit a cartoon called Armored Adventures as a way to promote their own film series, and cancelled this, which was promoting a rival studio.
Hey Doug! Great to see another Disneycember video from you! :) If you don't mind me asking, what are you going to talk about for Christmas? I have a good suggestion you could talk about. The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special Trust me when I say this is probably the best thing associated with the Sequel Trilogy, outside of the the Lego Skywalker Saga video game (As a side note, you should also play that game next year on your twitch stream.)
Even though I like Cal Dodd as Wolverine, to me, Steve Blum really nailed it as the clawed man himself. Is it any wonder why he was called back to play as Wolverine in other Marvel shows since.
It really sucks that Wolverine & the X-Men only had 1 season. I really wanted to see the X-Men try to prevent the future where Apocalypse took over. That, and I wish that the show was slightly more mature when it came to the combat. It wasn't bad or anything, but Wolverine was seriously underutilized when it came to the usage of his claws.
@@Hulavuta This still, this show did have quite a bit of a mature edge to it. I still can't believe that they included a character like Emma Frost in the show. A mutant, who is infamous for wearing some of the skimpiest and revealing outfits in all of Marvel. Or the amount of cleavage Domino was showing when she was a member of the Brotherhood.
@@OmnicidalClown1992 Yeah, I think sexy stuff sometimes has an easier way of getting through the censors than violent stuff. But even in the PG-13 X-Men movies, they couldn't show much of Wolverine ever actually cutting anyone
@@Hulavuta Other than showing Mystique in all her glory... She was the ultimate commando whenever she was onscreen. And then there was the time when she lost her powers in the Original Timeline.

Speaking of Cal Dodd, an animated series I recommend, even though I know you'll mock the Hell out of it's acting and animation, Doug, is Ace Lightening. It's a UK show about a kid named Mark, whose video game called Ace Lightning comes to life from a lightning bolt after he unlocks a mysterious level seven, and suddenly, Mark meets his video game hero, Ace, who's a superhero known as a Lightning Knight. Together, they have to fight against the game's antagonists, Lord Fear and his Carnival of Doom, made up of henches like Lady Illusion, Googler, Anvil, etc. The goal is to find missing pieces of an ancient Amulet of Zoar; each piece they find can unlock new characters or weapons from the game, and all of this superhero work becomes taxing on Mark's personal life at school with his friends and home with his family. But I digress. Call Dodd voices a character named Random Virus- 🙄😅Yeah, yeah. Haha, I know. But his character is still interesting; a cyborg Lightning Knight, who suffers from Dissociative Personality Disorder, due to two clashing programs, causing him to either be an ally to Ace and Mark, or an enemy, serving Lord Fear. I never realized when I first watched Ace Lightning that freaking *Wolverine* voiced one of the supporting characters. Random Virus: "How can you trust me, if I can't even trust myself, Ace?" Ace Lightning: "Because you're my friend." Random Virus: "Today, but I don't wanna find out what I could be tomorrow." Ace Lightning: "Tomorrow... you'll *still* be my friend." If you get the chance, look it up, Doug.
Although Wolverine and The X-Men doesn’t hold a candle to the 90s Series and Evolution There’s still some great things about it Such as Professor X struggling to survive in the future against The Sentinels and I also really like some of the voice acting Steve Blum is a great Wolverine Clancy Brown is good as Mr Sinister And Tom Kane is IMO the best and most menacing voice for Magneto
I would add one the best adaptation of Nightcrawler, Angel (with one the best adaptation of his transformation into Archangel) and specially Emma Frost
@@alexandrefrauches132 I agree with Emma Frost Though I prefer Nightcrawler and Angel’s characters in Evolution Kinda felt Angel not turning into archangel in that show was a nice change of pace
Doug Last Year: I enjoyed Evolution but don't know it's as good as X-Men TAS. Doug This Year: Wolverine and the X-Men has its moments but it's no Evolution.
I feel like with this show, a lot of it is because they took influence from the movies and he does not really like the movies so it results in him not enjoying the show.
@@chasehedges6775 wouldn't have made so many and so much money if they were "hit and miss". First Class and Days of Future Past being their peak. X2 was also excellent.
When i first saw this series the visuals definitely were more Evolution, but the story narrative and what it was doing felt like it was trying to be a successor to the 1990s X-Men. Which to be honest it did pretty well in places, not so much in others. But it hit me with nostalgia for both shows and it kept my attention. Honestly if it had been greenlit for another season I think it could have gone further than what it did. There felt like just enough from both shows to bring in return viewers from both fanbases, but the details that felt like they were inspired by the live-action movies (and perhaps the Wolverine anime) held it back a little from really blossoming. I say that in part to certain design choices like Logan being so tall and hugh jackman-esque. On the whole though this was a pretty great show that perhaps was hindered by the time period in which it came out more than any other factor. Were it to return today with a new season i'd probably be eager to check it out all over again.
According to the scripts for the season 2: The Operation Zero Tolerance would have been approved by Director Kelly after his kidnapping by Magneto. Magneto being captured by the MRD after rescuing a mutant named Shiro (Sunfire). New characters would have appeared as Cameron Hodge, Victor Borwoski (Anole), Callisto, Lucid, Gazer, Unus, Kimura, Kestrel, John Sublime, Maria Callasantos (Feral) Apocalypse directing Weapon X from the shadows. The Legacy Cure by Kavita Rao; eventually she would have performed a Heel-Face Turn and abandoned the project. Pyro would have joined to the Brotherhood of Mutants. The MRD would have invaded Genosha, forcing Wanda and Lorna to move the population to Wundagore and finally to Avalon.
Another plotline from the comics I would have liked to see is the X-Men finding out Weapon X is the 10th iteration of the ongoing Weapon Plus projects, the first of which turned Steve Rogers into the first Captain America.

You know with how those X-men adaptations goes it's intriguing how they change the characters or make their roles and acts more similar, with few of those making unique change to them, like for example i noticed Gambit is actually a heroic protagonist in 92 tv series, while in most of those he is either anti-villain or antagonist (like in this version), for Proffesor X in all of adaptations he is ultimate force of good, being esentially closest to pure good person (the least of it seems to be in 92 version, but even then he disposed most of his questionable traits, admiting his mistakes and stayed pure of heart), the same could be said for preety much anyone but that would be too much.
Episode 20 (Breakdown) was my favorite episode of the season because it focused more on Cyclops and his background. Having Emma read his mind was a clever way to do a flashback episode.
Huh, never heard anyone complain about Steve's voice being too smooth lol I always thought his Wolverine was flawless, and really captured the snarl and animal tone, but still being able to deliver really great dialogue when needed. He's by far my favorite voice of Wolverine, with weirdly enough Mark Hamil being in my top 5 when he voiced him for a game lol
Legit grew up with this show and learnt so much about X-Men because of it as it was the only thing Australian TV would play besides the fox movies and the super hero squad show.

Hated how they made Cyclops. Yeah, he's in love with Jean Grey, but...that's about his only defining characteristic in this show. Scott Summers IS the X-Men. The moment Wolverine---WOLVERINE of all people---told Scott, "Of you're going be here, BE HERE," the show lost credibility for me. The hypocrisy of Logan saying that to Cyclops is beyond laughable. Other than that, yeah, it was a "okay" X-Men show.
I love Wolverine and the X-Men. I'd be willing to say it's one of the best animated X-Men adaptations ever. The story, the concepts, the animation, the character motivations, there's just so much to love about it. The fact it's actually canon to the Hulk vs Wolverine short film is even more interesting as it opens a few plotholes, but, if you squint, you KINDA understand how the two fit together regardless. I had to go above and beyond to find the whole series on DVD, though, all second-hand because they stopped releasing new copies a long time ago here in Australia, even before Disney decided to stiff Australia by halting ALL physical media here. I'm among the many so upset we never got to see what season 2 would've been like. They built up so much, it was impossible not to be excited for the next mission the reunited X-Men were to face together. Really sucks they never will

I remember Kurt teleporting across the ocean to this very day and I haven’t watched this show since I was a kid
I only saw this show once, long ago, and Kurt's episodes really stuck with me, especially his teleporting across the ocean! He was my favorite part.
I really loved this show when it aired on Nicktoons. Too bad it only lasted for one season.
Airing on Nicktoons was it's kiss of death.
It’s one of the best arcs from the comics right up there with future past and dark phoenix
We’ve seen plenty of Days of Future Past and Dark Phoenix adaptations but NOT ONE AOA
You could argue the closest we got was the LEGION show basically making their own "inspired Age of Apocalypse adaptation" (much like how LOGAN film is a loosely inspired adaptation of Old man Logan).
If Evolution had continued maybe it could have worked as a season long story arc.
Didn't the '92 animated series have AoA?
@@louisduarte8763I believe they did something along the lines
S2 oF WATX was going to be that (at least in the future) and how awesome would that have been? An entire season dedicated to that. And I could see sometimes they did the right thing in the present which just cements that future more.
Fun Fact:
*"Wolverine and the X-Men"*
was also the title for a proposed film between 1989 & 1990 for both
Carolco & Lightstorm Entertainment that was to be directed by Kathryn Bigelow (one of James Cameron's then-wives), written by Gary Goldman and Cameron himself as the producer.
Angela Bassett I could see as Storm Bob Haskins as Wolverine, heck no!
Maybe it’s just because Steven Bloom is one of my favorite voice actors but he did a great job being wolverine this one
Now I can't decide if I like Steven Jay Blum or Scott McNeil as the voice of Wolverine.
@@xgray2012 For me, Scott McNeil will always be THE Rattrap, Dinobot and Waspinator,
while Steve Blum will always be THE Spike Spiegel, BlackWarGreymon, and Orochimaru.
My sister and my favourite line from this show for a while was
"At the moment the X-Men consists of you, me and a stolen MRS Helicopter."
I love that line.
I actually really love how much praise Doug has for X-Men Evolution now since watching and reviewing it
I agree completely with his views on each show
X-Men TAS is the definitive adaptation of the comics and Evolution is a great reimagining with more focus on characters whereas Wolverine and the X-Men is set up to relate to the Fox movies
X-Men: Evolution is an adaptation of the Marvel Comics with X-Men like Pryde of the X-Men, X-Men: The Animated Series of the 1990's and the movies.
@@LooneyCartoonMan yeah everyone knows that
Yet another criminally underrated Marvel cartoon that deserved better, I'll admit I do prefer X-Men Evolution and the 90's series a bit more, but I still really appreciate and like the direction of this series. I also really appreciated the darker tone and characters like Emma Frost, Nightcrawler, Wanda, Logan, Magneto, Mr Sinister etc... I also like the B plot surrounding The Days of Future Past storyline.
Nightcrawler was probably my favorite character.
@@bowserbreaker2515 Oh definitely Nightcrawler was pretty good in this show. Nightcrawler is honestly my favourite X-Men member in general
@@milkiassamuel780 His episodes in the 90's show were some of my favorites. This is my favorite X-Men cartoon. I do like the 90's version, and it's pretty definitive, but it had some really low lows.
The show was a combo of Evolution, the films, and the Morrison & Whedon comic runs. Sad the financing did not come through for the second series.
This show combined some of the best arcs in X-Men history into one big, overarching plot. And I loved it, to be honest
Fun fact: officially, the Earth number in this show is the same one as Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (which I'm sure is in this Disneycember). That means the Wolverine that is in this show is the same one that appears in EMH.

Fun fact: does the voice of Polaris sound familiar to you? If you grew up watching Disney Channel in the 2000s, it should. Liza Del Mundo did a whole bunch of Disney Channel bumpers.
This is my favorite X-Men show, with Evolution being a close second and the 90s being one I unfortunately haven't seen yet.
@IStevenSeagal I wouldn't say so, but so far I've enjoyed most of the X-men shows and movies I've seen.
This was my first introduction to X men even before I knew what marvel was it use to play on Nicktoons
Im still of the opinion that Xmen haven’t had a bad show yet
Unless you count Pryde of the X-men. But we don't like to talk about that one.

I've heard Steve Blum voice Starscream with a scratchier voice. He sounded perfect there, so I'm think if he did that with Wolverine, he would've just made him sound super evil.
This cartoon series was also confirmed to take place in avengers Earth‘s mightiest heroes universe
I was kinda fascinated with the odd romances they had.
This was the only X Men cartoon to air on Nicktoons, because Marvel originally was going to air the cartoon on Kids WB before it folded in 2008. Also the final Marvel cartoon to ever air on a non-Disney network!
There were also Wolverine, X Men, Iron Man, and Blade anime on G4 and The Superhero Squad on Cartoon Network in the 2010s
@@denickartthe Superhero Squad was airing around the same time on CN prior to Disney’s Marvel buyout. The Marvel anime on G4 were originally aired in Japan, we’re talking about original Marvel cartoons on rival kids networks since the Disney buyout.

You should try "Wolverine Vs Hulk" if you haven't already, Steve Blum reprises the role. It's a more adult cartoon movie with lots of violence and blood. It also has the best Deadpool, Nolan North.

It had the right amount of action, drama, and dark edge that I would have wanted to see more of in the other shows. This show should have definitely gotten another season and who knows how much better it could have gotten 😎.

Had the show been longer, there would have seen Apocalypse and the Dark Phoenix Saga
There is a show that doesn’t get talked about enough. Iron Man Armored Adventures.
I will say, I really enjoyed this show's take on Emma Frost.
This is my favorite X-Men show, I really love the story, and animation style to it, and I also love the TAS one as well.
I like what this show was trying to do, and how different it was from X-men Evolution. But I just couldn't get over how Cyclops and Wolverine basically switched personalities.... even with Scott's one cool episode, it just was SO trying to make Wolverine something other than he is
I actually really liked this show when I first watched it.
Sure, I didn't like it as much as the Fox Kids X-Men, but the idea of Professor Xavier being gone, and Wolverine having to lead the X-Men,
was a really interesting take on the classic characters. Also, you can't go wrong with Steve Blum as a voice actor. That guy is a legend! Just like Rob Paulsen, and Tim Curry.
Merry Christmas Bub!!
It was my favorite cartoon of my childhood
Forgotten this was a thing.
Hell, the funny thing was that there was an anime of X-Men years later after this series.
If you don't mind me asking, what are you going to talk about for Christmas? I have a good suggestion you could talk about.
The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special
Trust me when I say this is probably the best thing associated with the Sequel Trilogy, outside of the the Lego Skywalker Saga video game (As a side note, you should also play that game next year on your twitch stream.)
Probably because it was a Nicktoons show, unfortunately

X-Men Evolution was THE SHIT. Having said that… this was a show I appreciated.
Random Virus: "How can you trust me, if I can't even trust myself, Ace?"
Ace Lightning: "Because you're my friend."
Random Virus: "Today, but I don't wanna find out what I could be tomorrow."
Ace Lightning: "Tomorrow... you'll *still* be my friend."
If you get the chance, look it up, Doug.

You know Doug is gonna play the Wolverine game ;)
According to the scripts for the season 2:
The Operation Zero Tolerance would have been approved by Director Kelly after his kidnapping by Magneto.
Magneto being captured by the MRD after rescuing a mutant named Shiro (Sunfire).
New characters would have appeared as Cameron Hodge, Victor Borwoski (Anole), Callisto, Lucid, Gazer, Unus, Kimura, Kestrel, John Sublime, Maria Callasantos (Feral)
Apocalypse directing Weapon X from the shadows.

This show was my introduction to The X-Men. I understand your points, though.
I like how the show's style & character designs also take inspiration from the Astonishing X-Men comics. Especially Wolverine & Cyclops.

Yeah this universe is called the Yost universe named after Christopher Yost the guy who worked on many of these animated projects for Marvel. This universe is my personal favorite.
not sure it takes place in the same universe, as Bruce doesn't know Wolverine in their second meeting in the show. I mean Wolverine remembers The Hulk and Hulk remembers Wolverine, but it pretends like their meeting as Bruce being himself never happened.
This was my favorite X-Men series since the 90s series.
I hope he checks Avengers EMH
He didnt even mention the character development they gave nightcrawler. He was my favorite character in this show.
my childhood show
