I watched ouran relatively recently and I actually really loved it despite its flaws. For a satire its actually very heartfelt and emotional; I cried multple times when watching it lmfao. Also Cheshire is a place in england and its pronouced 'Cheh-shuh' lol!

I had the biggest host club hyper focus when I was younger, and as a humongous Honey fan in 4th grade, I got a usa-chan plushie (I still have it) and brought it to a pajama day and had to explain who he was to everyone. I also have a honey painting on my wall, and have watched the show over 10 times.

Nah thr twins fight is deff a 9/10 like you said! When watching it for the first time it changes your opinion on the twins and feels like the first episode in the series thats less fluffy and deepens the characters. Its my favorite episode in the serious for that reason ❤

Also since Haruhi’s dad still refers to themselves as her dad, I’m pretty sure they’re not trans but a cross dresser which are a same difference, so out of work and during work he’s still refer to as her father but during work they go back she/her pronouns. At the end of the day they’re still a neglectful parent ngl
To me it reads as a byproduct of how Haruhi’s mom’s death has affected the family. Ranko has to work himself to the bone to provide for Haruhi while keeping up a cheerful attitude, as Haruhi herself has shown a sense of self preservation and inability to ask others for help. So it’s fairly easy to understand the multitude of issues that comes from these personalities .
though i love it i just hated tamaki for a lotttt of the series, esp that scene where he said that there's "nothing to gain" in a lesbian relationship, the moments where he was weirdly possessive and transphobic over haruhi, like ewwww also that scene where tamaki literallt called haruhi's dad the t slur??????? hes giving homophobic homosexual and he genuinlt made me uncomfy in some scenes though i get why ppl like this anime some moments just made me feel very iffy, i can tell it's an older anime lol

you're the first person i hear say that there is no need for a s2! honestly it drives me crazy when people ask for a s2 bc the anime and manga are indeed both good but they diverge enough that the manga's continuation wouldn't make sense with where the anime left off. and it ends in such a good way that even the mangaka took inspiration from it for the end of the manga. and it's been so long they would make ugly redesigns of the characters a lá black butler and i wouldn't be able to stand it

interesting, i thought the “boy lolita” was a reference to the lolita aesthetic in japan that is characterized by a “frilly/cutesy/doll/princess like” style. lolita, outside of japan, does have a connotation of a young girl with sexual desire because of the book of the same title by vladimir nabokov but the two actually have no connection. the lolita aesthetic has nothing to do with sexuality (actually it came about as a way to push back against sexualization) which is a common misconception ! i unfortunately don’t know what is truly the case for ouran but in case in anyone who sees this video and is curious, hope this helps!
