I know im freaking late but seriously, Fantagio really produced such a great idol/trainee especially in terms of dancing. I mean like their dancing skill could be called perfect. Just look Astro. Aside from Fantagio another company that produce all rounded idol will be Pledis. Pledis has it all, dancer, singer, visual, lyricist, composer and producer just from their own idols.

actually, this is not "that bad". they don't look exhausted or out of breath, they dance well and have a good synchro. then, some of them have already good vocals, but need a bit more of practice. fighting girls. ♥
Well the reason they're not out of breath is cause they didn't dance for the whole 3-4 mins like the original. Not saying they danced bad tho', it was pretty good, the high kick too. But obvi their vocals need working lol which they probably will improve on

Well, she doesn't proved here A quality here in this video. Judges evaluates them in through what they saw, not through how the trainees can do in the future
Edison Guevarra i didn't say she's A quality here but how could they put her in the same level as Sohye and Risa? at least she should be B or C. But well it doesn't matter now anyways, i'm just saying though.
Sorry to add to this old thread, but I think it's because her voice doesn't fit her part, so it ended up sounding off-putting. Even if she's a good singer, she wasn't able to sing well for this song specifically because it doesn't match her voice.

Oji Nguyen I did find Yoojung didn't do a great job here and the high note wasn't good either
《 Linh Ng 》 But the high note was most likely a scream, her voice is too thin and light for the high note. Plus she wasn't that stable after the high note and her dancing is good but not the best. Being able to do a high note does not make you a good singer. But for Yoojung, I think she should be in B cuz she is very good just needs a lot more improvement.
솔직히 이제는 알고봐서 그런가 눈길이 도연이로 시작해서 유정이로 끝남 근데 모르고 보면 싱크로율이 너무 좋아서 오히려 개성이 잘안보이는듯 옷이랑 머리스타일도 다똑같아서 그나마 얼굴로 도연이가 눈길이 자꾸가서 도연이만 상위였나봄 ㅠㅠㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Apparently she was the best at covering 'Pick me' outta the contestants, her voice didn't crack as most of them, she wasn't struggling with the breath control, and her dance moves were v sharp and precise.

everyone should stop comparing how the trainees did the cover vs. the original. The idols(non-veteran ones) practice their debuts and comebacks more than 3 months. If you estimated how long these trainees practiced the songs it's more or less 1 month.

Kind of don’t understand how idols during n after debut use filters n auto tune n major heavy manipulation in their voice…but on these shows there’s pure raw vocals.
Many see the vocals as “bad” because they’re raw, but it can’t be helped when you show everyone these manipulated voices as idols. The comparison almost makes it seem like these girls *dont* belong in the line up because of their raw vocals and poor vocals when dancing.
And maybe that’s the point? It’s either they want to showcase extraordinary vocals n dance in combo that stick out, as “proof” that they’re “deserved” while the other girls aren’t. So it goes to whoever sounds less “bad” Or it’s a situation of sorts where so long as you’ve shown your raw vocals at some point in the beginning of your career to showcase your talent, you no longer need to do it after debut, because now it’s “known” you’ve got “talent” Or it’s a situation where you’re hoping no ones heard your raw vocals and so you cover it up.
There are so many idols who make a song and sound *nothing* like their on record vocals in live and it’s a shame. It shouldn’t be that way. Obviously it’s “art” and with “art” comes manipulating life to fit your vision (though it’s the company’s vision not the idols)however there’s gotta be a point where people can hear why you’re so “worthy” of being someone they look up to vocally. That means skill in voice or in mixing and showcasing why someone with a better voice, or great mixing skills can’t replace you.
Idols/celebrities who say they can sing n dance should be able to do so without missing a beat. After all, that’s their selling point. Slip ups n miss haps happen but it happens so frequently the question of “can they really sing” is on many’s mind.
There’s a delicate balance between manipulation a voice for art and processing the vocals enough to do it more than a couple times in your career. If you can sing, do it. Don’t rely on some backtrack and pre-recorded track to do it. If you can dance and sing, you better be able to do it. These are “professionals” no? That means they’ve trained years in singing and dancing so why’s it so many lack that ability, more than a few times for it to be questioned?
Nothing against these girls, just more so on idols. Obviously a songs recorded without the audience, the dance, or much moving of any kind and will always sound more “perfect” but a live performance shouldn’t be so far from the track that it’s almost unrecognizable. Some stations have their standards where pre-recorded tracks are a *must* and that’s understandable. It’s preferred in many areas and can’t fight against it, wouldn’t blame them.
It’s just seeing live idols sing so off key, so frequently in multiple live performances and then putting out a song that masks their voices as perfect angels gives such an unreal expectation when listening to Produce 101 or Girls Planet 999. It’s such an odd contrast.
Exactly my thoughts, some trainees on survival shows sing way better than some old already debuted groups not gonna say names but ⬛💟😆😅

Wondering if society will get back to the point where being an idol/celebrity means exposing your talent multiple times rather than covering it up, or we remain on course and only appreciate anyone with a body that’s good enough and looks well while moving because live singing is no longer wanted or needed because it’d expose an elephant in the room. Ignoring reality to see perfection because of a fraudulent dream is purposed kind of seems to be the norm despite being widely disliked with people or seemingly disliked by people.
Just off to see people call them idols and people chose to look up to a person who assumes the role of a singer, dancer and very talented figure, something that’s most definitely not the norm for the majority in society or even achievable due to lack of talent in those fields. When to be in their position you’re simply required to do the choreo and smile. An idol, role model or looked up to figure is someone that’s achieved what you can not or have trouble achieving or have yet to achieve. They are suppose to be better than the average and able to showcase why they’re better in friendly fashion which then boosts the moral of others to follow their dreams, be it an idol or something else.
Technically an idol, role model and figure is someone who can’t even be equal and for good reason, they have something you see as desirable, be it personality or talent, and you hold them in high regard for it to eventually become as close to your idol as possible in your own body.

I remembered these five contestants of Produce 101 Korea Season 1 represented Fantagio where there's three Weki Meki members (Elly, Choi Yoojung and Kim Doyeon), Lee Soomin who will be in new girl group of Mystic Story and Chu Yejin who is now concentrating on her acting career performed this debut song of GFriend. I'm happy what they doing right now in their respective paths.
