I always got the bad ending; but only because I didn't know how to use the ghost bait to stop the Marshmallow Man from destroying the buildings (and each building destroyed is a $4,000 fine)
There's also a neutral ending if you make it to the Zuul building but can't get past the Marshmellow Man guarding the entrance. You're told Gozer took over but you still get a cash bonus and new password for your efforts.
@@mresturk9336 oh really? That's interesting to know! By any chance, do you know what the money total is to get the message to go to the Zuul building?
@@koryandrews1665 In the C64 version you have to surpass the amount of money you started with in order the reach the Zuul building. So if you are using passwords to start with a fortune and spending recklessly you are making it harder to reach the Zuul building.
@@mresturk9336 i never knew of any passwords for the game when i was a kid. Lol i either used the standard Ecto-1 or the dark blue station wagon, and sometimes on occasion the volkswagen beetle
I always lost at this game, but it was fun to play. The only thing I never could figure out is how to stop the marshmallow man from destroying buildings.
I played the spectrum version fairly recently, I was impressed by the speech. I reckon there might be more spectrum games with speech compared to the c64. :)
You are bringing back child trauma lol!! I remember getting the bad ending a frustrating number of times. Until I figured out the hack for getting free money. I don’t remember what it is ( and I confess I skimmed through your video a bit, so I’m not sure if you mentioned it.) but it has something to do with it the bait and the ghost vacuum or something like that. There’s some sort of trick that let you keep on going, and just get infinite money out of it if I recall correctly. I am going on my childhood memory from literally what, 35 years ago? Lol great video. PS I would also struggle for the longest time to get through the stay pufft marshmallow man’s feet before dying too many times. That was extremely frustrating!
Lo, I have the cheat engranded in my mind, for the account you use the name Andy, and the account number is 777. I don't believe it works on every version, the one I'm fairly sure it works on is the ricochet release :) I still intend on recording the proper ending , I don't usually get this one :D
Oh, dang, yeah, the High Performance car is a trap. It has lower capacity than the second-best car and costs so much that it's nearly impossible to make up for it. I always bought the hearse for $4800... cheap *and* authentic (that's the actual Ecto-1, and that's how much they bought it for in the film) :D
This was the REAL Activision as I call it. The Activision that was ahead of Atari in a telephone booklet. The Activision that gave you prizes for sending in your top scores (with proof). The Activision that paid their designers less, but gave them significant royalties when their games were successful. The Activision that gave their designers on-screen credit The Activision that had their designer's photo in the instruction booklet with a biography. The Activision that had other companies whose founders started at Activision (and those companies were ahead of Activision in a telephone booklet). Once that Activision went bankrupt, Bobby Kotick bought the company, that was it. All Bobby wanted was the name, nothing more.

I always got the bad ending when i was a kid. Never could make enough money to trigger the Zuul building good ending
I generally get the good ending, I'm not %100 sure why that's the case but I keep saying it, I will do it with the good ending one-day :D

You have to buy the bait box at the start of the game, then press B as soon as you see the ghosts start to assemble 🙂
Love ghostbusters the speech was impressive I thought I had the speccy version back in the day

Can't escape paying your bills even when the world is ending.
So true :D

27:59. That's where gozer kills people. While laughing
I really need to redo this with the proper ending :)
That's my dad I'm checking his vids on April 2nd
The evil laugth at the end 😈
Yep that's Gozer. Killing people
You have chosen the High Performance car :)
i did love this game as a keeeed.
Oh man. After all that.
I know lol, I really should do it again 😁
Agh, I wouldn't. Always preferred the Megadrive version.
@@Emulous79 I might actually give that one a go. But I have heard that the other versions are really tough.

Methinks you intended to do that (heh heh). 😉
Nope, I intended to win :D I've yet to try again :D
@@SelfIndulgentGamer I stand corrected, then. 🙂
Do not cheat ! 😉 Anyway you need to earn more money or do not buy too much 😉. Then you can win the game
I don't need to cheat :D
