    Great song! Rather than sliding up to the 7th fret, you can play the second fret G string if it's easier. They are both A notes.

      You could, but if you listen to the track they are clearly doing a big slide into that note, and out of that note down to the next note. So the note would right on the G string at 2, but the articulation won’t. (Or rather than right/wrong, I just mean it won’t sound like how they played it.)The slide isn’t difficult, it’s just unusual because it’s a longer slide than you’re used to. If you slow down and learn to do it cleanly then speed it up, you’ll find it becomes pretty easy. That slide articulation is what makes the rhythm lick sound interesting. You can do whatever you want to and if you’re having fun doing it, that’s great. I refer you to my comments at 7:58.
