Micro Machines were fun. My brother had some and I played with them with him. I always appreciated the fast paced commercial for sure! Love those late 80/90s commercials...they have gone down hill.

This takes me back to the 90's when I grew up. We kept some micro machine cars in our pencil boxes so we would have them at school!!!!

The micro machine Nintendo game (possibly Super Nintendo) was so much fun to play.

Looks like another stunning book from Bitmap books. Never collected them myself but loved the 16bit games that were released in the 90s. Remember the one where you could plug in an extra couple of controllers into the actual cartridge. Great times.

I never was into cars as a kid but I loved and collected the Star Wars and Trek mini spaceships Micro Machines did. Ah, the 90's (Yeah, I was a geek before it was cool! ;))

Nice! I loved Micro Machines when I was a kid! My brothers and I used to flick them off of the top of our TV in competition to see how far we could get them to go. My mom didn't love all the dents in the hardwood floor that they made though...

I have a rather large collection that I've had for as long as I remember. I have two vehicles that I know specifically I've had since I was at least 5 years old. I was born in '87 so I'm as old as this line it lol. I find them from time to time at thrift stores, flea markets and swap meets. When I see it, I buy it lmao

For some reason I never got into Micro Machines (don't even recall having 1) despite being a 80s/90s kid. I think it was either because I preferred the more accurate dimension of Hot Wheels and Matchbox or because I was focusing on comic books and comic book-related toys by the time they were getting popular. Looking at it now, it's amazing how many there were.

Micro machines were pretty sweet. The airplanes were my favourite! I valued them quite a bit as they were pretty expensive compared to hotwheels. Like you though I have no idea where they went. My friend had the time machine delorean from Back to the Future as a MM!

I’m all in on bitmapbooks. These guys are killing it with these “pop culture museums in a book.” I’m gonna preorder the Games that Weren’t because that is going to be incredible!
Love that you went and did another close look at one of their books, because they wouldn’t have been on my radar if it weren’t for your Atari video! But please...please please please tell me that there was a fleeting thought to doing this whole video in fast talk. Or you could have just sped it up 20x and then released the “true cut” the next day! Funny, but might’ve thrown off your view count so might not be worth the gag!

I wish I had the fast-talking skill to speak like the Micro Machines Man! I didn't think about speeding it up. And I agree, these books are absolutely the top of the mountain for what they're preserving. They have an NES book AND a SNES book that I'm going to need to buy as soon as I can. I believe one of them is sold out and being reprinted.

It’s really all in their favor, too! Besides being so meticulous in their research and composition of the topic, their presentation really has them setting a bar that any company that tries to follow with titles on the same topic is going to have to go real big to get out of that shadow! They took the game and made it theirs!
And I know, the SNES book is a must buy for me. That console was my childhood and still, in my opinion, the greatest game library in existence

Decent book. Kind of a let down it does not have ant military vehicles aircraft and so forth. Me and my stepbrother played the hell out of the military ones. We did ww3 with sadom in Iraq and Russian dogfights with the aircraft carrier. Major league memories. It is neat that hasbro brought them back, but it is bland they don't have lineses for the car names. What about military? Are they going to bring that back or just leave us with the bland new cars of 2020 release 🤔?

I guess I am just too old, for me the big thing was Hot Wheels.
