- This is a flashlight review of the Convoy L8. At the end of the review I compare the L8 with the Convoy L21B. Both are amazing lights. I recently bought the Convoy 3x21c with the 7 sft40 in it with the 54amp driver (8 amp per led) and the orange peel reflector it spreads the light powerhouse style and evenly, but my L21b sft40 overpowers it at long distance easily. My daily torch is a Convoy S21E with a sft40 in it and i changed the reflector out to a 60° defuser what took a little modification filings the defuser back a bit to keep the oring in it to keep it waterproof, it turned out absolutely amazing even wide beam, i made 3 complete lights so i got back ups for dailys😂 I was toying with the idea of buying a L8 but if the L21B sft40 out ranges it im going to wait untill a better light comes along that out ranges the L21B SFT40 thanks for doing a review.
Ya the L8 throws 1500m so it out throws the L21b, but it doesn’t seem like much. If you want a step up in throw, go with the 3x21d. I made a video on it and did a lot of comparisons with it and it’s an absolute monster. For throw, I use that.

I don't own the L8 but I have the Convoy 4X18A with an SBT90.2 which is comparable. For throw I measured 1292 meters on my L21B with an SFT40 emitter and on the Convoy 4X18A the throw measured 1150 meters. Both are nice lights to have in your collection.
I measured something like 600kcd on my L8 and 400kcd on my L21B. 100kcd is a ton of light 4 or 6 times that is just nuts! Lol. The only reason I went with the L8 over a 3x21a or 4x18 is because I wanted the 80mm head diameter. I really like this light, honestly one of my all time favorites and an absolute monster for $80
L21b for me. Price, size and battery availability. You can buy the new 90.2 version as well.
But which one? The sft40 or sbt90.2 or w2? Honestly these new convoy lights are gonna make the L8 an antique. 3x21d is a beast and keeps turbo longer and throws quite a bit further. Thanks for watching my friend
@@marcgossling8260 As above, L8 is too large, needs proprietary rare batteries, so L21b is the way forward.

I have both of these lights the L8 is my favorite but the l21B for the money how can you go wrong.
Ya both lights are super amazing. I really like my new 3x21d as it uses 3 21700 batteries
@@marcgossling8260 convoy is killing it. I just picked up the K 75 2.0 haven’t gotten it out of the box yet but looking forward to getting it out for Christmas. The other light I picked up which I’m really excited about is the Nightcore TM39 it’s beautiful but somewhat expensive. It’s capabilities and for extended period of time on Turbo, which is unique is quite long. The throw on this beautiful light is 1500 m. you do a great job at putting together your shows and I enjoy watching you get out there showing off those torches. Like I said, earlier convoy for the price you can’t beat it.
Can you compare L21B with SFT40, L8 and 3x21d??? I need for the 500+ meters
If you go to the beamshots of my 3x21d I compare the L8 and L21b w/sbt90.2. If you only need 500 meters than any will work. The L21b w/sft40 is one of my favorite lights. For the price you can’t go wrong

How does the L21A SBT90.2 compare to the L8? Is it worth to get the L8, if you already have the L21A?
The L8 is better, but I’d actually recommend the 3x21d as it’s even larger and has over 2x the battery capacity at the same price. It also has the buck driver option. I love my L8, but I prefer the 3x21d and it is much more powerful
I’m selling my L8 and 3x21d if you want to get them a little cheaper than from aliexpress

L7 battery will last longer as there are 2 26650 batteries. The L8 has one 26800 battery. L8 beam throws further
