- In February 2016 I took a remarkable vehicle into Oman. A Toyota Land Cruiser 79-pickup, 6×6. This is our adventure in a new country in a very different type of vehicle as we ride through the spectacular mountains of Oman ending up on a beach on the Arabian Sea.

This is a re-edit of a favourite adventure into a long-form video. TV stations repeat old shows all of the time. I also do this occasionally, and it's obvious that most people really enjoy them, even if they've watched them before.

Yes, I have watched the earlier version and since then Oman is in my bucket list. Even though I live in Saudi Arabia and it's relatively easy from here. Hope to cross the border through empty quarter next year.
The close-up of the decorative door lock was a nice touch to illustrate the beautiful craftsmanship from a by gone era.
Oman is definitely one of the most friendly countries with best terrains for someone who loves exploring, anything from vast unspoiled deserts, to mountains , secluded beaches, old villages, tropical green mountains & all this with modern infrastructure & really friendly locals who make you feel safe & welcome.
As someone from Bahrain, this legit made me want to take my 100 series land cruiser out and down into Oman.

Oman is beautiful, no doubt.
But overlander's paradise is Saudi Arabia. It is a vast country and you can easily spend the whole winter here. Now the visa is easy and if you contact the ministry of tourism they will welcome you like a head of state. I volunteer to show you some hidden gems in the desert.

You really need to watch Matt's Offroad Recovery You Tube channel. You can see amazing recoveries using a kinetic rope. It's all about using momentum. It increases the pulling power.
Great Video Mate! You are right, Oman is a incredible gem with loads of diversity and adventures to be had. Thank you for raising the litter issue too! Most people down here don’t have a sense for waste disposal which makes me sad to see.
I work in Iraq and litter doesn't seem to bother the locals either. It makes you think whether litter is in the eye of the beholder or one man's forest is another man's firewood. My big concern is - what it will look like in 5 or 10 yrs.

I know this is a while ago, but a word of advice. When you are filming something such as the trackboards in the sand, or the vehicle being snatch-pulled off the sand dune, try to keep everything that is interesting in shot, and hold the camera more steadily. Your production value will increase exponentially.

As someone who enjoys overlanding in my 76 series and living in Abu Dhabi, I have seen many beautiful places in the UAE and in Oman that I never would have expected to see. There is a problem with litter everywhere and it is sad to see. Hopefully, this will change soon. Until then, I always fill a couple of bags of garbage and take out with me. If everyone did this, it would be clean in a very short period of time.
Have really enjoyed your videos! I’m new to the 4x4 world and have found them both informative and inspirational.
Can’t wait to explore Australia, was wondering if you have any videos of trails in NSW or are you planning to film any trips here?

the 6X6 would suit better in the TOYOTA Land Cruiser 79 GX 4WD + 3.0 in. Lift 4.5 TDI V8 4-Dr Double Cab Pickup Truck (RHD) . . . not to mention a tray & canopy at the rear . . .
