Hi, there is a video on my channel for 'beginner PM certifications' which might be particularly relevant for your profile. Please watch the video here: ua-cam.com/video/lZIw79w7bCY/v-deo.html
Hi Ray, Just to clarify, may I please ask, that you said in this video that we need not memorize anything. So that will even include the 49 PM processes and it's table right?
I am doing your 2023 mock simulator on udemy, and it's very difficult hah, many answers are so close. the multiple selection questions have all answers appear correct, it seems more difficult than the other mock exams, o and the answer for CPI 0.86 / TCPI 1.37 is zero chance, project will be over budget :) I just think TCPI is reverse of CPI/SPI, if over 1, it's bad and over budget
Hi. Yes, you are correct in your interpretation of TCPI. Good job! The intent of my mock simulator is to prepare you in a way that the actual PMP exam will feel easy enough!
Hi. I had attended a PMP course in December 2021 but could not appear for the exam then. Would those 35 hours be counted if I plan to appear for the exam in 2024?
I am a Certified Scrum Master with 7+years of relevant and 11 years of overall IT experience. Please let me know if I am eligible for PMP exam assuming I can acquire 35 pdu's from an online course. Please suggest. Thanks!
I passed my pmp exam on 2nd Jan with 3 ATs with 30 days of preparation + another 15 days writing & analyzing mocks. The exam was quite difficult and I remained under pressure throughout the exam duration. The first 70-80 questions were nerve racking, all the options were long & lengthy and so close. And yes, there were no numericals and critical path/network diagram questions. All the questions were situational with lengthy options. I reckon PMP exam will be tougher in 2023 than what it was in 2021 or early 2022..
I took the PMP test and I almost passed (I think I was off by 1 or 2 questions). My test had no formulas and no critical path/network diagrams. It was mostly Agile.
Hi ray, Myself Elson, I have done Masters in Manufacturing engineering and bachelors in Mechanical engineering. I have experience of 8+ years in sales. I joined as Sales engineer and currently working as Sales Manager (Since 2019) M i eligible for PMP exam? If not how can i get the certification?
Hi Elson, unfortunately, since you do not have direct PM work-ex, you may not qualify for the PMP Exam. Check further details via my blog here: www.pmpwithray.com/pmp-certification-eligibility-requirements/
Hi Ray, Quick question on PMP preparation. What if I take take countless PMP mock test next few months and understand the Concepts from there instead of preparing via study material. kind of reverse method what do you reckon
HI Vignesh, I think it's a very non-productive way of preparing for the exam, where you just study to pass an exam and not make effort to understand and appreciate a subject.
Hi Ray, I have completed 35 PDU. And working in a consulting company and managing end of end activities of multiple projects since 4 years. But I am not directly involved in any of the projects. Will I get rejected due to this?
Hi Josima, it is unlikely that you will qualify for the eligibility criteria of the PMP Exam without being directly involved in projects. Assessing your PMP Exam eligibility could be tricky. Hence, I have written a detailed blog post on this topic. Please go through this in detail and I am sure you will be able to make that assessment yourself. I have taken examples similar to your background in this blog post: www.pmpwithray.com/pmp-certification-eligibility-requirements/
@@PMPwithRay another question. What happens in the scenario that you apply and are denied. Will PMI provide you with the precise reason of what you are missing? And will an applicate be allowed to apply again once the specific requirements have been reached? What is the turn around time?
Hi, I am currently studying for the Pmp exam, I am currently doing mock exams as I just finished studying the 3 books - the PMbok 6th and 7th edition plus the agile practice guide. Now, I learned that there are another book called Process Groups, should I study that book as well? Or should I just now do mock exams and try my luck?
@@PMPwithRay Same here...I sit for the exam in 2.5 months and am worried that I'm not studying in the most efficient manner. I have invested so much time and money in this certification and I don't feel ready.
I have a question that i hope you (or someone on here) can help me with. I'm taking a Udemy course to fulfill the 35 hours of education required to apply for the exam. Outside of that, I don't want to sink a ton of time or money into preparing for a test I might not even get to take. My question is, once the application is approved to take the PMP exam, how much time does one have to take and pass it?

In project management, 35 PDUs (Professional Development Units) refer to the educational hours or credits needed by Project Management Institute (PMI) certification holders, like those with the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, to maintain their credentials. It's a requirement to engage in ongoing learning and professional development every three years to stay up-to-date with industry practices and ensure the continued relevance of their certification.
Hi Ray, I am a Full stack software developer with 5 years of work experience and I would like to get into project management side. Is it advisable to take PMP certification at the moment?
Hi, PMP is always advisable if you plan to grow in project management domain. However, you need to check whether you are eligible or not. Please check this article written by me and assess your eligibility: www.pmpwithray.com/pmp-certification-eligibility-requirements/
Hey Jennifer, Since you are within the IT spectrum, I'd advice you take the *Agile PMP certification* instead, as that is more tailored for software/IT peeps
►►► Join my FREE Webinar for PMP Exam Prep 2023: bit.ly/raypmpwebinar ►► Answer to CPI/TCPI Question: Since CPI = 0.86, you need 14% improvement first to hit your baseline. Also, since TCPI is 1.37, you need a 37% improvement on top to meet your BAC (authorized spend). So, that's an overall efficiency improvement of 14% + 37% = 51% you are looking at as a Project Manager which is a very very optimistic scenario to achieve. Hence, there is very less chance that that project will be completed within budget.
