- The Fun Pimps is proud to present our 1.0 Gameplay Trailer. 7 Days to Die is an epic post-apocalyptic survival horror game set in the voxel world of Navezgane. This trailer showcases how far the game has come and how the 1.0 version looks today.
7 Days to Die will launch into 1.0 this June on Steam, with a follow up launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S shortly afterward in July. We will have definite release dates soon, so stay tuned! Be sure to buy the Alpha 21 version on Steam while the game remains at the Early Access Price of $24.99. When 1.0 Launches, the price will increase to $44.99

Here I am with a measly 500+ hours and in the same boat.
We console gamers had a 7daystodie that looked like it was from the last century and still loved it and gave it thousands of hours of our time. Now to get the game in this condition soon after all these years is just amazing.

@@IICARUS99 I had problems because it seemed simplistic, yet difficult to advance. Once I started figuring it out (with my daughter's OG Minecraft knowledge) I couldn't stop. So I started making tutorials to help out my friends that I had introduced to the game ;-)

I honestly wish there was a way to pay the merchants to stay with them for horde night. [X] amount of coins to hunker down with them, the amount going up higher each time you spend a night with them, so you can't just keep doing it over and over, that would be a neat mechanic imo.

@@PhunkieZero Or the option which allows zombies to break the gates, doors and walls of the trader areas and where traders can die. Players would then have to build improvements and traps to protect their traders.... as compared to traders having the unrealistic immortal defenses and immortal lives.
@@NTJedi they probably thought of that to keep ppl from building a base right next to them as in right where your able to i mean, but then they thought the loud as hell speaker would do that instead. Tho this would be nice but since itll have to be whenever your nearby its kinda pointless, if they made it so things can happen when your not nearby this would be fantastic and if they did die or their base is destroyed it can be respawned when loot respawns or after X amount of days or even the trader ran away safely and went to another trader where you have todo a quest or quest chain to get them back up and running.
Edit: or can give you a quest that they are about to be attacked and if u dont show its just instant destroyed and you get a good reward for defending
I mean paying a singular cost to stay with a trader would be nice but as for traders dying it'd only be nice if another pops up a certain amount of days later, I mean they're traders they shouldn't need us with all the money they make

The current UI looks awful.
Bandits & Story will be added in 2025, according to the Roadmap.

I don't mind the sexual innuendo that's in the game, but it'd be nice if it were a little more sophisticated than what a horny 13 year old would come up with.
Hell, if my character responded with some Tombstone quotes, that'd make it so much more tolerable.

I rarley had lag from A16 on up. I think only A17 gave me issues which were fixed like a week or two later and i run on a potato of a computer.
@@Supayone if you say you run it on a potato and the game doesnt have fps issues here and there for you then you either play on ultra low graphic settings or you are lying XD i have multiple friends who play this game with me from time to time and the have super expensive powerful PC,s and even they experience FPS issues especially when theres like 15-20+ zombies present xd and bigger building are causing said fps issues aswell so i highly doubt you are telling the truh i also played this game on a potato till like 6 months ago before i got my new pc and even with this one i have said issues here and there so i dont believe what you say xd

@@Supayone The fps tanks really hard on those lvl 5-6 missions, i get 170fps on the streets but when i enter the building and the zombies start to wake up the fps goes to 60-70fps. Maybe you are playing at 30 fps, then if the fps drops to 15 you won't really notice the difference.
10 Years in development, 10 years of pain and suffering through all the different upgrades, modifications, and what not to the game, been waiting a LONG time for this to come out. To quote Tychus - "Its about damn time!"
Played this game on and off since 2014 and I have to say its come so far. I just hope they fix all the biggest bugs and optimize the game because even on an RTX 4090 superclocked, it's rough.
I guess the real bottleneck was always the CPU because it is a fully dynamic voxel world.
Launching without story and bandits. Somehow after 11 years in early access it feels rushed.
My theory is that they need more money get the rest done. 1.0 seems like a marketing gimick
I just don't feel like all of that is gonna be possible on the Xbox. If bandits come Then I bet it will be on a PC update.
@@acpn9658 No never necessarily since the game has a strong mod support, so a "campaing" its possible, same with the bandits, but it can pass a few more years before we se any of that if isn't in the 1.0.
and everyone is celebrating because apparently the new build being called v1.0 is somehow wayyyyyy better than if it said A24 or whatever it would have been.
I think it's to say they got 1.0 done, push it to consoles, and then abandon the current ps4 and maybe even eventually the ps5 and xbox equivalent versions as they add new updates and slowly bring those features in by "Version 1.5" like other games have done. How many games have launched in an unfinished state and then added those features and done a rebranding launch or sort of relaunch with their big overhaul update post launch? Cyberpunk 2077 and WWZ becoming WWZ Aftermath come to mind.
I like how you can see the subtle frame rate stutters in the trailer too.

Console players - I have the option of playing about 3000 games, usually stuck using a game controller for all games and XBOX and SONY are planning to remove the DVD drive from future consoles.
PC players - I have the option of playing about 4 million games with lots more updates, mods and game playing options... will never lose the option of a DVD drive for PC.
Given the absolute horrid selection of new games out right now on console, I will gladly pay for this again. At least these developers deserve the money.

it would be cool if not every POI was a dugeon with a loot room. this game used to be about scavenging whatever you could just to survive, every bullet mattered and food wasn't as easy as breaking 2 wooden walls to get into a lootroom.
so true its not even worth looting anymore you just rush the good chest in every building and ditch i miss the times where you actually had to search budilings for good stuff

i remember when you could make a big fortress with a compound instead of a tiny meta mele horde base.
they tried to stop pepole from making meta bases in the past and now everything except the new meta is extreamly hard or sometimes even impossible.
Game reached 1.0 status and empty jars also get eaten by the player character when drinking boiled water. Either that or they disappear magically for whatever reason. Now, we have to create multiple dew collectors? Shit was baffling to see in a *survival sandbox* it made me alt-f4 and uninstall. Not surprised to see them screw up other basic stuff. Back to PZ then

I hate the new style of play now. I don't even play the game anymore. It's just not as fun as it used to be before they swapped this, swapped that, nerfed this, nerf that, stop people from doing this or that, etc. They call themselves The Fun Pimps, but they took a huge lot of fun out of their game just to appeal to casual gamers and streamers.

Ever watch an Ark trailer, or Star Citizen, or any other game that's trying to render in so much and make it so interactive? Trailers are one thing, game performance is always something else. Sort of like the stuff we get off Amazon and when it arrive it's nothing like the advertising LOL Nothing new, just a good job marketing their product.

My game looks like that pretty regularly. Sometimes I have upwards to 30 to 50 zombies coming at me without it being horde night. It's pretty insane. I use a lot of mods for it.

I'm just one data point, but I'm playing on hardware less than 10 years old and my machine can render more than 10 zombies with no problems.

I was in my 20's when this game dropped. I'm now late 30's and believe they aren't doing enough and haven't added enough. the only reason this release is news is because it's spectacular that a game has been in development for over 10 years. The longest development cycle of any game EVAR!!!!!.
you guys have destroyed more than you built. nothing in this game is worth a decade of playing. some people that stuck around for all that time are rewarded with getting to buy the game again at full price.

Oh man. I've taken a break for just THIS! I'm beyond excited to bring content from both. I was BEYOND myself when console was released initially and didn't think anything could top that. You guys did just that this summer.

the skull base at 0:58 is really cool, too bad the zombies know the perfect path of least resistance to get inside it
They could do with a rework on the firearms, their appearance is very disappointing. Modders make better appearances than the company that creates the game. :/
The firearms are actually very detailed, but you can't see all the details with default animations. When you play with VR mod, you can rotate weapons freely in your hand and the details hidden by graphics artists look amazing.

@@folks4152 I'm not looking from the realistic stand point, I'm from EU, I don't use real guns. They just look cool to me. My friend has over 2000 hours in the game and also never complained about it. If you want realistic guns, play H3VR (Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades). The details are amazing and even the well known on youtube British museum firearms expert was very impressed - you reload the guns manually by physically pulling all the levers, etc. with your motion controllers. That's the best game in the world for fans of realistic guns.
I don't care about realism in my zombie game.

@@Travminer123 The VR mod doesn't change the models or textures. I am a tester of the closed version of the mod (and also Polish language translator for the mod), and the mod authors were impressed that it looks better, even though they didn't touch anything in regards of the quality of the items. Btw, when the next version of the VR mod drops, people will love it. I can't spoil anything, but there are major features coming that people will love, they're so much fun. There's still a lot of issues to fix before the public release, so it won't be soon, but trust me, it will be worth it. They will definitely want to finish everything for the 1.0 release during experimental alpha phase.
How do you go from Alpha to full release? I love this game, but this is leaving early access in name and price only. Can't wait for the Beta 😉
Instead of releasing half-assed yearly "updates" that add 12 new prefabs, they should just provide full mod tools so the community can make the game fun to play.

I just started playing this game and this looks like what I'm playing right now (minus the "nice looking" graphics since my computer is barely running the game as is on the lowest settings). For a 1.0 update, there really ain't much new huh? AND they're upping the price by $20 USD, that's actually insane. Also at 0:33 you can literally see the model for the mountain lion freaking out so I'm glad to see their quality control has improved.

It's just prerentered graphics, and yes you can do that with the same game engine to make it look smooth. Just look at their past videos for Xbox Series and you can see how the game lags every time shoots

Game became a looting sim. Lets just analyse the trailer and absolutely destroy it.
Lots of zeds on streets is a lie. Literally next frame we get a flying view of the city with no zeds at all. Those were all spawned.
Base building just sucks. It takes forever and is boring as hell. You are better of just not bothering with bases. Zeds have super powers to sense players making a base just a time waste.
Not a single big city shown. Always outskirts of the city. Because in city fps is still garbage.
No looting changes seen in the video. So still same old collector simulator.

@Aleyck I like different games for different reasons. I have a large library of games. I started with Atari and never stopped. Killing zombies and base building like minecraft, but more realistic. 40 years of gaming. I just turned 44. They don't make good games anymore. I'm a long time fan of 7 days, but this is kind of disappointing. I thought by now they'd at least change the zombie models a bit. Especially if they're increasing the price to $45 from $25, from this trailer I feel like there aren't enough changes to warrant that price increase.

They said they're gonna make color variations for zombie models, and there are a few screenshots with the new player models, which look great. But it will take a year or so until they're implemented.
Agreed this is just another patch.
This thing needs a huge graphical update. It still looks old as hell in the movement is clunky. But the gameplay is there. Also, it needs controller support to bring it mainstream

Same old janky *CANNED* walk, climb, jump, run, etc … animations for PC and Z, same old "if I say I hit you, I hit you" zombie melee as opposed to true ragdoll melee, same old "I hold my hand out in front of me all the time whenever I'm not holding anything" FPS decoration, same old musical stings that have exactly zero source in the gameworld, same cheesy "heh, I place a bag of trash right here in the doorway so player has to run through it and make noise even though in real life trash wouldn't be discarded like that in the first place, and if it was, it would have been shoved out of the way long ago" obstacle placement, same old "this room is meant to have zombies, but they don't spawn until you're just outside the room", same old "well, of course do zombies stand in closets and vent shafts", same old magical ability of every Z to be an all-seeing structural engineer if necessary, same old zombies never _path_ any other direction than exactly straight or exactly diagonal even with zero obstacles on flat and level terrain …
That's all that the updates have ever been, texture changes to make the update logs look filled to trick the unwashed masses into thinking they're busy.

You're telling me the zombies in any building are going to start cleaning the house so trash isn't all over the place? The trash can be composed of multiple stuff and have an infinite amount of reasons to be all over the place, then again, they serve a gameplay purpose rather than a worldbuilding one. The zombie animations are fine (except when they try to jump on something, wtf is that, who thought that was okay), the real problem are physics and A.I, you clearly don't know what to complain about. Oh yeah zombie attacks need for variety for sure, it's insulting to keep it that way in this new BETA (this thing is not in shape to be full release).
Zombies don't spawn until you walk in for performance reasons, it shouldn't take a genius to notice that. Extremely stupid thing to say.
Why would a ZOMBIE path anything other than straight or diagonal on flat terrain? You expect them to start going in a zig-zag motion? Wtf are you even trying to say, I'm not gonna say it's a stupid complain because I genuinely don't know what you're even trying to imply.
Complaining about zombies in closets or vents wins the award for the stupidest thing to complain about.

While i am glad to see new stuff there are a lot of issues to be resolved imo. Crafting system needs revamp again, I constantly get lvl 5 or 6 weapons way before being able to craft them. World needs to feel more alive, npcs with dynamic outcomes to quests factions and so on. Modders have kept this game alive!

That's true. Mods make this game interesting and I cannot even play without the mods anymore. Same with Minecraft. I just wish 7dtd had more quality modpacks similar to undead legacy.
Trader gameplay makes crafting useless and it was made even worse with the last update.
Crafting for sure needs a revamp, it's so stupid. By the time I've found 75 or 100 magazines for a specific crafting tree I've already found all the items at lvl 6.
Well over 2000 hours on this and still never gets boring. For real.
I've got almost 3,000 and I'm still excited for the new improvements.

Hope they make food, medic supply, ammo, weapons and armor harder to find in Vanilla. So we can enjoy the farming and crafting a way better.
why does the melee and firearm combat still after this long feel inorganic and unnatural ? The weapon recoil still after all this time feels damn stiff as well. I can almost bet that the food and drink consumption animations are still terrible as well (brown blocks)

Between first version of 7 days to die, and 1.0 version is 11 years. between GTA 5, and GTA 6 is 12 Years. Its not bad.
its more of a beta release than a 1.0 because the game still isnt feature complete (main things missing are main story and npcs survivors and bandits)
This game still looks so rough for a 1.0 update. I remember buying this game all the way back when it came out and it's a shame that it still looks really low quality.
No other survival game comes close. Destructability and procedurally generated maps makes this game have unlimited replayability.

A lot. They added an unholy amount of item, the added a new combat system it looks like. Better roads, better worlds, better cars/trucks, and by the look of it. Flying items.
They're probably reworking the same systems again for the 100th time, making it more grindy and unfun like they have been for a while

The game hasn't changed in any meaningful way for the last several years. Expect of them moronically changing how blueprints work every fucking update while pushing back key promised features for the better part of a decade.

One of the things they removed from the game, has now been turned into a spin-off game that they're also working on, which will also be released in Early Access...
They really screwed over the console players, though. Anyone who bought the game have to re-purchase it in order to get the 1.0 alpha release build. Kind of funny when they re-acquired the license from TTG two years ago, added their name as the publisher and developer on the Xbox store for the current version, then goes on to say that they can't update it or replace it with the new one because 'It's TTG's game'.. what a load of BS..

People don't get how intense 7 Days is to run. Almost everything you see can be destroyed which means constant update checks. Imagine Minecraft with 4k shaders, textures. Now imagine you break one block on your house and every block has to update to check stability. It's a lot. Regardless of this the game runs smooth as butter for me on a 3070. And they've already said the performance is a lot better in 1.0. So everyone needs to stop bitchin cause their 2006 dell laptop can't run the game. Just cause the game doesn't look up to spec with current games doesn't mean it can't be just as intense for hardware.
God DAMN, this trailer was amazing! It's been a hell of a long road, and it's been great being part of it. I can't wait for 1.0 to come out.

Do yourself a favor, play something else and save your money.
