That is such a cool tool. Thanks for the all the content Kezza, I think I am now all caught up with your videos. Looking forward to the next artistic instalments.
Thanks so much, brother. I really appreciate that a lot. I just got back from the show. Now, I'm going to finish up this platter video. 👌
Thanks for the great content, love the way you explain and go through the process. Also what a great tool the bowl core is hopefully some day i will get to these size bowls and get one. What a good idea to get three bowls from a good piece of wood less waste and shavings. All your videos so far have been brilliant . Still going through the rest. Many thanks greatly appreciated
Cheers
Thanks, Colin. I believe every lathe should be sold with a bowl corer to save material. Thank you so much for watching the videos, mate. Please reach out if you need me to cover something for you. Cheers, Kez.
When you take out the small bowl you can use the larger bowl as a jam chuck to cut you tenon. Just turn the bowl around and use the center mark that the bowl saver made
Exactly, thanks mate. I sell these bowls to other woodturners, I'm also thinking of adding any slightly cracker of "2nds" bowls to my website.
I appreciate your input, thanks Bill.

Same thing works if using the McNaughton, just takes a little time to get the bowl positioned evenly, but no biggie.
Great vid Kerry!! Super informative!!
Thanks so much, legend. Hope it helped. Cheers mate
Good video Kerry, those are going to make some very nice bowls when they're ready. I tend to cheap out though, I use old candle wax rather than PVA, even Anchor Seal.
As long as it works for you make, keep it up! Cheers mate
Awesome video Kerry, many thanks!!! Quick question I've always wondered, so what is the process for getting a spigot or recess on the cored bowls?? Seems as if you let them dry without doing that, would move while drying and then be a bugger to finish turn and true up....... Also with an inch left, would be very critical to maximize your spigot creation so as not to to ake too much wood off of the bottom. Again, appreciate your willingness to share, lots of respect!! -Rich
Maybe could be a mini-video ??? LOL
Kerry - thank you for this series and they have helped very much as I learn to use the bowl saver. When you make the relief cut are you moving only the banjo or the adjustable “slot” near the tail stock connection? Thanks.
G'day Bill, I follow this procedure when making a relief cut while coring. Firstly, I loosen the banjo and the adjustable slot, and then carefully slide them away from myself. Next, I make the relief cut, and then I loosen both the banjo and the adjustable slot again. I then slide them back towards myself, ensuring that they are positioned on the line I previously made. Finally, I tighten both the banjo and the adjustable slot and continue with the coring process. This procedure may seem lengthy, but with practice, it becomes a smooth and efficient process. Cheers.
Hi Kerry, Thanks got the video. I bought the Max 4 , but im having trouble with the middle size cutter. When i tighten it down on the clamp if lifts up the knife 6mm above the rest. No matter how i try to tighten the hex bolts (in order / out of order etc) it still lifts. You press down with your hand on the back of the knife to add support, its impossible for me to do this. I'm thinking of sending the whole thing back. Any suggestions ?
Hey mate, have you tried doing them all evening while holding it down on the guide block at the front of the unit? I’ve had this issue before and was able to sort it out by tightening the front nut first, but not all the way, then the other two. Once there, go around all of the nuts evenly.
Let me know how you go..
Cheers.
Kez
Is the rod sticking out of the tailstock part of the coring tool
Yeah, that locks the unit in. 👍
@@KerryCorney another unrelated thing but what angle do you grind your bottom feeder
Sorry for the slow reply Rod. I sharpen it 60 degrees and remove the heel. Hope that helps.
@@KerryCorney perfect. Thanks👍
