THANK YOU!! This tutorial was perfect and helped solve the issue! Like other reviews mentioned it was a fairly quick repair and took less than 30 or so minutes. Very much appreciated being able to do the repair myself and not have to pay $$$ to a repairman!
Thanks for the tips. It turns out this wasn't the cause for me, so I'll share mine. I had just drained and flushed the water heater and upon starting up, a burst of air/water hit the LG washer hoses. The hoses we use are safety/burst protect hoses and those hoses had the pressure disc pop close, thus causing the IE error. Once the hoses were reset (you can't always do this) Life Is Good ...
If this video solved your IE Error Code and helped you avoid an expensive service call, please help support my channel with a Super Thanks. Much appreciated.
Thanks for making and uploading this great video as I was able to repair this issue in under half an hour and give the area a bit of a clean up. My LG is 15+ years old and still going string!
Great, quick fix video! Took less than 10 minutes. I discovered a super plugged filter on the cold water inlet, dirty hot water inlet, and the drainage tube was pushed too far into the drain. Don't forget to turn the water back on!
My IE error was caused by the pressure sensor pipe becoming detached from the pressure sensor. A quick two minute fix, removing the top cover and re-attaching the pipe, which is push fit. Thanks for the video.
Excellent short video thanks! My problem was clogged filter so it fixed my issue! It was a little hard to get the filters out, had to grab and twist a bit but they popped out. You saved me a big headache and repair $!!!!!
I did the same things you did in this video and no more IE error code! My screens were clean, I had just connected it up for the first time, bought used, and it gave the IE code after the wash cycle. Working now, thanks!
Another thing to check is the main drain plug at tge bottom front of the machine , it catches all the big items like plastic , keys, coins etc if its full the extract pump will not be able to pump out the water and causes a IE error
Damn...so easy!!! Cleaned filter and picked up the hose that was way too deep in THE drain. No IE-code since then.. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!! Wow! 😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍😁
It's 9:46 I saw this IE message on my washing machine and have no clue what's going on. It was working fine this summer then the other day it brought up this IE message and just quit washing. The water is not draining in the tub. So it will stop washing and cut off. I tried doing the rinse and spin cycle to see if that would help it. I thought it was at first I was excited because I thought I fixed the problem. Well, it did it again on the rinse and spin. I'm getting really fed up with this. I don't know what to do. I don't understand anything about it. I'm afraid to do anything that I will message it up even more.
We were getting 1E codes for the Delicate cycle, after watching this and another video I checked how far the drain hose was down the drain pipe… more than 2 feet! Water was gurgling out as I pulled it up. I put it back in just 4 inches deep, cycle ran without issues… hopefully that fixes the problem permanently!
The ie error is getting but I can solve the problem, I was always saying it will make the washing rinse but it doesn't spin everyone with the middle of a water. I am helping you correctly. Thanks.
Nice it worked! It was the drainage tube .. it must have worked it's way down while washing bedding and the washer shaking. Thank you so much for this video!
That's a great tip. My brand new LG WT7150CW passed the installer's Short Wash Test and he left. I could NOT get it to pass a Normal Cycle without "IE". Installer gave me a set of hoses because he didn't like my brand new hoses (liability). I took the hoses off and compared to my hoses were smaller diameter and more back pressure with the blow test, thus less water flow. I swapped my hoses in and Voila'!. Installer also shoved the drain hose all the way in to the P-trap. I fixed that too, but not the cause of my original problem.
Water filter was clogged and outlet hose was way too deep as another person pointed out on this channel. I thought I had broken the machine....I spent 2 hours over the weekend fixing a dE (drain error) and that turned out to be a rubber band stuck in the pump impeller causing it to jam... Just finished a wash cycle without hiccups. Thank you for the time spent making this video and the knowledge shared!
My hot water in-line filter was SUPER dirty, cleaned both filters, changed position of drain tube, plugged it back in, & crossed my fingers, aaaaaaand - no dice. LE code came back like a bad penny. Looks like I’ll be spending some money (that I don’t have) to get a repair guy out. Thanks for the video nonetheless!
Also if it goes farther than that there are also in-depth step by step videos on UA-cam that explain how to disassemble the top and front end and clean out your system internally. Sounds intimidating but it is fairly reasonable, provided you are slightly mechanically inclined and have the right tools. The step by steps will easily walk you through these problems.
On the LG washer check your washer to see if you have a Hose Clamp or Glue on the inbound side of the discharge pump. If so, that is not a factory connection. There is not supposed to be any Glue or Hose Clamps on anything according to LG. Squeeze clamps only. Most of the LG washers had to be reconditioned, then sold as new. The hose is 2 inches too short and the travel of the tank, to offset a lopsided load, will one day rip that hose off. I repaced 12" of drywall in my whole washroom. Contact the FTC.
My washer is in a cold closed room. I’ve never had this issue before but wondering if my issue is the weather. I opened the doors hoping it would help and will try again in a day or so Haven’t tried this yet but will if it still doesn’t go
Thanks Micheal! I really enjoy your videos and find them very helpful. Did you get your upstairs remodel done on the bathroom? You should do a home tour, that is very popular on other UA-cam videos I watch.
Barbara Johnson The interminable bathroom remodel is still not done. It’s getting close but still a few weeks away. I like your idea of a video walkthrough and will give that some consideration. Thanks for planting the seed.
That’s not something I would be able to do. However many times the washing machine drain is stuck into a pipe that is not connected to a P-trap. That is probably the cause of the odor. Installing a p-trap would eliminate the odor.
I had the same problem, I pulled the drain hose out today and put it just 4 inches back in, so far seems to have fixed the problem. When I pulled it out there was water still trapped in the hose
With my machine Wtc1501cw. I found small particles of sand in drain pump. But what fixed code was the drain hose had kinked. Restricting water flow from drain pump. After fixing kinked hose, no code and all has been well for 3 weeks on.
I checked my filter screens and also made sure our hose is not too far in the drain hole. So far no luck. Still throwing IE code. What else could be the problem?
Omg our inlet filter (cold) was absolutely clogged and disgusting. We were getting 1e error code but the washer had no problem filling, just wouldn't drain and spin. The washer is under a year old but we did have water issues with my well pulling sand before I had a new well dug. This video was on point and we are back up and running. Alot of the other videos for 1e error had nothing to do with this issue but it wouldn't rinse and drain. Thank you so much!
Can anyone help me? My washer keeps throwing the IE code seemingly for no reason. Then i hit the play button and it finishes the cycle but its annoying because you gotta keep checking on the washer. The drain hose is 8” in the drain hole and there is no obstructions in the filter. Its so baffling. Water comes out good for the 1st 5 min but then it goes down to a trickle like the washer is restricting its own flow and then telling itself theres not enough water. It makes NO Sense….
My LG wave force washer has a red circle with line through it wit, what looks like a key within the circle. The machine does go on starting with the load sensor but will not go on to Wash. we just moved it from one house to another. What would that error code or red circle mean?
My washer started leaking only some water on the ground. I was still running it. Now it fills up with water to the top. Then empties it out and says 1E. (Without leaking much)
I checked the inlets they were barely dirty with sediment the hot water inlet probably had more than the cold water then I tried it again it popped up with IE again so I looked over everything ran a diagnostic on my app and it said the same thing check your inlets check the hose check any leakage.. The only other thing that I changed was the drainage hose it used to be inclined from the bottom of the washer going up into the drain pipe But now I took it out of the drain pipe and laid it across the floor into our basement half shower thing there's already a pre-cut hole inside the shower wall that goes straight into the floor drain
Also, I'm waiting for the rents and spend only to do its thing and if it hasn't done anything within this time limit I'm going to set it on spin and then probably re-adjust the drain hose back into the drain pipe to see if anything happens from there
Cody Dye Sounds like you’re pretty much went through the same process I did more or less. I was flabbergasted when the only thing that worked was to simply reduce the length of drain hose going into the drain pipe.
Thank you you so much for this wonderful information, please how can fix OE in my lg washing machine after checking the in filter and make sure it is not blocked and yet it refuse to discharge water.

Hi my washer leaked from the bottom. It gave me the ie error. I've had my washer less then 2 years, it'll be 2 years in June. Is this something normal to happen in that short of time?
I can’t really answer that. When you say it leaked from the bottom, was it leaking out of some thing on the bottom or was the water just running down to the bottom from a hose? The error is caused by one of several situations. Did you check all of the possibilities?
