How to fix an LG WT1501CW Washing Machine with the IE (or 1E) Error Code flashing.
    There's two potential issues.
    1. The inlet valves are clogged and need to be cleaned
    2. The drain hose is too far into the drain pipe
The issue for me was the inlet valves were clogged and needed cleaning.

Thanks, and I'm glad the video helped. It's a simple problem to solve, but when that error message comes up, your first thought is, "Now what?!" lol So I had hoped that the video would help others in the same situation that I was in.

Edisto Island South Carolina…..Thanks for the video, a silted up inlet filter was exactly the problem…although only partially clogged it was the culprit . Silt from well water as you experienced was the answer. Thanks again

Hi Marv, glad the video helped. When it popped up for me, I was afraid it was going to be a big issue. Turned out to be pretty simple, as you see. I'm on well water, so this will likely be an issue again for me.

Hi Molly, I'm really glad that the video helped out. When I got the error, I thought that the machine was likely dead (knowing my luck). So when I discovered that it was a really easy fix, I wanted to make the video to hopefully help someone else with it.
So I'm glad that it helped with your case!

My washer is still giving me the code I clean and checked and still don’t work

@@clarissabember4677 did you pull both hoses off and then get pliers to pull the plastic filters and clean them with a toothbrush and replace. I hung the hose over the washer and flushed the hose out for a minute. If you have well water it’s weekly unfortunately. Then put the filters back in and unplug your washer and hopefully it will reset it.

Would this indicate same problem with a Kenmore top load?

    • @31Mike

It's possible, depending on who manufactured it for Kenmore. Without knowing the model and year it was made, it's hard to say. But I did look it up in general and it looks like it may be made by Whirlpool.
Another search on this error code for the Kenmore washer indicates that it very well could be the same issue. So I'd try this method and see if that corrects the problem.
Let me know if that works.

I don’t have the model number on me at the moment but figured it was made by Whirlpool.
When I tried to find info on the problem, it was mostly LG that came up.
I am still on a walking stick getting over a broken hip I had replaced over 20 years ago.
It seems to be filling more than necessary and has a leak somewhere I could not find when I rolled it out.
I don’t think I even thought to check the pressure hose.
I am going to roll it back out enough to get behind it again so I can check the hose.
At 68 and being on this stick, I have to be careful.
I have about 30 appliances I need to get back on.

@@rickeykeeton4770 Definitely be careful! If you even think that there's a slim potential to fall, take your phone with you as a precaution so that if something happens, you have a way to call someone.
Are you getting an error code on the machine? If it's the same as in this video, it could be the exact same problem.

@@31Mike It was giving IE but not when we turned it back on.
It is not very hard to get out from the wall.
I use a piece of pvc pipe under the washer to roll it out enough to get between it and the water heater to get behind it and just lay my walking stick over by the dryer.
Btw, wife is here in case I have a problem getting back up and out from behind it.
