  • The build/ restomod continues on our customers 1969 Nissan Gloria.
I've covered a little on this mod earlier on but in this video you will see a bench test/proof of concept.
We still have to confirm we can control the speed correctly via the Link G4+ Extreme ECU via a PWM output

Favorite build of this channel; The March is a very close second.

    Nice pipe burn!
I have a few old versions from boxer airhead tuning days that glow purple in cold weather!

Yip a moment of inattention & the second to last weld on the Mitsi got me when I was half way done with the last weld, only just beyond the top of the glove. second one ever but wont be the last I'm picking.....

Good work mate. What sort of revs does your electric motor need to output after your mods please?

      Hi Mark
In the end we actually aborted using this system and went to a full custom cluster with an electronic speedo driven via a signal from a tone wheel on the diff head.
The motor and gearbox etc worked perfectly BUT I couldn't sort out the control of the speed of the motor without additional equipment that would have driven the price beyond the aftermarket units available that do the same thing.
These units do tend to be unreliable apparently and that's why I opted to go for a complete new system.

@@TheLabLimited Thanks for your comments, thats good to know, what aftermarket system did you use instead? I found the speedhut speedbox but dont know anyone who has undertaken this sort of conversion to comment on its effectiveness as a system (reliability is key as you mentioned)

@@markhaith4720 We used an autometer speedo head and I fabricated a tone wheel and bracket for a Bosch hall effect sensor.
