I'm currently doing wt on my ironman. It feels real the wt prison. Thank god I leveled up my reward influencing skills beforehand because now I know I am only working towards unlocking the potential to do slayer and more quests etc lol. I can't imagine what it would be like to not be able to walk where you want lol.
Juking out those PKers and logging out was so satisfying, I cheered! I think it may have healed the part of me that got PKed in the Wildy in '06 and quit the game for 6 months out of pure rage.
These videos prove that Settled is just able to make mundane things interesting. This is the same content that 1000 other people try to make but Settled actually makes it engaging to watch
its because you've seen dozens of hours of his content. At this point, your mind treats him like he's your friend. Like you're hanging out with him. So you find his take on the same content more interesting. Chances are if he did this from the get-go and not go with the super restricted, mega-grind series you wouldn't be here. Definitely props to him for doing it all right.
@@CesarOSRS I'm sure familiarity is a part of it. It's fun to watch folks we recognize! But all of Settled's skill in telling an engaging story is at work in this video, albeit toned down to match his less-ambitious second channel vibes. Consider, for example, the way he makes his goals exceptionally clear at the outset, and how each step he takes towards those goals - and the threats/stakes that may stand against him - are brightly signposted. That's a challenging thing to do, and is also one of the most alluring principles of storytelling. He applies several other storytelling techniques like this here too.
yeah but he clearly didn't do that this episode. i.e kings ransom SWERVE. I think he did a great job of doing that on the other channel though, so those are still great points. Just not for this.@@Catalysten
@@CesarOSRS Hahaha! Well, he definitely was deviating from the beaten path there, wasn't he. Still, the main results of that (clearly highlighted) swerve was that he a) made progress towards the overall goal, and b) observed to the audience how important the step he skipped is. Finally going back to meet that step feels even more exciting, because now we're meeting a demonstrated need in the story. Anyhow! I've had a lot of fun talking about how Settled's storytelling techniques make for an interesting video. In the end, what do you think? Does Settled use storytelling to make a more interesting video - even in his second channel - than some hypothetical, average UA-camr? Or would you argue it's mainly just satisfying familiarity that was won with his first channel?
FINALLY something I've wanted for a long time.. seeing you do the most unexpected account style which is just a normal main with no restrictions, can't wait for more episodes
The short Lunar Diplomacy bit and your opinion of the quest gave me a chuckle, I'm relatively new to osrs and just finished it for the first time yesterday. "This quest" is an accurate synopsis of how it made me feel doing the quest. Love seeing McTile again, I started playing osrs around the time episode 2 came out, in large part because of you. McTile and Swampletics have occupied my second monitor for many a Slayer task or Skilling session.
"I feel like i have really high energy today, dont know what it is" Mans is finally playing the game with no gun to the back of his head telling him to torture himself with some crazy game mode lmao No wonder, bro is happy and excited to just play normally
Let me just say, this is the series i've been looking forward to the most from you, when you originally stated you wouldn't be going for something like this, i was a little demotivated, but honestly, watching this is going to be a blast. As one of your like 0.002% age demographic 30 somethings, I loved swampletics, and a lot of the other channels taking on unique challenges like verf's karamja only uim, and even kev's bronze man mode, but the space got really cluttered with everyone and their grandmother doing it, so when mctile rolled around, I gave it a watch, but I was so drained from all of it, and sort of just wanted a non-iron account perspective to play the game. And since boaty (with the most love imaginable) uploads once a blue moon, it's very rare to find content creators I enjoy do this sort of challenge centered around the game I enjoy. With that being said, I really hope this series continues, thank you for all you've done for the runescape community's mental as a whole, got me through a lot of rough patches in my life, to enjoy your content when it was up. Hope nothing but the best for ya man, and keep up the great work! :)
YES!! So glad you decided to make this a series... Odablock's is almost done so you timed it perfectly. Time to binge another GM series until I finally get motivated enough to log back in and do it myself after 4 years away.
I’m actually incredibly glad that the last Hardcore episode came out a bit later. So much more worth it to hear Settled’s taking care of himself and get an extra video out of it, why not.
Honestly, having a side thing where you output more runescape, but chiller and more just kinda doing a side thing with an old character makes sense. It's like a story that has an epilogue, sometimes you want to see your favorite character just chilling and what their life is like after the story is over.
It would be awesome if they changed the examine text on the remains at the dwarf cannon quest location to something like "This person must have had a low life".
Okay. I used to think that however great Settled vids are, he wasn't really a top player skillwise, but he was extremely knowledgeable, creative, and the best storyteller in Runescape thus far. Now I'm completely sold that Settled has become one of the greatest Runeacape players who has ever lived, in basically every aspect of the game.
The fact in his latest video he was cutting oaks while using a dog to tick manipulate proved it already. Like who the hell thinks of doing that other then settled lmao
To anyone that wants to do the mole challenge: you can use spells like weaken to set up since they are not instances of DMG. Makes it easy with Dharroks
I'm so excited to be here for the start of this - McTile got me into OSRS via my boyfriend and now here I am, a new Ironwoman, getting to watch along with a series - so excited for everything to come on both channels!! P.S. I moved in with my boyfriend and now we sleep to the 11 hour McTile video every night 🙈🤣

As someone who's never really played OSRS at all because I don't want to pay money for membership, it's really neat somehow to see McTile shrug off his training weights and exist in the world on his own terms after such a long journey. This series promises to also be a way for me to see a bunch of content I never have in other challenge runs lmao
I've waited years for this. Ever since episode 3 of swampletics I didn't really... Want it, but i always wondered what you'd try as a main account. Glad to see we're starting small with zuk helm
Interestingly, Hard Hitter doesn't count hitsplats from Poison as an instance of damage. I got every Mole task on my GIM with a Rune Crossbow and Emerald Bolts (e). I ran the numbers; if you wait out the poison, you have a ~30% shot at the achievement with just those two items alone. EDIT: Poison damage also doesn't disqualify you from Just Like That, either! I killed Karil way before I had any right to by using DDP+ specs and then cowering behind the sarcophagus while my spec meter recharged.
