This set is really amazing, Carl Craig isn' t a simple dj who only puts the traks and make the crowd dancing, he's a real artist, an intellectual, a scientist of music, watching him putting his hands on the instruments is orgasmic, you only have to stare at him, no words.

Having the opportunity to listen to this gives life many reasons to exist.
When will people learn that music is subjective, there is no such thing as "boring" or "bad" or even "good'. It is all just sound that we have the pleasure of perceiving .
It is ''good'' or ''bad, to the person saying such things, it's called an opinion. Now that does not mean that it has any relevance for other people though.
Unfortunately people will never get that idea....Besides I have been a house and techno head since the 80's .I am from tha D and I have witnessed the greats when they where doing Frat parties at 5 dollars a head ...SAINT ANDREWS ...if you vibe negatively to this then ...Why listen....

Despite that little fail it was a very nice set with lots of different styles of techno. All my respect to Carl Craig for being such a great producer and live performer!
But what is the gadget to his left good for and what's it's name?
I see a few machines to his left. On the tabletop by his hands there's a Roland TR-8 drum machine, a mixing console, a modular synthesizer rig in what might be a Doepfer case with a healthy amount of Cwejman, a Vermona XLR output module, a Pittsburgh module and a Moog Voyager synth on the very left.

I saw him this weekend in Chicago, and was WAY different than this! It was only bass, bass bass, felt very dark and hellish. I prefer this.
I will see him this year in May, let's see what it's coming up but I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed :)

Different music from different cultures. Just because white guys from Europe decided that they were also going to call themselves techno doesn't make it an apples to apples comparison. People from Detroit like their music funky! Not everybody gets it. Guys like Slater are way more marketable to their own culture.

For someone who made such good music at the start of his career I wonder Carl, what happened? Look up 'Neurotic Behavior' 'No More Words' 'Bug in the Bassbin' 'At Les' 'Crackdown' etc.
What happened was the music industry sunk its claws into techno and house music. Music was watered down for the masses. Happens all the time. He has not control over that.
