It's definitely a must when your trying to compete with these 2 pole setups using a basic castle system lol

I don't mind but I can't remember the exact gearing. I know I was messing around with a 83t pinion for sure. Pinion was between 21-26 I believe

@@musthavewheels im looking at a castle mamba x and a 4.5t motor and wanna get in the 2.2-2.3 range

@@maagneticc6470 mamba x doesn't work well with 2 pole motors. If you want to stick with castle, you'll want to look at a monster x. We learned that the hard way lol

@@musthavewheels oh ok ive heard people running 4.5-3.0t motors with the mamba x so is a 7700kv motor good enough to try to get to 2.2-2.3?

@@maagneticc6470 we tried the mamba x with low turn motors and had problems. I called castle and they told me that the mamba x is only rated at 90amps constant. These 2 pole motors require a lot more juice than that. He suggested a monster x. My new build for this season is running a monster x and a 7700 and I'm very close to those numbers. Lots of tuning still left but I'll get there for sure
