- This video tells the story of the 7-day trip we took through northeast Kyrgyzstan.
When I told my friends that I had planned a trip to Kyrgyzstan, the most common answer was Kyrgyz what?
And I repeated Kyrgyzstan!
Our travel plan was based on the experience of our dear guide and friend, Aman from the company Kyrgyz Riders, who I strongly advise if you want to travel to this country.

Located in Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan is bordered by Kazakhstan to the northwest and north, by China to the east and south, and by Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to the south and west. Most of Kyrgyzstan's borders run along mountain crests. Formerly a constituent republic of the U.S.S.R., Kyrgyzstan declared its independence on August 31, 1991. The capital is Bishkek.
Kyrgyzstan is an amazing, uncommon travel destination. With an incredible display of rivers, waterfalls, and nearly 2,000 lakes, its beautiful mountainous landscape has provided the setting for over 2,000 years of history. We spent 10 days in Kyrgyzstan and explored many of its most famous places.
So our travel plan was to explore the following places in 7 days: Jalgyz-Karagay pass, Song-Kol lake, Tash-Rabat, Chatyr-Kol Lake, Kel-Suu lake, KochKor Village, Eagle Hunting Experience, The Skazka Canyon, Jetty-Oguz red mountains, Karakol village, and Grigorievka gorge.

Was there in 1997. Tourism had just started to grow. In the villages we were treated as honored guests and not as ‘walking wallets’. Beautiful country which I never will forget.

I was in Krygyztan in 2015 and I enjoyed it. Lovely country and lovely people. It was a good introduction to Central Asia and its rich history.
Yes, Kyrgyzstan is a truly fantastic and underrated country with so many wonders and incredible nature. We were also fortunate because when we went, we hired a guide who followed the itinerary we chose, and it turned out to be a fantastic and unforgettable route for the time we had available.

We also visit in June and the weather was nice. But our guide send us a photo of the same place we were one week later completely covered of snow 😱😱. Anyway it’s a fantastic destination

Hello. I went in June and the weather was OK. but the week after my return, my guide sent me pictures of places where we were completely covered in snow... It's hard to answer the question. I sincerely advise the guide we hired. See the contacts in the description of the ideo and say that you talked to us, maybe he will give you a discount :-) he was super professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the region. I hope he has a good stay, and he won't regret it :-)

It was during covid time and for that I believe it was cheaper than today. For me and my son I’ve paid less than 2k usd, all inclusive, flights apart of course. Regards and thanks for your appreciation 🤗

Thank you very much for your comment. It’s very kind. The weather in March and April will probably be quite colder, and all those landscapes I show in the video should be covered in snow. Although it’s a much tougher walk, it should also be a very beautiful one at that time. I honestly don’t have that experience. I was only there in June. Thank you. 😊🤗

Thanks for the comment. I visited Kyrgyzstan in the first week of June and the weather was good, as you can see in the video. However, it snowed the following week, so early June can still be risky. In my view, maybe the best month to visit Kyrgyzstan is June, because August is already too hot, and in winter the weather is too harsh, unless you're looking for a more extreme experience. That wasn't the case for me. I hope you go and enjoy it, as Kyrgyzstan is a unique country. Thank you 😊

I’m very pleased you enjoyed the video, and I believe when you visit Kyrgyzstan, you’ll see all of this is true, and yet, it still doesn’t capture half the beauty you’ll encounter. The software I use for creating the animated maps is Adobe After Effects

Many thanks for this beautiful video. I am panning to travel to Kyrgyzstan with my family and 2 kids (girls) aged 15 and 11, who do not have a lot of outdoors experience. Do you suppose they would be able to handle the same trip?

Given the ages of your children and their lack of outdoor experience, it may be quite difficult for them to handle the same trip. It is important to consider their physical capabilities, as well as their ability to handle any unexpected situations that may arise.
While I am happy to share my experiences and insights with you, I would highly recommend that you contact my guide, whose contact information is listed in the video description. He is a local expert who knows the area well and can give you a more accurate opinion on whether the trip would be suitable for your family.

Such an awesome vlog! Been planning to visit Kyrgystan for years. I have some question,is it safe if I go solo? Will google translate enough if I only know english? And do you mind if you give me like a budget range to visit the least touristy places like you've been?
I'm very glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful, and that it has been useful. Regarding your questions about safety, I found Kyrgyzstan to be a very safe country. The people are friendly, and the environment is peaceful. In terms of language, they do not speak English and I think it would be difficult to get around, especially because the characters are not Western, which makes it more complicated to use tools like Google. Regarding the budget, I went with my son and for the two of us, 10 days all-inclusive, it came to around $1,500. So, the trip was planned by me and executed by AMAN, the guide whose contact details we have in the description. He is truly a fantastic guide and speaks perfect English. This is my honest impression of the trip we made four years ago. Thank you.
But please note, I just want to add the following: I’m not the type of solo traveler, so my opinion on orientation and the language issue, although it’s true they don’t speak much English, might be a bit biased. I hope your trip is a success. Thank you.

Yes. We spent 2 days by ourselves in Bishkek at the of the trip. But levem so Aman help us with the Covid test’s needed at that time. We still share messages and he let me know that this video helped a lot his business. Nice when we turn a hobby in something also helpful for friends 😊
