I love how he calls this video a movie
Yup. Same emotion spectrum as Armageddon with Bruce Willis.
2:12 that's not a pinch... that's a shit load of wasabi
random dude loool exactly what I said
+random dude real Wasabi is not even close to beeing as hot as the one that you now, most restaurants use colored horseraddish, chances are you never tasted real wasabi. its really expensive
Asians like their food way too spicy.
@@apostolosfilippos and white people like there food wayyyy to tasteless lmao
pro tip : you can watch movies on flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
That is cool shizzle. This is different from other videos I've seen on making nigiri. I like this way better, more artistic. Presentation is 50% of the enjoyment of food.
Thank you it was lovely and I Love sushi and I appreciate your love and care for it too
Nigiri is my favorite sushi style 😀😃😄😁☺️💞💕.
It is my favorite too
Bcoz it looks very beautiful and delicious than maki sushi
I bet the dislikes was from the sushi restaurant owners lol...
This makes me equally hungry and sad cuz I REALLY want to eat some sushi right now 😭
Thank you for this! I'm trying to make nigiri sushi at home tonight and this video was simple and to the point!
gumleet
I'm glad you like it. I hope this helps you.
OMG SAME HERE! 👋🏻
I've been a sashimi cook, but I cannot make nigiri. I can't even make onigiri. I can't create those triangle
Svaka cast
Thx. Lovely explanation!
The zen of food 😌
Great video I loved the pacing and the information provided thank you
These look amazing
Who else uses salmon?
Thank you for this, very straightforward and helpful :-)
Never seen such a dumb combination it is not even a dish.
Raw fish and rice without seasoning seems like you can't come up with anything.
Worst taste worste hype ever.
Big dislike.
Do we need special rice or any rice work?
Basically Japanese short grain rice is preferred. Not just the quality of rice itself, but it wants to be better AFTER mixed with vinegar. Usually sticky type of rice will get much stickier by absorbing vinegar, so probably less sticky type will make it good balance when it comes to sushi rice.
Great instructional video!
Always WONDERFUL ... 👍🏻
Amazing sushi
好棒
How does one like me, who lives in Oklahoma, get seaweed for salad? I mean who does the restaurants order from? I’d surely appreciate any help!! Thank you 🙏.
Elle Groover I don’t live in Oklahoma so I can’t give you a precise answer. But try some ethnic supermarkets maybe in Asian district. Wherever Asian community is, there should be some stores that carry Asian products.
I live in Tulsa. Pretty much all grocery store has seaweed, usually in the asian food aisle.
what type of vinegar do you put in water to dip in ur hand in before making sushi?
Joe louis
Regular rice vinegar will work
can you use rice vinegar if you don't have normal vinegar? (with water)
Rice vinegar works pretty much the same way as normal vinegar. It just contains more ratio of rice, besides wheat and other cereals. If you use it for cooking, it gives you more mild flavor.
So eat it raw? Sorry if that's a stupid question
Originally (thousand years ago) sushi used fermented fish, and pickled or marinated fish later (couple of centuries ago). So it is quite recent started eating raw fish as in today. This was made possible thanks to the preservation technology for sashimi grade fish, and of course, to the skillful chefs making the best of its freshness.
@@howtosushi8176 Thank you, I've been wanting to prepare a Japanese dish, so this information is extremely helpful. Thank you.

if it's like singing on a stage then I am done for, if I tried to sing I would sound like a goose farting in the fog, I got no chance lol
0:00 the music is so hard
Wow nice 👌👌👍👏
What is the sauce used to brush them on the top?
It's called Nikiri. It's a reduction of soy sauce, mirin, sake, and dashi.
There are plenty of ways to make it.
1 is throwing everything in a pot and reducing everything down.
2 some people first prefer to reduce the mirin (make sure it's Hon Mirin or Takara Mirin, not Aji Mirin) and sake, to get rid of the pungent alcohol smell and taste. Then add the rest and reduce.
3 you can switch the soy sauce around with double brewed soy sauce or tamari. Double brewed soy sauce is deeper and less salty. Tamari is lighter in taste and has no wheat, so it's gluten free.
@@gonzoducks8 thanks!!!
Thanks sir
Where is the airpocket?
Sorry mate, but just compressing rice with fish on top won't do the Trick!
SquirrelKnight Yea it would. That’s the normal way to do it.
SquirrelKnight the air pocket technique is called the Edo style of nigiri. It’s a little more time consuming. The way the guy does it in the video is usually the norm. I’m a sushi chef
The music gave me an aneurysm
Muchas gracias!!! 😁😍
What kind of fish do you recommend for nigiri Sushil 🍣
There are hundreds of different kind of fish. It’s totally depends on your preference, but salmon and tuna are pretty popular around the world and easy to arrange the taste.
hunter x hunter characters should have watched this

Cutting raw fish in Japanese culture is the same as cutting corned beef in the united states. Always cut as thin as possible and cut against the grain. Layering isn't an issue.
How do you know it's authentic japanese ??
Well ... 1:43
