I found this channel while searching for a primate rescue that actually wasn't kidnapping, injuring or neglecting the babies. I found you all! I started season 1 and have binged up to this point. So many more entertaining and educative videos to watch. Thank you! 😊
Your channel popped up into my UA-cam Algorithm at the end of season 5. I have been binge watching from the beginning ever since. I love your channel and what you all do for these babies.
I'm beginning to think little Miss Vera doesn't want a Foster Mom in order to stay with the Human Moms and the blankets. She's smarter than we think. But I love her and Bell so much.
I have become oddly addicted to this world of monkeys. I've seen many (many, many....) videos on UA-cam and really enjoy this peek into your santuary/rescue center. Fascinating species and compassionate caregivers make for good watching. Thank you all. The way from Napa, CA!
Dougie!!!!! Oh my Dougie Fresh, I just love that kid, he was the chilliest baby to hang out with, nothing seemed to phase him. I loved my time with him and was so sad I had to leave before seeing him get integrated into Skrow troop. So happy seeing how well it went for him, I had no doubt he would do great and everyone would love him, I mean how could they not, he’s perfect, lol. Now if you can get a shot of him and Groot playing (my two favorite boys) I think my heart will explode and I will melt from the cuteness of it all 🤣😂🤣. Keep up the great work Kyle!!!!!
It was cute it looked like Vera was watching the Supporters list at the end when it was scrolling. Thank Yo ALL who Donate an Support. An Very Much Thank You for Sharing these Amazing Videos. Wish I could afford to donate or volunteer. Lots of Love Light an Blessings from Massachusetts, U.S.A.
Without you gals & guys those beautiful baby Vervets and the surrounding troops would not be. Love all videos, keep on keeping on. A+ to the Vervet monkey mums...
This place for baby monkeys is the greatest & most impressive yet to me. Thank you for your caring & preparing these furry babies to live in not only the country they were born; but to return them to the wild where they came from... GREAT JOB, GUYS !!!!!
I love it when they tilt their heads to the side just like a dog does. These babies are just too cute. They're cute and at the same time they have a grumpy face. .lol!
Awww there’s our girl! Those pics of Vera are adorable, you can’t help but love her. Keeping my fingers crossed for mama Jessie to come for you little one.
I have a 3 legged 🐱. Got her when she was a kitten. Animal having it done young do extraordinarily well. Snoopy at 13 doesn't realize she is different, and she rules the house.
Kyle, a very handsome and gentle ways are perfect for being the Vervet Forest spokesman’s. “Damn Monkeys “, and a few little things said softly, kinda tattles on you. I think you must be a fun person to be around. 😊. To the viewers speaking of your haircut and beard trim. WOW! You do look outstanding. BUT, viewers must understand that it takes donations to support Kyle, he is not employed by the vervet foundation. So please remember this. This is my opinion only. God bless all the staff, volunteers, and of course Kyle.
Beautiful videos! I can't believe there are more subscribers to every Wednesday and his PET monkey then the Vervet Forest! Oye this world needs more education!!!
Well that was certainly worth the wait. But poor, sweet Diane, so sad :-( Thanks, yet again, Kyle for a first-rate production; I'm sure I speak for many when I say we're already looking forward to what is yet to come! All the best to everyone at VMF from Donna in Oregon.
Smacking lips when eating is so cute when a monkey does it, not so cute when a human does. lol My favorite actions are the lip smacking, and their little calls when they are a bit stressed out. So cute.
KYLE when you cut into the video clips to explain what is about to happen, along with your commenting during FILMING plus your narration during video clips it makes watching these videos so completely engaging enjoyable and really much more captivating and I feel just pulled into the video like I'm right there...without your narration and explanations and funny comments it would be just great shots of gorgeous MONKEYS but I wouldn't be as excited to see them or understanding at all what was going on..I'm learning so much about vervet behaviour and following for years now...because you brought it to life for me....you are the bridge between being interested but clueless and (DUE to your huge video and narration), being completely engaged immersed transported and in love with learning excited to see what comes next and wanting to teach others about awareness the impact of eating meat on this earth...how vital it is to be vegan and how we can help..the change I want to see in this world doesn't DEPEND on others first ..it depends on me first..the face in the mirror..thank you for all you have done to wake us up...now where's my coffee?! Cheers.
That was soooooooo cool doing the live chat with this premiere....very fun....felt like i was there...so glad to see Stick(orphan from lasr season) ....and Ms. Torie did such a nice job filming our problem child Vera....those pics are just adorable...were they off her phone camera 📷 or a Go Pro type...??? Last but not least i loved Leo chasing his foster momma but then trying to play hard to get...too cute....
“And this time it looks like somebody went a little overboard with tagging the babies with non-toxic paint”... hahaha! It looks like “Holi Festival” in India!
Once the babies are released with their moms, where do you place the feeding enclosures to ensure the babies have access? Love your videos! I always enjoy your narrations and feel I have learned a lot from watching.
Question: Why are there so many vervet orphans? Are there that many predators, are they too slow to get away, starvation,...........just wondering. Thankful you all are there for them. Wish I were closer. I would love to share hugs with a lap full of them!!
I think this video will best answer your question - ua-cam.com/video/leqlAqFKqII/v-deo.html And I also suggest you watch this Q&A if you're interested in digging deeper - ua-cam.com/video/xk-61UlqiJs/v-deo.html
Probably a dumb question but how do the babies end up getting hurt when the the Moms and Bandits fight? Do the Bandits grab at the babies and they fight over the baby or do the babies freak out when they see the bandits and moms fighting and instead of running away from fence they latch onto a fighting mom? Or a combo of both scenarios? Just curious because they always seem so aware and typically run away from commotion.
I guess Vera was more stressed out over this whole foster mom selection then anyone was aware of since she seems to be a long time paed an neutricial cause for thrush or was she in an enclosure where those others had thrush? Even then a good immune system should keep her from getting it in most cases unless something upset the bacteria to fungus balance on the poor baby. I am sure she did not do it on purpose, of course, as most monkeys would have no idea where thruush comes from or what to do promote a case of it in themselves (even humans - we know what not to do to avoid it but not really what to do to bring it on, that is unless she does know the relationship between athletes foot and thrush and has been chewing on shoes, sandal or licking toes, to come down with it. However, in the most likely scenarios she is just a great deal more stressed out by all this then she is showing so no one could tell. Well, now she is back with humans where she obviously wants to be and has no notion that that will not be forever, and she will have to go be a monkey, It maybe though that she has to do it on her own and without a foster mother which means keeping her in DIsneyLand or an enclosure until she is much older. Since the comings and goings of possible foster moms and other adults seemed to stress her then she may actually have to be just with humans an babies until it can be decided which troop is most likely be accepting of a lone baby and whether she can really deal with the "wild" especially when it comes to sleeping in trees alone if she does not managed to pair up with another baby and foster mom or find an adult female willing to overnight with her. Vera is one of those cases where you really wish there was a detailed documentary on her life prior to arriving with you, Many monkeys kept as pets will often be more human-centric the others but usually with peers and determined mothers it's not horrendously difficult to turn it around. I may be remembering incorrectly as there are lots of monkeys to hear about and keep straight but she has never raised by humans as a pet, correct? She was one found on a golf course or somewhere apparently abandoned by mother and troop, I think? So unless she made the quickest bond in human-primate history and bonded to the person that rescued her or the person she was turned over to at the sanctuary, I can't imagine this is all about just waiting for whoever she binded with and not giving up hope. Plus monkeys are very capable, like their human counterparts, of having multiple bonds so she should not be rejecting a possible new one as she is still waiting for who or what she is bonded to, to show up. Even if released in a group of foster moms and babies and other female that intends to approach her is going to get the same reception, I am afraid, that the other potential foster moms got. And she makes the mistake of getting a bit wild and fighting if one of the higher ranking monkeys, of an alpha, attempt to befriend her she can quite quickly find out she is ostracized from the troop or actually ends up beaten up over her behavior from the troop she was hoping to be part of and spending a night in the feeding cage for safety until rescued by humans in the morning. So you have to worry about letting her out and then finding in the morning that she is not in as good a shape as she was when she was set free. It's quite a conundrum as to what to do with the girl. I guess she could have her heart set on one particular thing that she is looking at in a mom, but since her history sounds like she did not have a mom long enough to know what she wants and that mom actually abandoned her, not sure what she would be wanting. The only other possibility is that her abandonment was traumatic and involved a lot of rough handling to keep her from following and with no idea if she was abandoned where found or she was found where she gave up trying to catch up to her mom. She dies not seem to make a bind well at all - or else i would have expected by now to see her bind with another baby and that would lead me to think that even if she does not get a foster mom she could go with her friend and whoever that friend bonded with. What are the plans B, C and D if she does not finally click with a foster?
