The Achievements in Enter the Gungeon were Absolutely DREADFUL

- I decided to revisit one of my favorite Roguelikes of all time, Enter the Gungeon! I found out for a second time why the achievements in this were absolutely dreadful

Also also, the jammed shrine at the start of a run SETS your curse to 9, it doesn't add 9... hence why the Jammed achievement didn't pop.
31:00 To clear up any confusion, the curse shrine doesn’t give you +9 curse, it sets your curse to 9
I just cheesed the Winchester challenges by using flying items

Sad that I didn't get any flying items during the Winchester runs, would of made it a lot easier
Believe it or not, I have missed a Winchester shot even while flying. Biggest skill issue of my life
You can also do it with gunboots if the target is within range
I remember cheating with the cheese wheel once... then getting stuck with no way on a platform with no way off other than suicide. Totally worth for the clover tho.
for those of you who are wondering how many mimics there are, you have brown, blue, green, red, black and rat chest mimics, wall mimics, pedestal mimics, gun mimics, pot mimics and door lord if you count him as a mimic

And if you want to be a completionist about the mimics; there's the mimic that the Gunslinger wears as a poncho(you can see it blinking) and the special mimic from the Mimic Union that talks to you in the rat chest room if you have the Mimic Tooth Necklace(which replaces anything that *could* be a mimic into a mimic. Except the Rat Chests, which while can still have a chance to become mimics, are not *garunteed* to be due to union laws.)
"average completion being 100 hours"... maybe after the A Farewell to Arms update, or to someone experienced in twin stick rougelikes... but it took me around 170-200.
Currently sitting at over four hundred hours, and this game still rocks
I just did this in the past few weeks and completing frifle’s challenges was easily the most annoying part but I feel like the game go super easy after playing a while to the point where it wasn’t even that fun anymore 😂
I had the exact same thoughts towards the end. Still an amazing game just got super tired of it by the end
I think the bullet's past is a direct reference to zelda
getting the sword from a dying relative in a castle, parrying projectiles with a sword, and evil king cannon? that's a pretty cool cameo
also hero of gun the achievement sounds like hero of time, the title for oot link, and its picture is 6 yellow triangles supposedly as a combination of the triforce and a revolver's wheel (don't know much about gun terminology)
Yea also the fight with the wizard copies his moves exactly from link to the past, so does cannon. So its a big lttp reference
Edit:Also the ending scene and fairies are ripped from the lttp ending
for the 10 curse achievement, the statue in the starting room brings you up to 9 curse not just +9 curse. That's why it didn't work initially.
Literally my last 2 achievements are Frifle's and Winchester's, I know how awful the grind is, so good job on getting through this all, I'll see you in my recommended when you do this again with another game lol

When you have high curse mimics show up more often
Just starting this challenge for myself and this was a great guide. Will definitely be using the elevator trick for that grocery list of enemies

I love how you used the mega douser to get the bullet part when you could have just teleported to the other side of the room with the bloodied scarf

I also had really hard time platinuming this game but it was also one of most fun ones for me

Also, the bosses didn't get easier, you were just better at the game. No patches are listed to have changed the stats of any of the past fights... (apart from Robots, which was a cosmetic change to the boss' summons)
I believe Bullet's past was made easier, wasn't it?
Nobody plays on the “original” load profile and they wonder why the game is so easy, it’s right there in the options and it changes all drop rates so you don’t have 5 guns by floor 2

The hero statue in the first floor doesn't actually give you 9 curse, rather it sets your curse to 9 if it isn't already.
Makes sense, I didn't really consider that when writing the line in the script and is probably why I miscounted the curse when I went for the Cursed achievement
wait till this man finds out about the mimic gun
I got all the achievements for this game, but it took a lot of walkthroughs and probably hundreds of deaths.

Oh sweet child... you aint even close to done yet... the achievements may be over, but the gungeon still hols secrets. There are two extra characters to be found, two more secret bosses, a shrine that holds a hidden synergy, and a weapon for completing the ammonomicon. You. Ain't. Even. Close.
Most of that was done while grinding for the bounty hunters. Would say that its close enough for me to be finished with the game haha
I'm surprised there's no achievement for unlocking the paradox or gunslinger
Yea I agree, it's a little weird to see no achievement for them
By the way there's a way easier way to get the robot all you have to do is keep the television in your room just like throw it into a corner and then you can roll as much as you want

Yea its crazy how rare it is but it makes sense for how goated it is. I also forgot to mention in the video but its a 0.001% after clearing a room

Huh. I completely forgot that unlocking the most overpowered character in the game, the Gunslinger, doesn't even unlock an achievement.
I wonder if you ever realized he even exists.
Yea I used him a bit, very fun character
EtG is the only game I have on steam at 100% completion. I was only able to get it that way because I am so bad at the game and have died several hundred times even before killing the Lich. Challenges like Frifle's hunts were actually able to happen in the normal course of me playing the game, because I was playing the game literally all the time. Same with RNG heavy challenge occurrences, like getting perfects on the shooting gallery.

i just beat 3 Past characters back to back no deaths :D ..i still need the hunter past and need to unlock bullet ,gunslinger,ect,ect but this game is FUN

What was your strategy for finding Winchester?
Honestly it was such searching through an entire floor and praying the RNG gods were looking down on me haha. It helped that there was already a big grind in the bounty hunters

i actually had a golden junkan on literally my third run of gungeon. then i died because it was my third run of gungeon.

I never knew you could shoot missiles at the pilot's past boss, so it took me 11 tries to kill it without missiles 😅 put a hole in my desk over this boss...
I understand the struggle, the Pilot's past the first time was the hardest thing in entire game for me. Definitely a rager for sure 😂
On my main accout it only took me a healthy 1068 hours to get all the achievements

if you happen to know of all of the Gungeon's many secrets it is possible to beat a characters past on your first run.
Honestly shows just how great Gungeon is that it can keep your attention for 1068 hours
