G-Funk Instrumental Session with the Akai MPC One

- In this session, I'm exploring the audio track features and internal sound generators of the Akai MPC One. I started off recording a bass guitar lick into the device (which you can hear distorting initially because the sampler was also in monitor mode for the same inputs). Once I edited the bass guitar parts, I used some internal MPC One effects to give the guitar more of an envelope filter effect. All of the additional keyboards and synths are generated using the internal instruments from the MPC One. This session resulted in the creation of a smooth G-Funk type beat, influenced by the west coast music of the late 90s. Still early days with the Akai MPC One, however I wanted to share part of the journey with the channel. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Hello homie ! thank you for this pure sound ! OG funky G-funk , love it from Switzerland ! What key are you playing in ? Some simple advice to choose a key for creating or you just go with the flow ?
Pure dope once again OG! Is the synth at 2:50 on Jura or something else? I need that iny life.
Thanks for dropping more vids lately.
always jamming bro.. when you say internal sounds are you talking about the new plugins in the mpc or the expansion pack sounds?
Appreciate that. This track is not using any expansions. Its using the stock MPC plugins and my own drum sounds
thanks.. you talking about plugins like hype, mellotron, hype and odyssey? @@Altruwest
I want Snoop to get on these.
That would be dope 🔥🔥🔥
This is fire, brother.
Gotta get a late pass on this one 😊A couple things…I always marvel at how your ideas “turn the corner”. The initial groove was nice, but adding that synth bass just bought it home. It was a wrap after that. And how you layered the drums. I also like how you evolved the hats and let the beat breathe. by the way. That DSI MOPHO X4 still hanging RIP 🙏🏾
It's a journey for sure! I gave myself an open ended drum pattern to establish a rhythm to play bass against, but as the sounds became a bit more layered it told me that I needed to elevate the drum sounds to match the layering of the instruments. Call and response to a degree. I appreciate this comment a lot fam, thanks for checking in!
hi there, what you recomend the mpc one or the 2500, i have a deal on both but dont know what to choose cheers
The MPC One is easily much more capable than the MPC 2500. The MPC One has more effects, more memory, audio tracks, built in synths and instruments.
The only advantages that the 2500 offer are physical outputs. If you need a machine that has 8 outs and 4 midi outs built in, the 2500 is the better choice.
@@Altruwest thanks 🙏 🇵🇹
😌 I have a love for G Funk!!! I’m only 35 from The Chi.. and it never fails to touch my soul! It’s not many that can relate to this special music.. if they do.. they must be REAL!

Thank you fam! 🙏🏾
What an excellent performance ❤
Thank you so much fam!
so simple..so effective. What effect did you put on the live bass after you played it?
Thanks fam. It's an "autowah" effect that comes with the MPC Series.
A Bro you did your thing on this track it's Dope 👍🏾💪🏾✊🏾💯 ...
Thank you fam🙏🏾🙏🏾
It's da Bomb 💣 🔥
Thank you fam 🙏🏾
Nice 🎶
Thanks 👊🏾
I'll rip that 🙏
Definitely funky enough 💯
Thank you fam
Man another funky groove. How you record the guitar. 🦾🦾
Thanks fam! The MPC One has 8 audio tracks, so I just recorded the guitar on an audio track and edited the timing to explore the feature a bit.
@@Altruwest gonna try that with outboard synths
That beat is tight.
I appreciate you fam 🙏🏾
Do you turn that bass into a key group or just use it like a sample?
The bass on this track is from the Odyssey instrument in the MPC, so it’s a full on synth. I keep the instrument as a synth because I want the flexibility to sculpt it using the filters.
That’s a hit …. Period ✅
Appreciate you fam 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Luv this bro!!👊👊👊👊👊🌟🌟🌟🔥

Glad to see you on an MPC1 as well. I love mine.
MPC One is an incredible value for music makers today. Glad to hear you enjoy it!
U got it fam 🔥
Thank you fam 🙏🏾
How you like the One?
Dope joint!
Thanks fam! The MPC One is definitely better than the Akai Force for my tastes. I would say the MPC One is more or less a DAW with an MPC sequencer.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
