Do you live in or near Canada? I watched a special about polar bears and brown or black bears breeding due to global warming and glaciers melting causing polar bears to migrate. The Cubs born will sometimes be born with mixed color fur like this or dirty blond to light brown fur.
My father was the Naturalist at the Children zoo in Boston [Stoneham] and would quarantine every new arrival of animals. From baby Puma's Panthers, Lama's Tigers and more. He brought home a 6 week old cub bear [still on the bottle] and let us pat the cub. BIG MISTAKE!! That little cub had a powerful bite, and trust me it hurt. No matter how small a bear can bite hard even if it means no harm.
Unusually marked bear of that type. I wonder if in his DNA there is a Polar ancestor. There have been some Kodiak/Grizzly and Polar crossbreeds that are referred to as Growlers.
