@@leevonbradshaw4665 We get it you watched grizzly man but these are not even remotely the same. These people have captive bears who imprinted on them. They think of them as their parents. They have never been wild. Timothy went out into wild bear country into their territory and got eaten by a starving wild bear. I guess you rather these bears have died or locked in a cage for the rest of their lives? Because they could not survive in the wild.

    • @leevonbradshaw4665

@@mdb1010 i understand what you suggest; no... but I would rather those bears at some point since you excite an inhabital concern to be set free. Your guess would be wrong however, hypothetically why not? A bear must start somewhere. Now, the story line suggest over ninety years these bears have been apart of this particular family. Yet to become attached in origin bears are all wild. Without doubt I think it is not awesome to domesticate what is intended to be wild and to earn an income in such fashion. It's not right. On the other hand to avoid that truth is avoiding the principle of societal law: protect. Those bears are wild via nature. Yes any animal can show love or tolerance. Once they realize the difference between freedom and captivity... love send captivity is gone forever. Now that's man's fault. "These bears are great with us but they wont be great with others" the "parent" of one had stated moreless. Meaning, those bears are of course wild, and would in fact 100% survive in the wilderness. They'd become extinct soon or later because people will never understand to leave things in their natural habitat. I believe a captive is worse than wild subject if we can ook at the zoo's of our world for instance. Yet then now one shudders homes. Bears are not dogs. Tigars are not kittens. Some of us learn the hard way yet we still learn in the end.

@@leevonbradshaw4665 they showed in the video the bears would not survive in the wilderness because they don't fear humans and the training to get them to fear humans isnt a full solution either because though the video doesn't mention it. bears survive from skills they observe from their mothers. a without those skills with choose to forage and get closer to humans to eat trash putting the bear in a dangerous situation where they will likely be shot.

These 2 people have committed their lives to the care and wellbeing of these bears. The dedication that’s required is more then the time and care parents put into their own children. By age 12 your kids friends have more sway over you kids then the parent has I mean good parents as well. By the time your child is 16 most parent are not investing large number of hours per day into their child. But these bears need just as much attention today as they did as cubs. well the thing is, some cannot survive or be re-adapted back. It's natures cruel way of saying, " you aint welcome back". Example, white tigers, and bears have a VERY extremely difficult time re-adapting and end up being man eaters or something else. nThe only way is if they could change the color of the white tiger and introduce the bear to a PARK managed by keepers that feed it. I read somewhere that they also can't compete with the wild ones once they are beyond a certain age. They have lost a lot of instincts and physical capability.

That's the type of situation that can get really dangerous. Bear A snaps at bear B who looks up and takes a swipe back at - oops - human! My uncle's doberman bit my head when I was a kid because my dog got up in his business - he turned, saw me, thought I was the culprit and snapped. It all happened in an instant. The dog realized his mistake immediately, but the damage was done as a 3 year old kid is sitting there with blood streaming down his face. Insert a full grown bear into a similar situation and you're talking dead person! I commend these people on what they do and would LOVE to spend time with a big bear (I'd risk it!), but these fantastic animals are and always will be dangerous.

It warms my heart that these bears have been given a chance at a good life, even if not in the wild. Sometimes that option isnt really available. What matters is that they're treated with respect and cared for.

It's really awesome what you're doing with these bears i used to be a hunter and one of my dreams was hunting 1 of the bears but I would never do that now. One day I believe that when the Lord come down to establish His kingdom will be able to get close to all animals and enjoy them. What a glorious time that will be. I have 2 dogs that they are my best friends and so loyal to me and seeing how you interact with these bears brings joy to me seeing you and these beautiful animals. God bless you and your family

They weren't twice the size of Kodiak bears. They were twice the size of grizzly bears. And Kodiak bears are about twice the size of grizzly bears.
Short faced bears would just appear larger because they had longer legs, but they would be about the same weight or just a bit heavier than a Kodiak bear.

There is a strange but beautiful bond that you can develop with non-domesticated animals. No comparison in size but I look after a Gambian Pouched Rat (imagine a rat the size of a small cat, built like a Staffie/Pitbull and teeth that can easily rip and bite your hands, even remove/deglove fingers) which is a non-domesticated species at the moment. She is, essentially, a wild animal who's trust and love you need to earn through mutual respect. There's just something different with that kind of friendship (I also have 3 collies, 4 fancy rat does, and 2 cats whom I also love to bits). It's a well worth experience to have at least once in your life ;)

Such an awesome video. Being from Massachusetts we have a place in new Hampshire called Clark's trading post. It's a place to go and see people that have bears, but all we have in this region are black bears. But to see Kodiaks and grizzlies, is awesome. Much respect to everyone in this video trying to protect the bears. Because like what was said. We as a human race are impending on their natural habitat. But such an intelligent animal. They are awesome. I still remember going to Clark's when I was 8-12 years old. And I'm 45 now.
