Too many apples and oranges in transfer portal rankings right now. How do you compare one school that just needs 5-10 guys with a school that’s cleaning house?
15 studs might not be better than 10 at another school if the first needed 25 and the second met its target.
A couple things you could do is look at who is winning recruiting battles for different classes of athlete. You can also have insiders set baseline expectations like stock analysts so schools are compared against their own goals, not another team’s.
I will say this much-you can’t make a pragmatic apologetic for BYU being second to last in the Big 12 just to flip the logic in criticizing the SEC.
Texas Tech has the number 1 transfer class
TT ranked 36
CU ranked 8
TCU ranked 25
On3
Tech has the #2 class now. They had the top one for a while, but LSU passed them a while ago.
Transfer Portal is Great.....but, you have to "DEVELOP THESE PLAYERS!!!!!" REGARDLESS, you have to transition these new players into their System, Process, & Culture. You will NEVER...Get past that.
@@jasonjames1697 I was quoting 247, and rivals, but on3 has it like this (for transfer portal only):
1 - TTU
2 - Mizzou
3 - Miss
4 - Miami
5 - Michigan
@@earnestpeeplesjr8948 True, but that's a separate discussion. You also need to scheme and call plays well, not to mention manage the clock. Football is complicated.
Texas tech does not have the numbers 1 class is the Big12 or the nation 😂😂in the portal .check again
If what I've read according to ESPN Texas Tech has the number one in the portal and LSU was #2 , that's what their college portal guys, they been saying that almost 2 1/2 weeks because Texas Tech is spending money like nobody and look at who they signed
@@thickboy74you should read a recent article than 🤣
Every single reccruiting site has tech as #2
Anyone BUT the SEC and ESPN!
It’s comical that BYU’s only portal strategy is to poach Utah players
It's funny you that's actually true
It's great
Seriously, your unhealthy obsession with the SEC is exhausting. Sorry to tell you, people in the SEC don’t think about the B12. The don’t compare, compete, or consider themselves equal to the B12 regardless of a single game outcome. B12 is a conference of schools trying to get attention of the P2 for next realignment, city college, directional schools and little brothers. They lose a player to TT or Colorado, ok they move on….immediately.
The ACC is about to die in 3 weeks. No one wants to go to those schools! FSU won 2 games, no ACC got past the first round, and everyone in the nation knows ASU beat Texas! If a B12 school in the first year can dominate the SEC, any B12 can! More eyeballs on the #16 team in the B12 than #6 team in the ACC! More eyeballs on the B12!
Your obsession with the B12 is unhealthy I guess. I don't know who you are, but Texas last year was in the B12, 2 years ago Texas Tech beat Texas. ASU should of won, but the refs were paid off by Skankey. The SEC is weak!
I doubt there will be another alignment in the way we have seen in the past.
There’s too many teams in single conference non division and it’s damaging.
B1G has 18 teams. SEC has 16. You end up not playing a lot of games and not knowing what your team really is.
@@adamb6370 Yeah y'all gonna drop Mizzou, Ark, Tenn , Vandy, S.Car,Sippy, and sippy St,, TX ATM? and now Fla? They all suck in football, and basketball.
@@jbaker7439 The B12 is 50/50 the B12 vs the SEC schools do your research Sir! There are more trash in the SEC than the B12!
Id like to know what rankings nationally are they looking at because Ive looked at all the portal rankings and believe me when I say The B12 aint dominating theyre at the BOTTOM.
Nationally Tech has #2, the next B12 team is Colorado at #20. If you're talking total number of transfers, B12 has 3/5 of the top 5.
Looking across the top 50 players Big 12 got 7. 3 of which are going to Tech.
So Tech definitely is doing something right this year. But that total way lags behind B1G and SEC.
@@RussellMezger What do these ranks even mean tho?
@@MattBuild4 The rankings are the result of a calculation combining player grades, and the number of players. More good players = higher ranking.
@@RussellMezger Great what are the player grades based on exactly?
Dude the SEC is not going anywhere. You need a therapist. Seriously. Every time you post its about the SEC. You are sad if you think Texas Tech will win championship. I think I remember the SEC with Georgia, Alabama,Texas got the some of top classes. When dust settles next year Alabama, Georgia,Texas and more SEC will be in there
Texas is going To Own The SEC, OU is going to beg The Big 12 to take them back...Before I get attacked, I was an OU Fan for damn near 50 years.. N.I.L. And Soft, Spoiled Players who lack loyalty to any University are ruining CFB... I am Done.... Best Of Luck , the game has become Dull To Me😅😅😅
You are a fool if you think Texas will own Georgia, Alabama, and others. These teams are football schools who will sell their moms first
Buy better players.
Very cherry picked.
The big 12 has 1 team in the top 10 in the transfer portal right now. Going off “rating” is incorrect because you need bodies.
If you only got 1-2 players and have a high player rating but have 15-20 guys going out. You are not dominating the portal.
That said. Tech is swinging for the fences and that is fun. Colorado will be there too.
Big12 has 11/16 teams in the Top 50 Portal Rankings!
