You really lightened up your RV by painting cupboards. Why don't the manufacturers get it--people like their RVs to look like their homes. They need to STOP the brown theme!
Agreed. The brown theme went out nearly 10 years ago when it was replaced with gray.

WOW!You should go into business helping others renovate their RVs. We just went to an RV show in Tampa and didn't see anything we liked as much as this. I'm mystified why RV makers continue to churn out the same colors when every renovation we see is a light color scheme, more clean uncluttered and "house" like. Great job. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for your kind words. I think there is still the "Cabin in the woods" motif associated with camping, and of course, many of those companies have long-term relationships with those suppliers. I agree that the trend today is to make it feel like home.

Super nice job! We had a 5th wheel and did something similar as far as taking all the generic furniture and wallpaper and such and added our own furnishings and really made it home. Unfortunately a tornado wiped it out. No one was in it, THANK GOD! I miss it! I hope you are busy making wonderful memories in yours!

Everything turned out lovely! I'm wanting to update our 35 ft. Class A, and I'm getting close to convincing hubby we need to have the couch reupholstered. I have a feeling that it will be more expensive than purchasing a new one, but it has "great bones" and is very comfortable and well built.

I have an opportunity to re-fab a Minnie Winnie and after watching your vid I'm super excited to take it on! Thank you for sharing the cost, I really expected it to be ridiculously high, like $8K or something. I have some jack-of-all-trades skills and my dad's a retired woodworker and I bet he'd have some good ideas. Thanks for the inspiration and confidence to make it happen. Thank you so much! It was fun and not too complicated. It is just a confined space which adds time and effort. Make sure you have a plan before you start. I recommend doing all of your priming and painting before you do any other finish work to keep it open and prevent creating a mess!

It looks fantastic and fresh! So many RVs come from the factory with "dated looks" because the companies making them are often stuck with decorating ideas from decades ago. It looks current, stylish, and far roomier. Great job, both of you!

Just visited your channel, So what did you decide? Seems you haven't posted a video in six months...growing a channel is hard, I am in between inspirations and projects right now myself (that is what a regular job does to your business) The RV rennovation videos are really popular right now, and people are so interested in the freedom that comes with exploring and being in an RV...You should create a set of 10 minute videos chronographing your RV remodel...before and during and after.

Good work and looks great if you like boring plain white paint. I love the wood look of all my 89 rv cabnets doors etc.. and would never paint them unless damage repair someday might require it. Looks like you did a great job on the work fixing yours up as you like it.

Tom, you did SUCH a good job here. All these small little inexpensive updates and you literally added thousands worth of value to this, really well done my sir. So can just paint over the stock walls without any issue? Never thought of that, if it works, I'm surprised you don't see it done more often in the used market....

I’ve turned every home I’ve ever bought into a white canvas - such a bright space to re-make everything new again! I’m looking hard for an RV now but am going to buy a used one since it’s my first one - I’ll be on the road full time in 17 months when I retire. A remodel would be a perfect way to spend the next year-thanks for the inspiration!

Your video doesn't get old it should motivate those desiring to adopt the RV lifestyle. We are making a decision on an Winnebago RV (93-96) and intent on renovating the entire inside and painting the outside. Thanks for the motivation with simple DYI. We are just going to use your plans and hire a contractor to complete the entire inside and paint the outside months later.
How in the world could anyone down vote this video. We have no common sense people in this world. Just pure negative energy.

Fantastic job, wish I had the know how to do these DIY projects, what a great business this could be, maybe the RV manufactures might get a clue from your video, they are really missing the boat on what people want, I would have made an office area instead of a dinette, most people today don't even eat at a table, while full-timers would kill for office space , thanks for sharing

I love how you didn’t paint your white cabinets with white walls behind them. You popped some color in there!
We painted our cupboards white but the walls are a very light tan. It’s a nice contrast.
I faux painted the countertops to look like granite.

Great job! I was wanting to have a tiny home built for $60K, but Dallas County where I live doesn't allow for them and there are a ton of other upfront expenses that they don't tell you about. I think this is a great option that will work for a few years.
Hi Jillian, yes, living in an RV is an option! If you consider that the space is equivalent to a tiny home, and most older RV's are self contained, it is an option that you could get into for less than 60k. Not to mention, there are parks that allow for extended stays with laundry facilities etc. and you can move it around for a change of scenery, which is harder to do in some tiny homes. Many communities are afraid of creating tiny home villages due to zoning regulations and a general lack of code compliance issues related to how a tiny home should be built. I would consider getting an older RV for sure. I think you will find that it will be easier to sell later when you want to upgrade or make a change.
