WOW !! Awesome 😺 I have only ever heard guitar versions of this. Blown away !!! You are such an Awesome piano player. Holy Crap ... Not just mechanical, Really Good Feeling too 👍
Great job Nige! Most folks now cover this song in the ballad form the way Jimmy wrote it. But I happen to like this uptempo March form better!! It's the way I first heard it, so probably that will alway be my favorite. Bravo!! thanks for sharing Bruce Towell
@@NigeB yes check out Glen's version from "Live in London' around 1977 it's on youtube..and also the composer Jimmy webb himself, has recorded it a couple of times, all slow versions, but i like the uptempo the best:-)
I love that you capture so much of the instrumental effects and fluctuations in the song. It does sound a little happier on piano than it's supposed to be though, considering it's essentially about a homesick soldier missing his love. You know what I mean? I think Jimmy Webb slows it down too much when he plays this, but maybe a slower tempo would remedy that.
Thankyou! Yes I agree it sounds a bit too bright and happy on the piano to reflect the song's lyrics, hopefully I managed a more downbeat sound for Witchita Lineman
You are so welcome. For some reason I have been watching Glen's videos. I never knew he was such a great guitar player. He had a fabulous career. Played for just about everyone even replaced Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys for 6 months. He was phenomenal. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Oh my goodness, this is so beautiful. ❤ Galveston is such a classic song.

Nice job . That is not a song I would think of playing on the piano but you nailed it. Would love to hear that on a Fazioli
You're a very good pianist. . really liked it

Thankyou Bruce, glad you enjoyed it! I've only ever heard the uptempo Glen Campbell version so that's how I played it

@@bobbrown5241 yes, I heard about him replacing Brian Wilson. A big talent!
You wouldn't happen to have a source for this would you? Any sheets or anything?
I'm afraid I didn't use sheets for it. I'm sure there must be some out there, maybe in a Jimmy Webb songbook :)
