this guy has been making content for us for over 10 years and he's only at 100K subscribers? we definitely need to start sharing and liking. can't speak for the rest of you but I would love to see his channel grow larger
Wow Joe you’re so thoughtful and you think of having everything together in one place and yet you keep having so much to do. Blessings! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
Thanks for sharing with us Joe, hope Melissa's Mother is doing okay. Like what all you are getting done around there . Stay safe and keep up the good work and videos. Fred.
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. I have a cherry bedroom suit, a few antiques that are old oak, and most of my furniture is oak. But I have one end table that is ash. It is so beautiful. It is my favorite piece.
I don't mind the longer video, means I get to sit in my ckmfy recliner that much longer. Thanks Joe for sharing with us all your creativity and hard work. Your planning and organizational skills are the key to to what you do and to what keeps your videos so interesting.❤🇨🇦
Yes so do i . It gives us a nice insight into how Joe prepares for winter. Im in Australia & i have no idea how people prepare for such brutal cold weather in other countries. We just dont get snow here basically.
Cool bench Joe, I'm assuming, that's a bench, I've been away from channel for a bit. San Antonio loves your work! Keep up everything and health God bless Joe.
Joe I apologize, one of your followers commented on wood cutting and mentioned something about Mexicans, I hope you don't subscribe to this sort of narrow minded ignorance. I've been watching you for years on the divorce and your dad's stroke and the tent, I love crawfish netting, I grew up in the country of mid Oregon. Just hope you don't think like that ignorant soul. Thanks Joe 🎄
I hope Melissa's mother gets better I'll pray for her while she's in the hospital Joe you're a hard worker you're always staying busy knocking projects out one by one install cutting a lot of firewood for a man your age you at work and 20 year old
I hope Melissa's mother is going to be alright.. My Mom was in the hospital and is now in hospice. Freezing rain here in Michigan today and driving was a mess this a.m. Rain again tomorrow, sure reminds a lot of last year.
Joe I don't know how you do it with the weather! Kansas is pretty comfortable compared to what you have. Really enjoy your progress on the shelf unit. From 'Wichita Joe" thanks for sharing!
Back when it used to get cold I would put lights on the bushes. After Christmas it was too cold to go out and mess with taking the lights off the bushes. Forget that. When it would finally warm up some I'd go out only to find most of the strands were trash because the rabbit munched on them.
An old veterinarian’s advice, you should get veterinary help for administering calcium or cal/phos IV. You must monitor the cow’s heart rate while giving. Administering too fast will kill your cow by cardiac arrest. That would be a sad day.
You are exactly correct with that. It will KILL that cow doing it IV w/o knowing what you are doing. You can do it under the skin BUT: Only calcium products labeled “23% calcium borogluconate” or “23% calcium gluconate” are safe to be given under the skin. Using oral calcium supplementation is a practical approach to preventing milk fever.
It is VERY hard to get a large animal vet up here. One of the subscribers is one but about 3 hours away so too far to drive here. Up here it is best to be prepared, because you will more than likely have to do it yourself unless you can trailer it a few hours to the nearest vet hospital. We can not do that.
@@NorthernSeclusion I know what you mean. I'm up "north" by you also. Very hard to get a vet. Be careful though with IV into blood stream as it will KILL a cow unless you do it correctly. You can do it under the skin -- which is a slower route but less dangerous or you can use that calcium by mouth. Lived on a dairy farm - beef farm my whole life so I know all to well how tough having cattle can be with no vet around. Take care and good luck. Hopefully, she won't have any problems.
Hey, you should feed festus fermented hay. I heard them talking about how that really fattens up the cow. It makes the meat marbling I don't know if that's for true or not but you should check it out. Fermented hay yeah fermented hay it's supposed to fatten them up. Make some good ribeyes and chuck steak. I love a good chuck steak
With Melissa gone, I have my stuff to do as well as all of her stuff to do which you never see on film. There is zero time to slow down while she is gone.
Joe. Would a pump (similar to the one you use to fill the tractor) save lifting the milk can to decant into Jars or feeder for the calf ? They are not expensive. Thanks for all the content creation.
Since Mesa is only providing about a gallon and a half a day now, lifting it is not a problem. If she was milking out 6 gallons, yes, a fluid transfer pump would be ideal.
Good question...@jerryconnell3797 •…How did Sarah get on hunting Joe?... we'd love to hear please........ also, where's Joanne and Chunky...we haven't seen them for ages....I really miss seeing them both, especially Joanne sat in the chair in the workshop with you...

I do enjoy his videos/movies, they are hard workers/hunters.
It’s a shame their deer herd is being wiped out.
@picklesgherkin Joe and Melissa have well over 360k subscribers between their 3 YT channels…with 130+ million views. Well earned too.

At least Melissa is missing the negative temperatures this time. Hoping her mother is doing better.

You are right. Ash has a beautiful grain. All of our hardwood floors in the house are ash. Merry Christmas to you and Melissa.

Congratulations on the new cafe. Mr Joe, the wood shop is looking great. I’ve been working on my wood shop also.
Getting cold 🥶 here also.
Oregon chains are softer metal than Stihl, which makes them easier to hand sharpen, but they won't last as long when cutting hard Ash wood.

Thanks for getting back to me your a good worker and good Man
When Melissa gets home escape for a week and come up the winter king bite is hot. BTW lots of prayers for Melissa’s mom
Think I would have stacked those crates on that hunting blind building you got. Out of the way and out of the weather for the most part.
Nice Hoosier cabinet.

I have always thought you need a mill. You could definitely make good use of it.
I feel your pain on the keifer, my wife's morning ritual, and yes, it's super healthy, probiotics
If you would like a really good chainsaw sharpener Sthil makes a great one.

There are bovine vets around that area. Just be honest amd admit the real reason you are too cheap to do that
it is very hard to get a large animal vet to come to your house anymore. The vets all want to treat small animals.

Hello Sir, another great video!!! Wanted to ask, did Sarah get or see any deer when she went hunting? Thank you for all you do!!!
She saw one for about 5 seconds she said but it was a long ways away. It got her excited though.
Its going to be 80 degrees down here this week then drop to 33 degrees. Louisiana weather sucks.
Melissa said it was miserably hot down there yesterday.
Now yall can make Northern Seclusion coffee Mugs ..... lol.
You were working on your chain saw on the bench and changed a "blade"....I know they have a bar and chain, what blade do you use?
Big thumbs up. Yeah, you need to get a sawmill. They're affordable just cut back on your pork steaks and you can afford one LOL

Woohoo !..... Joe's up to no good with his tractor....
Vacuum the floor😂
21:52 my Gramps had a saw table attachment for the tractor.
Joe, are those cows gonna be okay? When it gets that cold
Cows are more susceptible to heat vs the cold. I do not know how they do it but they are fine.
I no longer use Sheetrock, been using a lot of T-11
How did Sarah do deer hunting in middle Minnesota?
