    I would love to see an update on this moss terrarium now. Is it still just as beautiful?
    My daughters and I have an absolute love for moss! All kinds!
    Then when I learned that each strand of moss is a singular plant, and they live in these wonderful communities, it made me appreciate them more!

    I am experimenting with using live moss in other parts of horticulture. I have just made a terrarium with discarded moss planted around a ribbon fern to see how they may benifit from campanion planting as they have similar like requirements. Hoping the moss's channeling of water across it leaves may improve humidity and moisture control. Any thoughts?

    First, beautiful work as usual 💚 Since this is just moss and it doesn’t have the same requirements as a terrarium with plants too, could this be made using just coco coir and lava rock or do moss still needs the vermicast? Thanks!

    Im curious about the requirement of a drainage layer, I see In this video you just have substrate and in others you have a false bottom and all that? With a mossarium do you need a drainage layer, or is that only for plants that have roots?

    • @WorcesterTerrariums
      @WorcesterTerrariums  2 роки тому +2

      They're not a necessity at all but I occasionally add one, depending on my mood 😆

    Is it advisable to add any insects in a closed terrarium? I've had mine for almost a year. It was never opened, but this week I've noticed about 20 baby spiders. No idea how they got in. One of the plants is also going brown. So, wondered if I need a clean up crew.

    I like watching your videos. I noticed that you don’t do sublayer with a screen above your rock I’ve seen that done. He keeps a substrate from falling down to the bottom. I guess it’s supposed to keep it from getting mold or mildew. What’s your take on that?

    • @WorcesterTerrariums
      @WorcesterTerrariums  2 роки тому

      @@curiositytube5924 yep! Thing is, it's a misconception that they need to be fully sealed and actually perform better with some airflow. The humidity is still high in this container. I'll do an update soon, it's looking fantastic!

      @@WorcesterTerrariums Oh that's amazing! I never knew that before! You learn something new everyday! One more question- since it's open, will you have to water it again after the one time watering has already been done? Or is it just like a completely closed terrarium, only water it once then never again? Also I'd love to see the update! Subbing now!

    • @Normalnot1
      @Normalnot1 5 місяців тому

      Moss doesn't have roots. It has rhizomes that are only for holding them to shat they grow on. You can conicievably grow moss from cuttings, like your grass clippings thought!
