This is because in USA North and South America are considered two different continents, and Central America as part of the North. I think it is the only country that teaches so. Everywhere else America is one continent.
They ARE two different continents. Every country teaches that because it is a fact. But when someone says "America" they usually mean the USA. But really everyone knows that North and South America are two different continents.
@@mapofthesoultagme7143 Wrong. Most part of the countries understand the World as it is: Five continent and America being one continent. Only English speaking countries, under influence of the US, teach the wrong idea of two different continents.
This is also true for English speaking countries as well. Actually 4 with the Caribbean not being grouped w central America, but they're still 2 continents
As a Honduran, I feel a little weird when people label central america as north america lol, I've been teached since I was a child that America is divided by 3 regions, North, Central and South. I don't identify as north american at all because I don't share history nor culture (other than with Mexico) with the north american countries, while I share a looot of things with other central american countries. I remember that my social sciences teacher used to get a little upset when she saw maps that showed central america as north american. I do understand, however, that other people have been teached different things, and that the video would've been wayyy to short if they showed only the north american countries
I feel the same when people refer to Brazil as a South America country. Same as in Honduras, in Brasil, we learn that North, Central and South are subdivisions of the America Continent.
It looks like you made me a question regarding Latin America and Brasil... But I couldn't find it... what was it? Just answering this part... This is somehow tricky... We do consider ourselves latinos, but not the way you do in your country as a community. We all have in mind that our culture is completely different. Being colony of Portugal, the traditions and cultural aspects differ a lot from the other countries in the whole Latin America. Recently I befriended a Mexican guy and a Colombian girl and I could see how different our cultures were. Also, we consider ourselves latinos when we are talking about the geographic location of the Central America and South America, and Brasil being part of that, we do say we are Latinos. But culturally speaking, we are very different. When Latinos address themselves as such, they are considering much more than the land itself, but also, the culture. That's why, considering culture aspects, it is very hard to say that we identify ourselves as Latinos. Hope I have answered your question... Feel free to ask anything else.

Central america is not a continent, just a greater geographic region that people refer to it as central america. Ultimately it's part of North America.
@@paulogoulart5309It depends where you’re from. Some countries geography classes count North America as its own continent while others count it as a subcontinent of the much larger American continent. You must be from a country that counts them as one American continent.

There is a geopolitical and a geophysical point of view about what a continent is. This video is using the geophysical approach thus considering Central America as part of North America, including the northern Caribbean islands, and causing a lot of confusion among Spanish speaking commenters here. Geopolitically we have North, Central, South America and the Caribbean islands, geophysically it would be North and South America with the Panama channel in between and corresponding Caribbean islands. So for North America is only 3 countries, Canada, U.S.A. and Mexico, Central America is from Guatemala and Belize to Panama, south from there is South America from Colombia and Venezuela to Chile and Argentina. And there's all the Caribbean islands, as CELAC recognizes this political arrangement. So that's the explanation.

Good video but you described *North America, the Caribbean and Central America.* North America only has three countries: Canada, United States and Mexico.
@@Jorge-lh6px Could be. I definitely generalized. I am living in Europe and people on average do know geography better than average north americans. That has been my experience. No clue as to what people from other continents are taught.
AMERICANS are all citizens from Greenland to Argentina, because America is a continent, everyone knows it. I do not understand the desire to appropriate the term "America", used by Spain to designate an entire continent. It was the German cartographer Martín Waldseemüller, who baptized the new discovered lands as one continent (not two, not a single country). It is as if China is called the Chinese Republic of Asia and all countries think that only that country is Asia, it is a real nonsense, a fallacy. It is not our fault that your country does not have a name and has to steal a term used to name a CONTINENT
THE CONTINENT OF NORTH AMERICA CONSISTS OF THREE (3) COUNTRIES: 1. CANADA 2. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 3. MEXICO Title of this video is misleading or plain wrong.
Unfortunately this is not really true, about half of those countries are not north america because they are central american, and central america has never recognized itself as part of north america, only of america, the continent. North america consists of onyl 3 countries, at best, since no central american considers itself north american, and the"north america-south america" system is a us invetion triying to apply it's standard on other places.
AMERICA is the continent which is correct for history and geography. Amerigo Vespucci the Italian navigator at the service of Spain, (the first to recognize the existence of a new world). I NEVER explore North America. And Brazil was the first region of planet Earth to legitimately receive the name of AMERICA, in 1507 by European cartographers officially. (The documents are official). Therefore a country called the United States has nothing to do with the name AMERICA. Taking / Misappropriating the name of the continent cannot change history as they (the North Americans) did in 1776. The real story is: America has been the continent (just the continent) and the region of Brazil since 1507, is the first AMERICA.
3 indeed. The rest are Central America and the Caribbean (Antilles). This video portrays the US's (skewed) vision of political geography. Also, it's the great mesoamerican coral reef... it doesn't lie in front of Belize alone... it extends throughout many countries including Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico even.

@Data-Watch Even if Canada, Mexico, and Greenland became new US states and territories makes North America and Greenland a great American Empire.
This is because in USA North and South America are considered two different continents, and Central America as part of the North. I think it is the only country that teaches so. Everywhere else America is one continent.
It is like that here in Canada too.

It's the same thing with west asia and east asia they are so different but still they are asian countries lol
That would be there are only 3 countries in North America if that was the case lol
@@paulogoulart5309 So in these countries, do they teach that there are 6 continents since South and North America are put together? Just wondering.

Just found out your channel. You're so underrated. Looking forward for more of your videos
I appreciate that!
Guatemala is Central America not North America
Guatemala is near Mexico so is North America

Did y justo put central América un North América...???? Wtf
Almost like not every country teaches the same continental system as yours does
THE CONTINENT OF NORTH AMERICA CONSISTS OF THREE (3) COUNTRIES:
1. CANADA
2. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
3. MEXICO
Title of this video is misleading or plain wrong.
What about Greenland?
Greenland is part of the North American continent.
Yes but Greenland is not independent.
Good video but you talk very fast
What about Puerto Rico?
Technically Puerto Rico is not a country. It's a US territory
Trinidad and Tobago is NOT in North America. Historically or geographically, or culturally.
How is Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 part of North America? 🤔
De AMERICA del NORTE solo forman parte Canadá EEUU y México y es una REGIÓN GEOGRAFICA del CONTINENTE AMERICA
@@america1832 Dime algo que no sepa 😒
@Data-Watch technically, everything north of the equator IS North America 🤣

Yeah, 3
