- The #Chargers kicked off their 2024 NFL rookie minicamp last Friday and there are SEVERAL topics to cover. We'll discuss everything Jim Harbaugh had to say about the rookie class so far, including a ringing endorsement for linebacker Junior Colson:
Per his press conference: "I'm not saying he's going to be wearing any dots or anything anytime soon - probably not the first year. He's literally making all of the calls. He's making all the linebacker calls. He's making the DB calls right now. The safeties that are making calls are getting it mostly right. I'd give them an 'A,' but the ones that they miss on, Junior will make the call and correct the call for the safeties, which is awesome. In a meeting with the linebackers, [Linebackers Coach] NaVorro [Bowman] would ask a question and Junior would give the right answer. It finally got to the point, 'Somebody other than Junior answer this next question.' [laughter] It's safe to say that he knows he's on it. It's a great thing for our team."

The thing with Dupree is that bosa and maybe even mack will miss games. We'll basically always have an edge 1 on the feild. They also could be planning to rest Joey a Kahlil more than staley did

Not really. Im not saying Telesco was a great or even good GM. But he still got us Herbie, Keenan, Slater, Derwin, Tuli in the draft. Eckeler as a UDFA, Mack in a good trade.
And for all u defending Hortiz when it comes to lack of addressing wr stating Palmer is good and your belief in QJ well those were Telesco picks as well.
Running laps is a joke, especially when like ive been saying all along, we’re only gonna hit on 3 picks and those are Alt, Colson and Hart.
I promise u the rest we will not hit on, especially Ladd as good as a kid he is, he is not gonna be worth where we picked him or what we gave up to move up to get him. Maybe one of the 7th rd wrs pans out but in no ways did we slam dunk the draft like u casuals think we did

Love your thoughts on Dupree but the first thing that came to mind for me is Dupree is an extremely big step up from Chris Rump hands down Bolt Up my bro’s

I remember when they had Antwan Barnes, he had double digit sacks one season. There was Jyles Tucker as well. This is way back in the early 00s lol
I guarantee that the Bud 2 year deal was “best edge for the split salary cap hit type of deal” because at this point we are working with about 10 mil in cap space and Joe Hortiz has said that he likes to have a lil money to make in season moves.

2010s Chargers is my jam. Deep cut. Do you remember Mike Tolbert. That's my guy! I think it was madden 11 where Sproles amd Tolbert were still on the team. Who cares about Ryan Matthews? That tandem was my favorite.
Tolbert was a ton of fun to watch!

I remembered Bud Dupree coming out of the draft and his first few years with the Steelers and he had like insane get off. Is that still true at this point of his career? Does anybody know?

The more you find things weird because the Chargers haven’t done “that” , the better you should feel about what is transpiring. This is about Rumpf and Mack not being here next year. Simple.

It is becoming more and more evident that Hortiz is NOT Decosta of the Ravens.
Just a bunch of questionable draft and free agent moves. The most glaring needs he ignores in the draft and free agency?? Overpaying with draft capital to draft a wr who we never shoulda drafted and overpaying for a cooked Bud Dupree ?? Signing a cooked DJ Chark?? What are we doing here??

Junior Colson played in Jesse Minter's system.
He knows the concepts that Minter is trying to run.
Junior Colson might be a rookie, but he's been in the Harbaugh system for years. He's been working in Jesse Minter's defense for years. (And Steve Clinkscale as co-defensive coordinator for the Wolverines.) He's worked in Ben Herbert's strength & conditioning program for years.
I'd be surprised if he wasn't the guy who knew what Jesse Minter wanted from day 1.
Alt, Colson and Hart are the only ones who will hit in this draft. Maybe one of the 7th rd wrs but thats it. We coulda had a much better wr than Ladd, so many better options on the board at the time.
