Toss up between Tarantino and Bay. Tarantino has the best wordplay and is played by Wax, one of the best rappers i've heard, but Bay is objectively correct. He's in it for the money and knows the industry is about money, not the movies themselves.

@@CadenzaKatie That's more or less why people hate on Bay. The industry is about money, but most actors/directors go INTO it to make art. Sure, a lot of people also want to make serious cash, but that's more of a icing on the cake situation. For Bay, he seems to care about nothing BUT the icing.

2:40 - One of his biggest movies was Psycho, which features a murder scene in a shower. Since films were strictly black and white back then, he literally used chocolate syrup as a stand-in for blood going down the drain. Also, half the lyrics Spielberg was spouting were references to films both he and Hitchcock produced. Anything with a capital letter was a film title.

The film A.I. was originally supposed to be a joint venture between Spielberg and Kubrick, but sadly Kubrick died before they could agree on a finished script. Thus, Spielberg was left to finish the film on his own and tried his best to keep it close to Kubrick's vision as much as possible.

    Spielberg has the best writing
Hitchcock has a lot of style with the black and white
Tarantino has the best rap but until he drops his own name you wouldn't know who was speaking if you just read his verse on paper.
Kubrick has the best character acting, the close-ups on his pained expressions are haunting
Bay is just...very honest about his industry

In addition to his films, Hitchcock had a TV show called Alfred Hitchcock Presents, which always started with his silhouette walking into the shot in profile. It's a deep enough cut that I had to look it up.

You missed , at 2:22, arguibly Hitchcock's best diss. Basically saying John Williams is the one that helped make Spielberg's movies iconic through his music.
    Fun fact:
Kubrick was *infamous* for being a perfectionist, often to the detrament of the actors. The Shinning being arguibly his most famous movie is an excwllent example of this as Javk Nicholson, Shelly Duval and Danny Lloyd all have stated that the amount of takes they were forced do, made the production hell on earth.

The "127 times" references something that happened while filming The Shining. The iconic scene of John Edward "Jack" Torrence chopping through the door while yelling "Heeeeere's Johnny!" was shot 127 times because Jack Nicholson wasn't angry enough for Kubrick. After the first few shots, Stanley just started reshooting over and over to make Jack angry enough for the scene.

One thing that irks me is that Michael Bay’s theme in this battle is just a remix of the Oprah vs Ellen battle that you reacted to previously.
Aside from that, this is a really fun battle.
Personally, I think Spielberg won, but I understand why most people say Tarantino won.
One more thing that rubs me the wrong way is Kubrick’s aggression towards Spielberg in this battle.
The two were close friends in real life, to the point that they tried to make a movie based on each others styles.
When Kubrick died before the film was finished, Spielberg continued work on the film out of respect for his friend, even going so far as to include the ending that Kubrick wrote.
The film bombed, but knowing the context of the production, it’s actually quite sweet.
So yeah, it’s odd that Kubrick is so aggressive towards Spielberg in this battle.
